@OP - go to a busy street in asaba and carry a placard with this question boldly printed on it, an avalanche of projectiles should answer you question. |
In my opinion this move to make chinese compulsory is a very very forward looking, proactive step |
As much as I dstrust these ACN ppl they got this one very very right |
Sup supa troll!! You are one multi-talented hack. You can keep your head far up tinubu's ass blowing sycophantic air and type at the same time. Where in the article was tribalistic Eko Ile: this is the thing with ibo people. it doesn't matter how much education they get, they are still dangerously tribalistic to the core. I don't even see this kind of tribalistic rant coming from the likes of wole soyinka or any Yoruba leader. ibos are just too backward and primitive... |
Like I said in an earlier post, with benefit of hindsight we can all sit with our ipads and laptops and analyse what should have been done differently. We know that better decisions could have been made leading up to the war. However that is NOT the focus of the article. The article is particular about the despicable policies of starvation that had not been seen since the middle ages and the rodent-like opportunism that was the hallmmark of post-war policies that sought to disenfranchise and keep the igbo ppl on the ground. Especially as it was alleged that ojukwu deceiived his ppl and that there was no genocide. Rossikk: But what about the declaration of secession that led to the war? That wasn't done democratically. We seem to forget that none of these people acted in real consultation with the masses, or under any sort of political legitimacy. Ojukwu, Gowon, etc were military dictators. Thugs - aged 31 and 32 at the start of the war. Two small boys. What gave any of them the right to take the country to war? We often discuss them like they were Churchill and De Gaulle. They were thugs running around with more firepower than common sense. They weren't even supposed to be anywhere near the corridors of power. Who elected them? The barrel of the gun? |
I tell you what with benefit of hindsight we know things could have been done a bit differently. That does not take away the reality of things that happened in the prosecution of the war. Whether we realise it or not, war has rules. If two men are fighting it doesn't give the other the right to look for the other ones chiildren to murder. Okay the war had ended, what about the post-war policies, banning of commodities that would have helped igbo people get back on their feet. As for revisionism you haven't pointed out ONE lie in the article of which only an excerpt was posted. Anybody with the full article should please post so we can read it in full Ufeolorun: I find it difficult at times to understand why people blatantly refuse to take responsibility for their own actions. Ojukwu(rip) declared war and should be held responsible for all that happened. |
Let's not lose focus here bro. Achebe's article is not begrudging the nigerian state for winning the war. The article is spitting on the despicable policies enacted in the prosecution of the war that was against the globally accepted standards of humanity, even in war. The article is particular about the starvation policy that killed millions, the demonic dismissal of what that policy stood for by people who claimed that there was no genocide in the first place and the opportunism that attended the end of hosilities? I am happy you have admitted that awolowo took advantage of the war. Rossikk: Achebe comes across as a tribalist to me. Why does he not criticise those who declared 'Biafra' and put the lives of millions of Igbos at risk in so doing? Other nations that declare secession/war, do they not prepare for it? How can you go into battle with cutlass and light weapons against a country like Nigeria? It makes no sense, and Achebe attacking Awo and co for taking advantage of the Igbo leadership's stupidity makes no sense. Can you believe the Igbo leaders were banking on FRANCE to assist them and send them weapons? France are like TWINS with the UK. The strongest of allies. Not surprisingly the French abandoned Biafra once the war started, no doubt after a few closed door meetings with the Brits in Paris or London in smoke-filled rooms over Brandy. |
Nope this is called genius. The man called chinua achebe is a global literary collosus whose contributions to humanity will be celebrated for many generations to come seanet01: [size=25pt]This is called Senility!!! |
THIS Is the opposition leader in Nigeria. Nigeria has no leadership at all |
Obasanjo never won anything in his life fair and square. He rigged mercilessly using every possible member of the security agencies he could muster and u dey use that old devil dey boast. Shioor! dayokanu: ^^ You have been voting whatever you want for the longest and Lagos still remains in the hands of a Yoruba party. So that means your votes dont counmt in the grand scheme of things. |
Very funny but frightfully and shamefully off point. Someone reading your post would think that there igbos have been voting to remove a "yoruba" party from lagos. (Whatever the fvck that means) Abeg if u dey find ppl to fight I advise you look elsewhere because igbos no get time. For your information APGA has wrestled anambra and imo state from the pdp. Moreover they did it without invoking primordial ethnic sentiment or blackmail dayokanu: ^^ You have been voting whatever you want for the longest and Lagos still remains in the hands of a Yoruba party. So that means your votes dont counmt in the grand scheme of things. |
That was a deep and devastating curse o! Okadigbo really overstepped his boundaries when he insulted zik for criticising shagari. The people that cursed okadigbo were plenty |
Dude igbos like me will vote who we want to vote. We are not subject to your ethno-fascist rumblings. If I lived in lagos I would likely vote LP. But for the umpteenth time I want to ask you - why do you have to blackmail and swear war to arm-twist ppl into voting for your party. At the rest of your post, it baffles me as to how you guys keep spitting this mish-mash of 90 percent lies and ten percent truth about what happened in 1966. Did Azikiwe as a ceremonial president have the power to declare a state of emergency? Why did you leave out the angle that akintola used his influence with the northerners in power to clamp down on awo's influence. You guys are merciless when it comes to spinning history to suit your temporal positions Dudu_Negro: ......the die was cast when ACN brought Yorubaland under its fold. Are you blind, do you not see a reawakening of AG footprints? |

The only time the fg has turned boots on lagos since june 12 was during the fuel subsidy protests,in a case of orchestrated sectarian violence you will not believe what the outcome will look like. My people in lagos are more organised than you can ever imagine but nuff said for now. This country is bigger than any one tribe don't ever forget that, wet dreams of secession aside. But my question still remains - why are you jittery about your fascist oriented party losing? Abi u think they deserve to lose? Dudu_Negro: It wont be the first time govt turn boots loose on Lagos, neither will it be the first time stability of Lagos is rocked.......but it will be the first time ibo get a direct taste of Yoruba viciousness across the West. |
Dude quit the blackmail. Nobody is dragging leadership of lagos with you ppl. I've noticed your steady stream of careless threats of fire and brimstone on Igbos if ACN loses in 2015. Why are you worried that they may lose the election? Abi you think they deserve to lose. I voted fashola in for the second term when I still lived in lagos, so did many igbos like me. Its funny you aren't talking about that. Just be aware that any violence instigated over losing the next election will most likely give the PDP the opportunity to use the powers of police and other security agencies to hound the ACN merciilessly. It will also be catastrophic for the stability of lagos for a long time to come Dudu_Negro: .....whether ACN go or not, Yorubaland will remain in hands of Yoruba politicians....its a family affair! I do pity the inevitable collaterals that must end up battered in the aftermath eruptions. ACN 's loss is Ibo's loss in Yorubaland. Get a grip! |
ACM10 - biko hapu anumpama |
Illicit you are veering millions of miles off point. |
I'm trying to get your point. Every igbo man that took part in the coup? Its not clear. Please expansiate illicit: yea i have, every iboman who took part in d 1966 coup( ojukwu was on d federal side) and den took part in d civil war either actively or inactively and still hve d guts to write trash about it is a tribalist. |
Dude. Quit running after your own shadow and kindly tell me how chinua achebe is a tribalist. Have you read ANY of his books before illicit: on whose side did ojukwu fought durin d 1st millitary coup? hausas(N.A) or igbo(coupists)? he fought to keep d country together but later fell out cos he felt cheated, yes or no? |
@ OP - answer me sharp sharp! How is chinua achebe a tribalist? |
What kind of desperate patch-patch post be this one |
Nice one OP. I stumbled on a 2008 thread and I was really shocked at the difference betweeb the quality of discussions back then. Unfortunately these days this site has been taken over by ethnic extremists and paid social media hacks who are here to support a political party either directly or under the guise of speaking out for their tribes |
Shuo! |
Excuse me guvnor. Are you implying that boko haram is an organic reaction to unwanted non-indigenes as opposed to a political and religous terrorist group. That's one hell of a spin you put on it. Boko haram has absolutely nothing to do with the indigene question oga. Berom vs fulani maybe but not boko haram Katsumoto: I am educating you because you are ignorant and I am insulting you because you are an ignorant 'would be thief'. |
ACN through this action has shown its hand for what it really is, an ethnic secret society that seeks to maintain a stranglehold on the south west by marketing a fascist/xenophobic policy to yorubas disillusioned by the pdp's poison. This drive is led by a crop of carefully selected, averagely endowed politcians, spaced out/home sick diaspora based yorubas who have developed a twisted notion that a nation of yorubas led by the ACN will lead them from a dreary life packing meat iin factories to an oduduwa paradise. The tinubu ACN was born out of the evil and arrogance of the pdp but its fascist leanings are a much bigger threat to this continent. |
I friggn hate these politicians. Pdp blames unseen detractors while acn blames the pdp. At the end of the day the poor man pays for all of that one way or the other. This democracy is a joke.babaringa clad thieves in the center leeching on the national cake on one hand and local champs perenially pointing fingers with one hand and looting with the other |
Hypocrisy 101. These ACN mouthpieces need to think carefully before they speak. We know pdp is a coalition of thieves and occultists but before they complain of pdp shutting down fuel subsidy protests didn't lagos state sponsored thugs/pro-govt protesters attack peaceful protesters at the lekki toll gate. They later accused them of being pdp agents I guess kate henshaw who was among the protesters is a pdp member. |
