Road to Lagos Mega City! First it was BOLEKAJA, second it was MOLUE. Third (now) it is BRT! Who knows what d fourth generation of public transport will look like! To me, there is no much diff b/w BRT and molue in terms of excess loading/passengers' discomfort (#suffering and smilling by Fela). Govt shld pls wake up.
Career / Re: National Association Of Unemployed Graduates (NAUG)To hold 1st Meeting In Lagos by Nkanuzu: 5:32pm On Sep 01, 2013
@OP, i suggest you should change d name to include underemployed graduates (National Association of Unemployed and Underemployed Graduates) with a view to adopting a holistic approach to employment challenges faced by nigerian youths (graduates). I can assure u that over 60% of employed graduates are under employed and under perpetual exploitation of employers! I believe this cause shld be championed by all nigerian youths (employed, unemployed or under-employed). To the Glory of God I am gainfully employed but many of my friends at the university are unemployed after several years of struggle. All for one, one for all! The future of this country lies in youths of today. May God bless and guide Nigerian youths

Politics / Re: FG vs ASUU: Is N30 Billion Not Enough To Take-Off? by Nkanuzu: 3:55am On Aug 24, 2013
FGN should stop playing politics with our educational institution. Even though ASUU's demands appear huge, govt should at least defray the arrears before presenting its case for renegotiation/amendment of the agreement. For crying out loud, FGN led by this present administration signed the agreement with their eyes wide open, therefore it cannot now resile from d agreement. If govt claims that the economy is not buoyant enough to implement the agreement, it shld at least clear the areas before seeking an amendment to the agreement! Secondly, austerity measures, if any, shld be holistic and not targeted on d masses alone. It shld extend to political office holders. Why shld ministers charter airplanes to attend functions, why shld a political appointee go to a function with over 10 entourage, why shld a minister have several aides on govt pay roll, the list is endless and applies to legislators. It is only a revolution that will save this country because the entire system is corrupt. May God help us to achieve the dreams of our founding fathers.
Politics / Re: Soludo Sues APGA Over Disqualification by Nkanuzu: 2:05pm On Aug 23, 2013
This is all about putting a round peg in a square hole. Why seek a legal solution to a political problem? Even the supreme court had advised litigants/politicians to always seek political solutions to their problems rather than judicial solution where the issues are purely political. See the case of AG Rivers State V. AG Federation! lol. Even if Soludo wins in court, it will be a mere academic exercise because the people that disqualified him hold the key to the party's structure and will ensure he looses out in the primary election for dragging the party to court.

Politics / Re: Yoruba, Igbo And Media Warriors By Olusegun Adeniyi by Nkanuzu: 10:21pm On Aug 22, 2013
Spot on. Well articulated, incisive and educative article from Mr. Adeniyi! The difference between enlightened elites likes Mr. Segun Adeniyi and "enlightened" spoilt brat of FFK is like 7 UP! It was unfortunate that our politicians (expired/forgotten politicians) took advantage of an unpopular policy of a govt (not targeted at any tribe) to score cheap political goals by bringing enthnic dimension to it. It was a mistake of a night by Gov. Fashola and I hope this mistake should be corrected to save our constitution and democracy. God bless the likes of Mr. Adeniyi for being objective and alerting the vulnerable youths!
Politics / Re: Policewoman Demanding N100 In Video Is Arrested by Nkanuzu: 4:53am On Aug 22, 2013
Good developement in Nigeria, thanks to advance tech! Since our journalists have failed us in exposing corrupt officials, the youths have taken it upon themselves. Shame to all Nigerian journalists who have abandoned the tenets of their profession in pursuit of partisan politics! My advice is that this sting operation revolution should go beyond police officers and extend to all public officials. Secondly, people should be smart and discrete in recording law enforcement agents because if u are caught your offence may be "doubled" or u may be attacked! Nigerian youths, good people good patriots!

Car Talk / Re: New Plate Number And Driver's License by Nkanuzu: 4:24pm On Aug 12, 2013
talk true:

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) said on Wednesday that the old number plates and the old driver’s licence would expire by Sept. 31
http://leadership.ng/news/120613/old-number-plates-drivers-licence-expire-sept-31-says-frsc
http://news.naij.com/37704.html
Oga, there is no official statement from FRSC that an existing Driver's License will become invalid before the its official expiration date. Obtaining new driver's license applies only to fresh issue, renewal or replacement. The credibility of the source of your information is in issue as well as the credibility of the person (U) using same to deceive the public. Imagine the month of September having 31 days!
Car Talk / Re: New Plate Number And Driver's License by Nkanuzu: 2:59pm On Aug 12, 2013
OP! Please cross check your facts before publishing. Going through your source (Punch Newspaper)nothing was said or written about the deadline for the new driver's license. The FRSC and enlightened Nigerians know that in making laws/regulations there must be saving provisions to take care of acts done prior to the new law. FRSC will not compel a person to change his driver's license (lawfully issued) before its expiration. Therefore, the new driver's license applies to renewals, replacements and fresh Driver's License only.

Politics / Re: Maryam Uwais - "Senator Yerima And Constitutional Review" by Nkanuzu: 7:40pm On Jul 22, 2013
What an incisive, detailed, educative research work and apt arguments from a Northern/muslim/learnered woman of substance- Maryam Uwais MFR! The senators who voted alongside Yerima, under d pretext of religion, against the controversial clause should hide their faces in shame and apologise to their constituencies. It is unfortunate and a sad commentary that typical Nigerian politicians use religion and tribe to deceive gullible members of the society and to pursue their personal/selfish interests.

ilugunboy: These people keep failing Protocol 101...here we see her imperial majesty Dame Patience Faka Jonathan exchanging pleasantries while the 'Deputy' descend the plane.

If the presidency fails to call this woman to order, with due respect to 'her excellency', she may one day insist on inspecting the Guard of Honour on behalf of Mr. President! May that day never come!!!
Politics / Re: Chidi Lloyd Declared Wanted By Police by Nkanuzu: 1:02pm On Jul 17, 2013
ujchief: Rubbish! House of reps members have immunity on the floor of the house of assembly. Anything they say or do inside the confines of the legislative house is protected by immunity and they can't be prosecuted.

Why are they declaring him wanted? Was he on the run? They should go to the hospital and arrest him nau!
Oga lawyer please cross check your facts very well so as not to deceive the public and your good self. There is no legislative immunity under our law/constitution that shields legislators against liability (criminal or civil) arising from acts committed either within the legislative chamber or precincts. The only immunity legislators have is in respect of written and spoken words within the chamber, not when you physically assaults another let alone attempted murder! Let Mr. Lloyd pray that nothing happens to the lawmaker he battered otherwise he will go in for it and even the so called governor will not be of any assistance to him. People should be held responsible for their acts!

Politics / Re: FG Withholds Edo State Statutory Allocation – Oshiomhole Alleges by Nkanuzu: 9:58pm On Jul 07, 2013
Alxmyr: I see some stark misinformation in Oshiomole's word. Maybe he was misquoted.

First, the National Assembly does not appropriate for states. And so Edo state cannot claim that monies passed by National Assembly for his state is held back by the FG.

Second, Oshiomole should have given more detail about what actually transpired and which fund was the FG withholding. I understand that many state cannot access UBEC fund, because the acts establishing UBEC required that states should give account of usage of previous funds released to them and as well as contribute their own quota to the fund. Most state have not done that.

Third, the FG has shown its reluctance to encourage state to continue borrowing domestically which often come at higher interest rates.

Lastly, statutory allocation is not appropriated by National Assembly, and most often if a state is owing some debt, such debt is often remove at source. Many state governors don't like that.

My point is that what Oshiomole churned out to the public is half information which basically was one-sided. He should have been more detail so as we know whose fault it is.
God bless ur soul and enrich ur wisdom. Many Nigerians are so gullible that politicians take advantage of same to score cheap political goals.

Truckpusher: Even Americans too has accent ....when somebody subtitutes water for warer grin what was that undecided
You are on point. Your accent is ur identity. U don't have to fake one's accent unless u are ashame of ur own identity. Just like the Americans have their own accents different from the English, other countries have their respective accents and are happy with it. In Nigeria, u hardly hear those foreign accents from our enlightened countrymen save for a few with myopic attitudes about culture. What is important is to speak correct english with clarity.
Politics / Re: CP Orders Arrest Of Rivers’ Speaker. by Nkanuzu: 3:47pm On May 19, 2013
lain: jesus christ... 24 security personnel for only one speaker. Nigeria is finished. Out of 24 ONLY 9 was withdrawn, that means he still has 15. Is rivers state afghanistan. That means goodluck would have more than 100 security personnel. Smh. Nigeria is finished
Your observations are spot on. May be most of the commentators see nothing wrong for a legislator to have 24 security details attached to him and they are blaming the CP for withdrawing 9 of d personnel. This is sheer waste of public funds and it undepines the ineptitude of our elected leaders in managing our resources! It is only a revolution that will change our destiny and the attitude of our countrymen!!!
Politics / Re: CP Orders Arrest Of Rivers’ Speaker. by Nkanuzu: 3:33pm On May 19, 2013
[quote author=~Bluetooth]

Who's the CP that he thinks he can't be challenged ? This is an abuse of office by ordering the arrest of the speaker least he would have done was to sue the speaker for defamation in the court of law but since the brain of an average policeman lies in the barrel of a gun, they trip over issues where they ought to take right decisions.

A quick look at the seditious claim by the the presidency against Gbenga Aruleba during the tokunbo plane saga, the guy floored the presidency in the court because the presidency didn't show transparency in the purchase of the aircraft. How will peace be achieved in Rivers state if the CP and the state government are at loggerhead with each other ?
Please be mindful of what you post online! Who told you that a speaker has immunity over prosecution or immunity from arrest/detention? Even a sitting gov could be interrogated and investigated if the need arises.
NYSC / Re: A Thread For Corpers Posted To Lagos State by Nkanuzu: 3:18pm On Mar 04, 2013
wilxz: For those coming in from other state to lagos for the first time. If your bus stops at ojota, take another bus going to oshodi. Most buses stop u at oshodi oke ( immediately after d bridge) on oshodi apapa expressway, Try walking down under the bridge onto Agege motor road (that's the expressway under the bridge) you can then board a bus going to iyana ipaja from there. When you get to iyana ipaja, I think its a 100bucks from there to d camp.

For those coming from d north, most times your buses tend to take you to oyingbo. Get a bus going to costain from oyingbo, when you get to costain, you board another bus going 2 ojuelegba (hope I got that spelling correctly). From ojuelegba, you get another bus going to oshodi. ( The bus from ojuelegba would stop u at oshodi but along the Agege motor road (that's the expressway under the bridge) you can then board a bus going to iyana ipaja from there. When you get to iyana ipaja, I think its a 100bucks from there to d camp.

For those coming in from the airport, well since you can afford that, you can as well afford to take the airport cab straight to the camp. Or if u want to get an adventure of the lagos hustle, (the airport is actually close to iyana ipaja). Walk to the closest bus stop, take a bus going toward the Agege motor road, cross over to the other side of the express road and join a bus going to iyana ipaja.

If the above direction is not clear enough, the get hold of a GPS enabled device when coming, either ur black berry, Iphone, Ipad, or android devices and log onto GOOGLE MAP.
U can also reach me at 275BDEAA bb pin. Or 0.8.1.7.1.3.2.8.1.2.1. Wishing u all a safe trip 2 lasgidi.
From Ojota, u can get a direct bus to Iyana Ipaja. Stop at the last bus stop and take Okada (N70 max)to the camp. From Oyingbo, u can go to Yaba and take Iyana Ipaja bus.

As an example, am having a date with a girl for 7yrs now, though we both still contemplating on marriage proposals because the both families are widely aware of it. Now i realize the same girl has a hidden relationship that i don't know about and now this is giving me a though time to believe am not been centered. Because at every point i tried to settle thing and make a good reconciliation, something will always struck my mind as i now realize the trust i have for her and her family has been swept off.

So in my situation what do you guys suggest i can do?

Politics / Re: Nonso-Maduakor Wrongfully Charged For Cynthia's Murder by Nkanuzu: 5:54pm On Aug 29, 2012
Get a good lawyer to prosecute this case for the young man. If what you posted is correct, then one can successfully bring a motion in court to quash the charges and save the poor man from the pains of facing murder trial and possible arraignment for murder. This can only be achieved if there is nothing in the Proof of Evidence incriminating the young man (particularly the statements the co-accused persons, his own statement to the police and IPO). However, the young man may be subsequently arraigned for dispensing drugs without prescription but certainly not for murder!
