If I didn't see the match and had to rely on comments here, it would had appeared Rooney didn't do well at all. Rooney presence was far better than Welbeck and Giggs put together. Rooney was always well positioned to be put through, but the clueless Welbeck didn't know when to release a pass.

Even RVP is guilty of some kind of accusation against Rooney. RVP delayed a pass that should also had put Rooney through on goal and he was marginally caught offside. Rooney too had a problem in passing the ball between men. However, it was not as bad as reported here.

Honestly I want Rooney to be doing far more because I know he has the ability, but any criticism I have against him on this thread will be withheld or softened because of the obvious hatred for him here.

SAF knew he was talented and hard working manager who would grow into the job.
