JIHAD - THE HOLY WAR

A very important question which relates to the propagation of all divine messages. It relates to the instrument of propagation Adherents of almost all religions, as they move away in time from the source, are invariably known to have employed coercion either to keep people within the fold of their religion, or to convert others into their faith. But according to the Holy Quran, this in no way reflects upon their religion's attitude to coercion. No religion at its source has ever permitted the use of force in any form whatsoever. In fact all religions have been made targets of coercion, and no efforts were spared by their opponents to arrest the growth of religions at their source and to annihilate them completely. Every time a new prophet came, attempts were invariably made by the enemies to suppress his message through the use of force and merciless persecution. It is the most tragic irony therefore that of all the books, the Holy Quran is singled out today as proponent of the employment of coercion for the sake of the spread of its message. Even greater tragedy lies in the fact that it is the Muslim clergy itself which loudly propounds this view, blatantly attributing it to the Holy Quran.

The Holy Quran, it should be remembered, is the only Divine book which absolves all the prophets of the world, wherever and in whichever age they were born, of the crime of coercion in relation to the spread of their message. Hence it is inconceivable that the Quran should present its Holy Prophet (sa) as the harbinger of an era of bloodshed in the name of peace, and hatred in the name of love of God. This is no place to engage in intricate polemical discussions, so this brief introduction should suffice here. According to the Quran, the Holy War, called Jihad, is in reality a holy campaign which uses the help of the Quran to bring about a spiritual revolution in the world.

Fight against them by means Of it (the Quran) a great fight Surah Al-Furqan (Ch. 25, V,53)

These are the very words of the Quran which throw light on the nature of Jihad. It must be fought by means of the Quran and the Quranic message alone. Again, to tame one's rebellious nature into complete submission to God is another form of Jihad which is in fact the greater Jihad, according to the Holy Prophet of Islam. On returning from a battle, he is reported to have said:

We are returning from the lesser Jihad to the greater Jihad.4

Of course, defensive war is permitted only on the condition that the enemies initiate hostilities and raise sword against a weak, defenceless people for having committed the only crime of declaring that God is their Lord. All offensive wars according to Islam are unholy.

No sound Muslim will care about what Ahmediya views since they are not Muslims according to the Fatwas of mainstream Muslim scholars

Islam is the best, its only that the mullahs, who claim to be the scholars of islam, are the ones who are defaming islam. Islam is free from all that they attribute to it! I have studied the Quran and not quite impressed with it. It seems so much contaminated with Greek philosophies and superstitions. The writers were heavily influenced by the doctrines of Aristotles and Socrates, renowned philosophers of the time.

study it without any hatred. The holy quran was not a book written by some people, it was a revealed book and was recorded as it was revealed!
Pls Let me know some of those portion of the quran that is making u feel uncomfortable, or u think as greek philosophy etc !

I dont quite agree with you.

The religions teach contradictory things as to what God requires of people. Which means that all these contradictions is not= The Truth. I believe that God would not want to muddle himself in this kind of confusion. So there has to be one way that is the right way. It's left for people to investigate, and hopefully find.

i completely agree with this view of yours, only if u would read the book i told u abt 'the introduction to the study of the holy Quran', study it with sincerity, all this are explained in it!!!
I told u that all the religion are from God but latter becomes corrupt, if you study all religious scriptures, you will realise that they all agree on the fundamental which is that God is one!!!

The true God has revealed Himself, and will continue to do so till the end of time. In every religion whatsoever, you will always find the sign of the True God in it. Its only that after some time the became corrupted. Its an established fact that polytheism do manifest after monotheism has been established. And its in order to establish that monotheism that prophets are been sent.

I wuld advice an honest seeker after truth to study every religion without a biased mind, study every scripture as if you ve never heard anything abt it b4, nd thats ur first time of coming to know abt it, AND ALSO PRAY TO GOD THE ALMIGHTY TO SHOW YOU THE TRUE PATH.

He would not have been taken down from the cross unless the Romans were sure that he was dead.

if according to the belief of the inherited curse of sin, no one can be righteous, how is it then that so many psople were ''righteous'', blameless and walked with God, even before Jesus was born or crucified?

the official standpoint of Islam as regards the crucifixion of Jesus is that he was not crucified at all! According to the story in the Koran, Allah had him substituted for someone else.

this is not true! this is against the Holy Quran. no where in the holy quran did God Almighty says that he substituted somebody in place of Jesus! we the Ahmaddiyya Muslim community reject such allegation.

Jesus was truly placed on the cross but he did not die there, rather he was saved from it.
the verse that refers to this incident is the one in chapter 4:157, the verse is not denying the event but what it is denying is the death on it!

You claimed that Dajjal is Christianity

he wasn't able to read!. if you say he was, then you are trying to say(God forbids) he was a lair, because when Gabriel came to him and told him to read, he replied saying ما انا بقارء (i cannot read), know that there is difference between been able to speak/talk & been able to read

everybody would speak it on the day of judgment because it is heavenly language

Thousands of Jews would follow, increases as he perform miracles and would spread mischief as he progresses but Jesus would come and kill him with is sword and his followers would be killed wherever they may be hiding and even the trees would speak and tell of their hiding.

a killer Jesus?, that would be going about on earth to kill people? is that Going to be his duty? how many people did he wants to go about killing? with guns/bombs/epidemics/earthquakes or what?  beware that's not the kind of Jesus the Quran & the holy prophet talked about!  unless he would never be able to accomplish his mission before he departs

You did not do your research well to know that the Dajjal would emerge between Shaam and Iraq, and his emergence will become known at Yahudea. He would claim to be God and punishes anybody that does not believein Him and would do many miracles to mislead many.

been one eyed means that he would have insight into material materials only and would be devoid of spiritual insight. if you study the traditions well, you will find out that the holy prophet said he(dajjal) would blind in the right eye?

As for the resemblances between Jesus and Jonah, Jesus was made to fit the prophesies.
That rather screws up your religion. It means that your book was based on a fabrication.

did adam's children inherit the so called sin?
if we suppose that what adam did was a sin let us see how could he be responsible for it and how could his children be cursed for it.

just as adam and eve when created were holy and innocent; so were their children when created were holy and innocent. this is what the scripture says:
a)"consecrate" to me all the first born; whatever is the first to open the womb amoung the people of isreal , both of man and beast is mine" (ex. 13:1,2)
b)and it is this law which made jesus holy and not his fatherless birth, as is written:- ", they brought him up in jerusalem to present him to the lord as it is written in the law of the lord" every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the lord" (luke 2:23)
c)jesus, too, believe believed the children to be holy and worth of kingdom of God. truly i say to you whoever does not recieve the kingdom of God, like a child shall not enter it" (mk 10:14-15)

if the children were born 'cursed with sin he would not have told his disciples to become like a child to enter the kingdom pf God. On the contrary, he would have said that "even if you become like a child you cannot enter the "kingdom of God" because you were born with the curse of sin and cannot enter the heaven unless i die an accursed death for you

Its just that you dont want to reason the line of my argument is the fall of your religion.
Explain the resemblance that occured btw jesus and jonah!

4)adam and eve were told by God to leave the garden not as a punishment of the sin, but because God did not want them to improve further in 'likeness' to him by eating the fruit of the tree of life. God said:
", , , Lest he put forth his hand and takes also of the tree of life and eat and live forever; therefore God sent him forth from the garden of eden, , , " (gen 3:23)

it may be noted that they were not supposed to live in the garden for ever. They were to go out on earth at some stage because when God created them He had intended that they should "multiply, be fruitful and fill the earth and subdue it". (gen 1:28) and this they could only do by going out on earth.
5) Adam was told to toil for his bread and eve was informed that she would bear children with much pain. This again was not a punishment of curse. Even before they took the forbidden fruit adam was told to "till the earth in the garden of eden. (gen 2:15) and eve was to bear children because they were suppose to multiply, be fruitful and fill the earth (gen 1:28) of course when they were in the garden with no knowledge of good and evil they were like children under direct care of father, and things were less difficult for them. But when they had acquired the knowledge of good and evil and had improved in their likeness to God, they were capable of comparatively independent life. God, therefore, gave them the necessary clothes and garments and informed them about the hardships they were to face on earth and told them to go out and struggle for what God had intended for them even before their creation. God had planned let us create man in our own image, after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of air and over the cattle and over the earth (gen 1:26).

From all there, it is clear that what adam did was not a sin nor was he cursed and punished for it.

Did adam commit a sin?
1)adam and eve were living in the garden of eden and they were told not to take the fruit of the tree of 'knowledge of good and evil.' they were deceived into taking this fruit and this act is termed as sin.

Now before we can accuse them of sin, we should know what makes an act 'a sin'. We know that anything 'wrong or evil' does not become a 'sin' unless it is done 'intentionally'. Similarly a man cannot be accused of a 'sin' unless he has the sense to know 'right from the wrong' and 'good from the evil'. Most childred do alot of mistakes, and 'wrongs' but no one labels them as 'sinners' or 'criminals'. Because we know that their 'knowledge of good and evil' is very poor. Similarly even a grown up 'offender' may not be convicted if it is proved that he acted without intention or that his mental state was so poor that he was unable to know 'good from evil' and 'right from wrong'. In short the knowledge of 'good and evil' and an 'intention' to do it are the basis of every 'sin'.
Now in the case of adam, we see that there fundamental requirements of 'sin' are totally absent. Adam and eve had absolutely no knowledge of 'good and evil' because it was a forbidden fruit for them and the had not even touched it, (gen 2:17 &3:3) and when later on they took the forbidden fruit, they did not take it with the intention of disobeying God. They were cheated into taking it by serpent who came disguise as a friend and beguiled eve (gen 3:4,6,13) here again the lack of 'sense of good and evil made it impossible for them to apprehend the evil design of the serpent.
Under there circumstances, this act of adam and eve can by no canon of justice be termed as sin
2)that is why God did not accuse them of any sin; nor did He curse them. God cursed the serpent and the ground(gen 3:14,17). But to adam and eve he have garments and clothes to put on (gen 3:21)
3)we even know that after adam and eve had taken the fruit they improved in their likeness to God. For God said 'behold man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil.' (gen 3:22)
if they had done a sin and were under the curse, they would have 'lost' the 'likeness' of God rather than gain it. (otherwise we will have to believe that the more you commit sin and get curse of God, the more you improve in the likeness of God)
