Job Title: Farm Manager (Agronomy)



JOB DESCRIPTION

The position will be responsible for managing a new Maize / Plantain field, from strategic planning through to implementation; Geological surveys, layout of farm production process and providing professional advice to the management.



RESPONSIBILITIES

· Coordinate planting, irrigation, fertilizer application, harvesting, grading, and recordkeeping

· Manage Seed selection, crop yield, and nutritional requirement through the life cycle of crops; and solve problems of the farm.

· Managing relationship between the farm and Technical consultants, field staff and suppliers.

· Train and provide orientation to farm attendants and casual labour.

· Work with Farm Accountant to ensure accurate budgeting proper documentation of Farm Expenses and

· Maintaining and monitoring the quality of crop yield

· Perform other related duties as required or assigned



REQUIREMENT

Qualifications: B.Sc / HND in relevant Field

Experience:

· 4+ years of work experience, with at least 2 years of experience in Maize cultivation

· Commercial farming management experience

· Experience in irrigation management

· Good interpersonal and leadership skills

· Good hands-on computer skills using (using Ms-Excel and Word)



Other Skills / competences: Agricultural Extension Services

Desired Skills / competences: Agricultural Extension Services

Availability: Immediate – 4 weeks
