it's being 6weeks now after submitting application, no medical request, no update on what is happening to my application and school is to resume January 5th. I do not even know what step to take, I do not know what next to do because the outcome from CIC would help me make decisions right now.

At least if I get Medical Request I go know say them do visit my application. just imagine to have a document on someone's table for 6weeks without update, this is torture.

PoliticsWe Have No Light For Over 5 Years - Residents Of Ibafo, Ogun State by niyiguy(op): 11:38pm On Oct 26, 2015
Sad headline, true story

This how I got to discover the blackout situation in Ibafo, Ogun State, Nigeria.

I got a wedding invitation through my Mum, the engagement and wedding ceremony was dated for Friday and Saturday, So I left Lagos very early on Friday Morning to beat Lagos traffic and also meet up with the engagement that was suppose to take place on Friday by 2PM. On my arrival to Ibafo, what I discover first that got me irritated is the state of the road, the road in that vicinity is terrible - a saloon car can't survive one year with the state of the road.

I left Lagos with the mindset that when I arrive at Ibafo, I will get my cloth for the party ironed before the engagement proper. On my arrival at the family house, I told my cousin that I came with my cloth but I don't have them ironed and he exclaimed saying what am I insinuating, I said I need to get my cloth ironed and he replied saying there has not been light for the past 5 years and I thought it was all a joke, he left me where we had the discussion. So I later walked up to him again saying "I Like To Get My Cloth Ironed For The Engagement", he replied saying "Bro, You think say I dey joke", someone overheard me telling him that I needed to get my cloth ironed and the person confirmed to me that there has not been light for over 5 years, it kept me dumbfounded.

I was left with no option rather than my Jean and shirt for the engagement. So that Friday night, I asked for any close Hotel, I was directed to AM 2 PM, if you are conversant with the area, am sure that is one of the most popular hotel in that vicinity. I spent my Friday night with in the Hotel and a well air-conditioned room, I was able to get my cloth ironed for the wedding proper at the cost of N7,000 without Hotel Dinner.

During the Church wedding on Saturday, the church became heated, so I stepped out to get a chilled water, still curious about the light situation, I demanded for a very chilled table water and the woman selling said "Ha, am very sure you don't live here, it has been like 8 years we had light", I kept my peace.

I got disgusted about the bad roads at first, later found out that it is even more worse than just bad roads.

All this defect where there is a government, I wonder what the government of Ogun State is during to curb the unbearable situation in Ibafo, Ogun State.

I just thought I should share this story if sharing this could make bring solution to the people of Ibafo, Ogun State.

If you have anything contrary to my above experience, please share.

This is my personal experience.

TravelHow Do I Process My Study Permit To Canada ....please Advise by niyiguy(op): 6:54am On Oct 10, 2015
Hi Nairalanders

I am Lagos based Nigerian, I want to apply for a study permit to Canada, I have done some researches, gone through all required document but I am not to certain about my findings and I also need the help of Nairalanders.

During my research, I discovered that Study Permit Request in Nigeria is treated in Accra, Ghana. I also discovered again that VFS processes Application in Nigeria, since all study permit applications are treated in Accra, Ghana, is there any need to go through VFS or I just send all my application via DHL to Accra, Ghana for swift response.

I also want to know if I can process my application myself without the help of VFS and is it a better idea to DHL my document to Accra, Ghana for swift attention.

I also read that I will be needing Medical Exam, Do I go for the Medical Examination first or the Visa Office will have to instruct me, please see link for the Medical Examination: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-temp.asp

I strongly need the advice of Nairalanders to help me out on this because I am running late for School resumption.

BusinessA Customer Shares His Terrible Experience Banking With Gtbank by niyiguy(op): 6:24pm On Sep 22, 2015
A Customer of GTBank shares his terrible experience with us at Sharegist, he narrated his experience and also sent us a mail to help make public.

He was bitter while taking to us, he also said for four working days without weekend, he could access his funds, he said he went broke that with the situation in the country he could get quick loan from friends because it was an emergency worth N400, 000.

We have been hearing several touching terrible story about GTBank but this customer who is a friend of us (sharegist) story got our attention and we feel we should share and also get other terrible experiences from other GTBank users.

Below is the Customers Story, he said

I had restrictions on my Account Yesterday 17/09/2015, I was unable to transact with my Account at GTBank Egbeda Branch. I was asked to update my Account with my BVN which I had done via my Online Banking platform. I summoned myself again to update my account with my BVN which I registered at first with Access Bank.

While I filled the form to link my BVN with my GTBank Account, I was told that my DOB, 09/02/1989 on the system doesn’t tally with what I filled on BVN Linker Form, 02/09/1989.

Because I couldn’t withstand all this mess, I left GTBank Egbeda Branch for my Originated Branch, GTBank Bode Thomas, on getting there, I explained myself to the customer Service Agent I met on Desk, I told her about the restriction and DOB conflict. She brought out my file, she checked the DOB and told me that what was in my profile is quite different from what was on the system, so she changed it immediately – which means the input filled into the system was wrong from what I filled in Application form many years ago. (It is not my fault)

I was also told at Bode Thomas Branch by the same Customer Service Agent that as things were, I can not operate my Account I have been operating byself without my Dad’s consent, that this time before I can operate my Savings, Current or Dom Account I need my Dad to counter sign. This came into play because I opened my First Account with GTBank as SMart Kid Savings (SKS) Account.

So I left Surulere, Bode Thomas for Sango Ota because my Dad lives there, getting to Sango where my Dad lives, we went to the closed=st branch, we couldn’t make it to the Sango Branch because I got to Sango late. What surprises me is that when I first opened my account, Yes, my Dad signed because I was below 18 years and immediately after 18 years, I went to the Bank for an upgrade to a savings account. Over time I added a current and dom account without my Dad’s consent

I have been running this account with GTBank for over 10 years, when I moved from SKS Account, I have been operating my account independently without Dad’s consent, surprisingly when I wanted to make a withdrawal from my Dom Account, I was told I need my Dad to sign. But I do not know why GTBank moved the mandate on a SKS Account to Savings, Current and Dom.

All good, I took my Dad to GTBank Sango e-Branch on 18/09/2015 to get him unscribe as a signatory to my Account (SKS), which he wrote a letter immediately and he aslo requested that all SKS Account tied to my Name to be closed and also that he doesn’t want to be a signatory to any Account belonging to me with GTBank.

I filled a form again to link BVN with GTBank at Sango E-Branch.

I thought that was it but the following working day which happens to be Monday 21/09/2015, I went to the bank to make a withdrawal, surprisingly, I was unable to make use of my account from the branch I went to, so I left for my branch again at Bode Thomas, Surulere from Egbeda, getting there I requested to close my account just because I needed cash but my account officer spoke me out of it and promised if I filled and update my profile form again I will be able to use my account the following day, I adhered.

So the following day which happens to be Tuesday, 22/09/2015, I purposely went late to the Bank to give more time in other not to be told something otherwise, I got to the bank around 3pm, on getting to the closest GTbank Branch to me, Egbeda, I was also told I can’t operate my account which I have no idea of what the problem is, because I was late, I couldn’t move down to Bode Thomas, Surulere.

Tomorrow is another day. Tomorrow makes it day 5.

I thought I should share to that you can prepare yourself for worst things with GTBank, I know what I am saying, please note, like I said I have been banking with GTBank for over 10 years, for me to take my time to write all this, you should have an idea that something has really gone bad.

I am pained to have Banked with GTBank, I was told by friend that GTBank is never reliable but now I see reasons with them now.

Try as much as possible not to be a victim of GTBank, because if it was a matter of life and death, am very sure I should be looking for Money to buy Casket now.

Please if you have any ugly experience with the bank you are banking with please share with info@sharegist.com they are willing to air your thought and views.

PoliticsAyo Fayose Is Not Gay For Saying “I Love PMB, People Think I Hate Him” by niyiguy(op): 3:18pm On Sep 11, 2015
Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose came on Social Media narrating how he feels about the current situation in Nigeria Politics and also the level of corrupt practices. In his word, he said “I HATE Corruption”

Ayo Fayose shares on Twitter

it is Ekiti first before Nigeria. Every politics is local, every governance starts from the home, we graduate to the community, then to the Local Govt., then to the State and to the Federal, the Labour is Me and I am the Labour, one thing you cannot take from me is that; I have opened this Govt for the people to run.

I am the first Governor in Nigeria, that gives details of allocation to workers to decide on. We have been doing that since I came.

I want the representative of the Press to always attend our FAC meetings. That shows how transparent I run this Govt. when you have nothing to hide, then you’ll have nothing to fear.

I have openly given the people all the receipt of money that come to this State all partakers of FAC allocation attend that meeting once a month. There the people takes decision, I sign it what other level of transparency is greater than this? why most leaders of this country failed in the fight against corruption since 1999 is because they are corrupt themselves the first step that should be taken in fighting the corruption war is not to fight corruption with a political face.

I am the first Governor in this state that engaged the workers so well, I told workers, no Governor or public office holder can steal without the cooperation of a civil worker, we don’t have the experience on how to put papers right. We don’t write papers, all we do is approve papers, if a leader is leading a country to fight corruption,he must start from his own base.He must be ready and willing to put his home right, leaders can only lead right by example, not by propaganda. I take exception.

“I HATE CORRUPTION. I DON’T DO THINGS BECAUSE OF LIP-SERVICE, I AM A BLUNT NIGERIAN.”

I have declared my asset long time ago, I have submitted all the necessary papers, I know the procedure on asset declaration, put it inside paper or not, it is a public document, there is FOI bill, it is public already, if I need the asset declaration of anyone, I know the proper procedure to get it.

I put facts on the table. Facts and figures. No politician can steal money without the help of the civil servant, we should look inwards, one thing I want you all to realise today is this… I love PMB, people think I hate him but I don’t Democracy is founded on opposition.

Christianity EtcIs It Possible To Live Without Lying: Ways To Live Without Lying By Mathias Ored by niyiguy(op): 9:42pm On Jun 14, 2015
The easiest way to live without lying is to mind your conversation, they say silence is golden, when you are not sure of what to say, and also Mat 5:33-37 also help, especially 37.

Think before you to talk, curtail habits that may cause you to lie, avoid friends that may push into lying , most people lie because of inferiority complex or lack of self confidence, so they lie to keep up with the trends or friends. Petty or white lies are hardest lie we can’t avoid telling, because we tell them without knowing, so watch it.
The Bible says in James 3:8, “But no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.” The tongue can be the most wicked weapon on earth, so use it wisely and speak your words with caution. As Christians, we shouldn’t fill our lives with deceit.

We should always strive to leave honest, open lives that are full of trust and love, Herbert W. Armstrong often said that perhaps the hardest thing for any person to do is to admit it when he is wrong. In other words, it is tough for us to face the truth even when it looks us right in the eye. People use deception to hide the truth about personal mistakes, flaws and weakness. Essentially we lie to either protect or ingratiate ourself. We work hard to mask insecurity. We want others to always think the best of us.

Athletes feign injury to avoid failure during a high-pressure sporting event. Students pretend to be sick to avoid admitting failure to prepare for a test or to complete an assignment on time. Men and women dye their hair to appear younger for a job interview. The unemployed exaggerate work skills on a resume to land a job. Teachers raise grade scores to help a student enter college. Supervisors overstate recommendations to secure a promotion for a favorite employee.

Do we see all these examples as harmful lies? They all are. Yes, every example. Who is most hurt? The liar is, always! How? Individuals who use deceit continually are ever expanding their capacity to become better and more sophisticated at deception.
Lies breed more and bigger lies.

Lying is an evil that destroys good character.

Music/RadioNigerians Want Song “LADI” By Phyno X Olamide Ft. Lil Kesh Banned, Say Song Is T by niyiguy(op): 9:29am On Jun 04, 2015
Nigerians love good beat and good music, Olamide, Phyno and lil keshi have been makers of good music in the music industry, their songs are easily acceptable due to hard work and previous releases

Just recently, while I was driving along Dopemu Under bridge, Lagos, I was blasting the 2Kings Album, when it got to the TRACK 8 of the album “LADI”, some passers-by in traffic heard the song and what I captured from an argument was that the song was too corrupt for public consumption and the song should be banned. It didn’t just stop there, during the fuel scarcity, I boarded Danfo “Yellow Bus” from Sango To Dopemu UnderBridge, the conductor was singing same “LADI” song and some young dudes in the vehicle were like “Nice Song From The Triplet”, the comment got someone in the bus furious and he responded saying that song is just too rash.

I spoke to a friend to hear his view over the song “LADI”, he noted that most of Olamide’s fans are school students, young youth and that songs like this ain’t good for the mindset of these students

I wrote this too hear your individual opinions about the song “LADI”. If you have not listened to the song, see song below.
