Islam has no problem with its teachings for it is perfect and would continue to benefit mankind till end of time, but Muslims of today have difficulty in understanding those teachings.

You all are also committing the same mistake made by the Jews. They were expecting Elijah to return physically from the heavens as he went. But when Jesus Christ came and was asked about the coming of Elijah, he replied he has appeared in the person of John the Baptist.

We all, except for the Jews, believe the verdict of Jesus Christ to be right and the Jews to be wrong in rejecting him. But seem to forget that the Jews had the clear wordings of the scripture to back up their claims that Jesus was wrong and they were right.... However, in the sight of God, they, the Jews, are wrong.


Same is happening right now. A man has announced himself to be the awaited messiah based upon Divine instruction. He is a Muslim and the Holy founder of the world wide Ahmadiyya Muslim community. Not until you pay attention to him and accept him, No Messiah would ever descend from the heavens! Never!!!

it is not his fault. It is the fault of the "so called Muslims" who brought this condition upon themselves!

anyway, it is one of the Prophecies of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) that Islam would get to such condition. However, he also gave glad tidings of the "return back to glory" of Islam. This would be brought about by one who has been metaphorically named "Eesa bin Maryam and Mahdi".

I am glad to have joined the community of that individual who announced on the basis of divine revelation to be the Promised Messiah expected by both Christians and Muslims.

I also feel it is a kind of pay back "we" Muslims are trying to do. Although, when I read the previous thread in which Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) was placed first, I wasn't offended because I am very much certain that the greatness of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) does not lie in anyone grading him after God the Almighty has already given him the title of "Seal of Prophets" (Khaataman nabiyyin). But it is very unfortunate that Muslims do not understand this the way they should have understood it!

to be frank, I like the response Maamin gave you. Hadhrat Uthman (Ra) ordered the burning of some copies of the Quran so that a standard version might be used. (this does not in any way affects it's authenticity)

if one tries to burn the Holy Quran and it would not burn, then why the hue and cry among the Muslims when an American pastor declared that he would burn the Holy Quran?? why don't they leave him to do so and himself witness a miracle of the Holy Quran?

isn't he going to be right to state before Allah that the Muslims themselves prevented him from witnessing Your divine protection of your revealed book, hence my not convinced about Islam !!!

look, leave all these petty issues and focus on what Allah has explained in His book. reflect upon it for it is a store house of immense treasures.
there is no objection that is raised against the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet pbuh that the Holy Quran is not having response to!

Now count the translations that used the phrase 'RAISED TO HIMSELF' against others that used 'EXALTED'. Then tell me your translation is better than Yusuf Ali that uses "RAISED" Or M. M. Pikthall that used "TOOK" which are most authentic and generally accepted translation known today.

there is no need counting.
1. the question you should rather be asking yourself is where does the Holy Quran describes Allah to be?
if it is that Allah is in the heavens alone, then u can prove to me that "RAISED TO HIMSELF" means he was taken upwards.
but the Holy Quran is replete with verses mentioning that Allah is in the heavens as well as on the earth. He is every where! (43:84)
it also mentions that if there are 3 people gathered together, He is the fourth. and if there are 5 ppl He is the 6th.. (58:7) etc.

there are many other verses which speaks of "going to Allah" but no Muslim, no translator has ever taken it to mean bodily or physical meeting with Allah...
for example see :

Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." (2:156)
So flee to Allah . Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner. (51:50)

He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me!

etc...

I already mentioned there are lots of Places where such expressions have been used but no one understands such going to Allah to be literal or bodily! so why in the case of Jesus.

this is one of the basic issues between Ahmadiyya Muslims and the other Muslims, that is the death of Jesus ascension, descent etc... and also with Christians.

if those translators could not be ok with one translation, then we as a community have the right to make our own translation. and we have always been challenging others with regards to the translations me do on verses like this which have been misunderstood!

You cannot force me to make use of their translations. if I would be discussing with a Muslim, I would rather prefer to discuss with him based on the pure text of the Holy Quran and not it's translation!!

individuals translate according to their own understanding. so if they have made errors with regards to some verses why should I agree to their mistaken translations !!

I thank God that the Arabic text of the Holy Quran is still preserved till today and there is no doubt concerning this.

so the problems are in the wrong and unnecessary additions done in those translations.

وَّقَوْلِهِمْ اِنَّا قَتَلْنَا الْمَسِيْحَ عِيْسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ‌ۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوْهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوْهُ وَلٰـكِنْ شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ‌ؕ وَاِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اخْتَلَفُوْا فِيْهِ لَفِىْ شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ‌ؕ مَا لَهُمْ بِهٖ مِنْ عِلْمٍ اِلَّا اتِّبَاعَ الظَّنِّ‌ۚ وَمَا قَتَلُوْهُ يَقِيْنًاۢۙ‏

And their saying, ‘We did kill the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah;’ whereas they slew him not, nor crucified him, but he was made to appear to them like (one crucified); and those who differ therein are certainly in (a state of) doubt about it; they have no (definite) knowledge thereof, but only follow a conjecture; and they did not convert this (conjecture) into a certainty;

Surah An-Nisa', Chapter: 4, verse: 157

بَل رَّفَعَهُ اللّٰهُ اِلَيْهِ‌ؕ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَزِيْزًا حَكِيْمًا

On the contrary, Allah exalted him to Himself. And Allah is Mighty, Wise.

Surah An-Nisa', Chapter: 4, verse: 158

read this translation and tell what you understand!

that's a grave misunderstanding of the Holy Quran!!

this is what happens when one misses the right Path from the very beginning.

just one point and every other thing would have to be re-addressed. and that is

" Jesus Christ never died on the cross. he survived the death on the cross, was treated in his injuries and migrated eastward in search of the remaining lost tribes of Israel. he lived up to the ripe age of 120/125 yrs before he died a natural death. his tomb is presently at sirnagar Kashmir"
