PoliticsRe: Come 2019, With Or Without A Buhari Win, Tinubu Will Be Permanently Retired. by nku5: 4:36pm On Jul 28, 2018
TylerDurden:
Tinubu, as a politician is a "dead man walking".

With or without a Buhari win in 2019, Tinubu is bound to be disgraced, humilated and his political empire destroyed forever.

The alliance with Buhari and his CPC was not properly negotiated by Tinubu because he(Tinubu) miscalculated that he will still get the backing of the WH which he believed will be secured with a Hilary Clinton win. For your info, Tinubu has been a major donor and financier of both the Clinton Foundation and the US DNC party. Tinubu was introduced the Clintons via Gilbert Chagoury sometime in early 1997. Gilbert Chagoury was a major international fixer and Money launder for the Abacha regime. It is on this flaky foundation of having a secured White House pass with a then almost guaranteed Hilary Clinton win, that made Tinubu not to iron out a rock solid agreement with Buhari and his Islamofascist CPC.

With a Clinton loss, Tinubu had no ace to check Buhari and with the current incumbent occupier of the White House embroiled in a fictitious "Russian collusion" scandal, it is safe to say the Donald isn't going to be sticking his neck in any other Nation's election talk less of this latrine of a Nation called Nigeria.

This is what Buhari knows. That Tinubu, who Obasanjo could not tackle because of his then powerful Clinton connection, is now nothing but a bloody civilian who can be dealt and swept away.

It is for this reason that Buhari is pushing to have Tinubu de-feathered and he is propping several of Tinubu's own proteges like Fayemi and Fashola to douse his influence in his backyard. The disgrace meted Tinubu by his own party in Ondo and Kogi as well as in the National Assembly should have served as a pointer to Tinubu that whatever influence and weight he once had within the party has long expired.

By 2019, Buhari will not need any Lagos based marketing and online opioning crafting shills to persuade Nigerians to vote for him. The savvy campaign that re-branded Buhari and put him into the saddle can never be replicated because Nigerians now know Buhari as an unrepentant despotic Tyrant. Buhari will thus have no other choice than to rig himself back into power with the federal might at his disposal.

If by chance Buhari gets re-elected (God forbid), the unbundling of Tinubu will begin. Buhari has come to see Tinubu as an annoying nuisance. The likes of Amosun in Ogun is most likely to be in control of the APC SW as Buhari is known to be fond of that Afonja.

In the scenario that Buhari and the APC is not returned to power in 2019, I see big trouble coming the way of Tinubu from political foes who will permanently want to have him disgraced and jailed. The likes of Saraki will not spare a thought in having Tinubu jailed neither will Atiku and other powerful opposition figures.

It is thus safe to say that the sun is setting on Tinubu and his corrupt political empire and by God I am loving it.
Buhari no send Tinubu at all. By 2019 it will be all over for him wallahi grin

SW is already crowded. With Fayemi picking Ekiti State it means that the only governors loyal to him are Aregbesola and Ambode.

Tinubu wanted his paddy Lanre Edun to be Finance Minister but Amosun brought Kemi Adeosun to fall his hand grin I even heard that the NYSC scandal was leaked by Tinubu's goons to force Buhari to sack her but still kolewerk! grin grin

OP- Ask Sarumi and Bamanga Tukur for a start

"In the twilight of General Yakubu Gowon’s administration in the mid-1970s, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) was battling with the problems of ports congestion as a result of massive cement importation.
The government decided to build two new ports to ease the transaction costs associated with shipping and to ensure adequate facilities for Nigeria’s import and export needs.
A feasibility study was carried out and the experts recommended the creation of two new ports; one in Lagos and another in Ibaka, in present day Akwa Ibom State. These projects were contained in the 3rd National Development Plan.
The one in Lagos is the Tin-Can Island Port commissioned by the then Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, and deputy to then military Head of State, Genera Olusegun Obasanjo, now late Major-General Shehu Yar’Adua on 14th October, 1977.
Ibaka Port was never constructed, purportedly on the advice of the then Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and current Chairman of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) – Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.
I heard Tukur’s argument was that instead of starting a new port from scratch, the same resources could be used to revive existing and nearby Calabar Port.
Government bought his argument and a huge amount I’m still trying to find out was used to revive the port. The new Calabar Port Complex was commissioned on 9th June, 1979.
I heard Alhaji Tukur has a wife from Calabar. Now I’m not sure if his wife influenced his decision or if his support for Calabar port made the community bless him with their daughter. But anyhow, it is clear that the decision is a wrong one because Calabar Port is still moribund.
Fast forward to 2006 when Alhaji Bamanga Tukur’sson, the iconic Chief Adebayo Babatunde Sarumi, was in charge of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
A princely sum of 56 million dollars (about N9 billion) was spent on dredging the Calabar Port channel.

The dredging contract was awarded to two dredging firms: Messrs Jan de Nul and Van Oord. The federal government divided the entire length of the channel in Calabar Port between the two firms.
While Van Oord was paid $26 million to dredge kilometre 0 to 46, Jan de Nul got $30 million to dredge kilometre 46 to 84. According to the scope of the contract, the two firms were to scoop out 25 million cubic metres of sand to achieve an overall draft of 8 metres to allow big vessels call at the port.
Not one big ship has called at the port ever since because while the companies collected their monies and walked away, the channel remains as shallow as ever.
Of course the appreciative Calabar community honoured Chief Sarumi with a chieftaincy title."

PoliticsRe: A Message To The Igbos. by nku5: 6:51pm On Jul 26, 2018
wakaman:
As events unfold politically, the igbos are yet to realise the need for alliances and bridge building, they are still neck deep in the game of tribal, religious and political rhetorics.
Igbos have continued to play in bad blood, villifying other political, religious and tribal players, not bringing viable solutions to the table of citizenship.

Particularly, they have been villifying other tribes especially the Yorubas, and recently the fulani tribe.

From the last election upon emergence of PMB as the president, they have sought to defame, sabatoge and utterly destroy the Nigerian entity with their unverified supplications and unguarded utterances also a run off imagination.
They have attached the president politically, religiously and tribally, they have taken this further to vilify his Fulani heritage.

I write this piece to bring to the burner that the igbos are only making more adversaries for them themselves for there might have been citizens of Fulani extraction sympathetic and empathic to the Igbo man's bane in Nigerian politics, but surely all that goodwill is evaporated now.

Igbos have a rethink, you can't be doing the same thing the same way and get a different result.

PS- No matter how the Fulani is villified or demonized by the igbos as they have done to other tribes and even amongst themselves. Most non Igbo Nigerians would rather parley with the Fulani than the igbos.

Your ascension to presidency in Nigeria is axled on this realisation.
Your problem is ignorance and hate.

For many years, the Lagos/Ibadan expressway media kept dishing out falsehood after falsehood about what caused the war in a desperate bid to please their caliphate masters and to cover up the disgraceful fact that while Ojukwu was fighting for the freedom of his people, they were busy pledging their eternal slavery to the caliphate.

To this day, you will still see one ignoramus after the other come on Nairaland to say "Ojukwu caused the war", "He started a fight he could not win", "Ojukwu decived his people into war and caused the death of millions"

Foolishness at its peak because people can't go to a Library and read Nigerian history.

Long before the January 1966 coup, Igbos were already at the receiving end of the excesses of the North. Northerners massacred Igbo in Jos in 1945. They massacred Igbos again in Kano in 1953. So anyone thinking that the massacre of Igbos in the North in 1966 was becausr of the fallout from the January coup of that same year is ignorant. The killing of Igbos was a regular thing long before 1966.

When the killings of Easterners was happening and Gowon, who had seized power, was helpless to do anything about it, several groups approached Ojukwu and asked him to declare the Eastern Region a separate country. Ojukwu knew that doing so would lead to civil war so he declined and chose instead to sit down with Gowon in Ghana to find lasting peace. After 2 days of discussions, Gowon and Ojukwu reached an agreement called the Aburi accord. In return for keeping to the agreement, Ojukwu would recognise Gowon as head of state and Nigeria would remain one.

Gowon came back to Nigeria and broke the terms of the agreement by dissolving the 4 Regions and creating 12 states. This left Ojukwu with no choice than to declare Biafra.

Gowon by his actions caused the war by going back on the agreement he signed in Ghana
My brother the internet has killed Lagos-Ibadan Express media lies forever. It's so easy to bust the propaganda and have millions of people read the truth. Honestly i feel sorry for Gowon. I do not know if you are aware that the counter coup of
July 29, 1966 lasted from May to October. That is 6
months. For 6 months, a section of this country was
butchered while Gowon looked the other way same way
we he is accusing Buhari of looking the other way over
Miyetti Cattle Killing of his people. Does Gowon have any moral right to call for the arrest of anyone? Who did he arrest in 1966?

Some of the Actors were (pay attention to the names)
Joseph Akahan
Murtala Mohammed
Theophilus Danjuma
Abba Kyari
Martin Adamu
Shittu Alao (this man is from Kwara)
Musa Usman
Capt. Joseph Garba
Capt. Ibrahim Taiwo
Capt. Abdul Wya
Lt. Moahmmadu Buhari
Ibrahim Babangida
William Walbe
Mamman Vatsa
Buka Suka Dimka
James Onoja
Abdullah Shelleng
Sani Abacha
Muhammad Gado Nasko
John Shagaya
Paul Chabri Tarfa

If the counter coup of July 1966 was a revenge to the
"Igbo" coup and killing of Northern leaders, what was
Danjuma and his likes doing in the counter coup?
Chief Festus Okotie Eboh was killed in that coup? Remind me where he comes from and the name of his ethnic military officer who participated to avenge his death.

But we of course know the counter coup was not a
revenge to the 1st coup but an avenue to vent pent up
frustrations over perceived domination.
Read what Max Siollun said
---------------------------------------------------------
As Max Siollun put it in Chapter 1 pg 16-17 of his book
OIL, POLITICS AND VIOLENCE,
"Out of Nigeria's ethnic matrix, Igbos distinguished
themselves by becoming the most prominent and
commercially successful. They were educated, adventurous and hardworking. When the expatriate British workers departed, Igbos moved quickly to fill their clerical, administrative and technical jobs. In the impoverished Northern Region, the Igbos commercial success, Christianity and Westernized manner did not endear them to some of their Northern neighbours. Northerners grumbled about and bitterly resented, the huge numbers of Igbo migrants who in their view were taking all their best jobs already occupied by the Igbos who were generally far better educated (little attention was paid to the fact that the Northern Region did not have enough skilled or educated workers to fill all these posts). As a successful economic migrant population, like other economically successful migrant ethnicities in other countries, they were resented and cast in the role of scape goats. They were even referred to as "Jews of Africa". The title was not fanciful, as many Igbos did regard themselves as a special or "chosen" race and valued personal achievement highly. Igbos were exceptionally intelligent, innovative and resourceful , and they knew it. However, their confidence in their abilities sometimes crossed over into outbursts of chest thumping pride that antagonize other ethnic groups".
----------------------------------------------------------------
The events of January 15, 1966, gave Northerners an
opportunity to vent their frustrations. Recall that in May
1953, a delegation from the AG which was a leading
Yoruba party scheduled a visit to Kano. NPC leaders were opposed to the visit and called it "territorial violation". They were angry that AG booed and jeered them in Lagos during the debate for self government which the North opposed. When the Yoruba AG visited Kano, violence ensued NOT between Yorubas and Hausa-Fulani like one would expect. Northern mobs instead attacked and murdered scores of Igbos. The killings of 1953 was nothing compared to what Gowon stood by and watched happened in the revenge coup of July 1966.

What did Gowon do over the insecurity of 1966? Nothing
Decapitated and badly mutilated corpses arrived the
Eastern region. Separatists sentiments increased in the
East. Contrary to what is widely believed, Ojukwu was
actually a moderating voice in a sea of Igbo hawks who
wanted to secede. Despite his refusal to recognise Gowon as the supreme commander, he co-operated with Gowon by enuring that no Northern soldier was harmed in the East. He took them home unharmed. Please fact check this.

It is same man that people today call ambitious.
He also went to Aburi well prepared. The rest of them
arrived unprepared, Ojukwu arrived armed with notes and
secretaries. All because he wanted peace to reign.
Ojukwu was the only participant who knew what he
wanted. Some claimed he took the SMC for a ride by
using superior intelligence to trap the officers into an
agreement they did not understand. Who cares? Ojukwu
was engaged in a constitutional debate with himself
against 5 military officers and two police officers
(probably enrolled based on quota system), yet he got his way.
Do you blame Ojukwu for outwitting opponents that
outnumbered him by 7 to 1? That agreement was never
implemented. Gowon reneged on it. Today he is making
noise about security situation. The same man who
supervised the killing of people without lifting a finger.
On what grounds should the leader of Miyetti be arrested?

PoliticsRe: The Story Of Corporal Nwafor The Armoured Tank by nku5(op): 6:54pm On Jul 17, 2018
While Nwoke was firing for Corporal Nwafor, his friend, Sylvester Etta, from Obubra, was the gunner for Oguta Boy. Behind the wheels of Corporal Nwafor was, Daniel Lawrence, an Ikom boy born to an English woman, from Liverpool. His battle name was ‘Pampas of Argentina.’ Nwoke and Lawrence did a lot with Corporal Nwafor. They fought from Uzuakoli to Ikot Ekpene, from Okigwe to Port Harcourt and back to Owerri. The lads saw death, they defied death. Corporal Nwafor died in battle, or was ‘injured’ and could not continue with the war. That was in July 1969 at Ohuba on the way to recapture Port Harcourt. It fell into a ditch. Col. Olusegun Obasanjo, was GOC of Nigeria’s dreaded Third Marine Commando division which the Biafrans christened ‘come and die.’ According to Lt.Col Alabi Isama, Obasanjo sent Lt. Col. Godwin Ally, an Obubra man, to confront the Biafrans. He lost 1,000 soldiers and was lucky to come out alive. The GOC also survived but there was rumour that he died and some of his loved ones went in search of his body at the University College Hospital[UCH], Ibadan. Corporal Nwafor, the soldier, represented bravery which is the hall mark of soldiering. There were warriors on both sides who are alive today, 48 years after the war. Officers like Alabi Isama,Alani Akinrinade,Assam Nsudoh, E.A. Utuk, Archibong and August Okpe. Okpe was Chief Pilot of the Biafra Air Force and was 26 when hostilities ceased in 1970. The story of the Biafra Air Force must be told. They had no single aircraft in July 1967 as the war started. Okpe, from Ihiagwa, son of a Second World War veteran and now father of an American officer who saw battle in Kuwait as part of Operation Desert Storm, was one of the 16 pioneer cadets of the Nigeria Air Force in 1963. He trained in Canada and the United States respectively. It took the lion hearts of Captain Ibi Allwell-Brown, Mark Odu,Sam Inyagha and Onuora Nwanya to hijack a Nigeria Airways F-27 plane, piloted by the duo of P. Singh and Tokunbo Williams on April 23, 1967. The flight originally bound for Lagos from Benin, was diverted to Enugu. That was Biafra’s first aircraft. Willy Achukwu invented Ogbunigwe, served as bomb. Swedish humanitarian, Count Carl Gustav Von Rosen, later brought many minicons, MFI-9B, better known as Biafran Babies. Biafra, despite the superior air power of Nigeria backed by Egyptian pilots, flying Russian MIG 17s, which could not help them in 1967 war with Israel, stayed airborne till the end. Capt. Okpe was brilliant in the air and also saw but survived death severally. Somewhere around Ifitte Ukpo in 1969, he was as good as gone. When he defied anti aircraft fire and landed there were holes all over his fighter jet. He received the Military Cross from General Emeka Ojukwu.

PoliticsThe Story Of Corporal Nwafor The Armoured Tank by nku5(op): 6:53pm On Jul 17, 2018
Fifty years ago, a young man fighting on the side of Biafra during the Civil War entered record books when a Saladine Armoured tank was named after him, post humous. Corporal Nwafor, of B Company, 29 Battalion, 54 Brigade under 11 Division became a dead hero among his people. War-affected police officer cheer as they receive pension It was June 30, 1968. Brothers, Nigeria and Biafra, were at war. Federal troops were advancing to Onitsha from Enugu, shelling and firing from tanks. At Ugwu Nwasike, Ogidi, about 20 kilometres to the commercial town, the overwhelmed Biafrans were almost giving up when Nwafor hit target. He fired the only anti tank weapon available to the entire brigade, a 73mm bazooka and it hit an advancing saladine. A second tank which tried to engage reverse gear fell into a ditch. The Biafrans tried to retrieve the tanks in a bloody fight that ensued. In the process, Nwafor, lost his life. Biafra gained the weapons of mass destruction. The saladine was named Corporal Nwafor. Probably the first time an armoured tank would be named in the memory of a Non Commissioned Officer. That battle earned the GOC of the Biafran 11th division, Col Patrick Chiedu Amadi, promotion to the rank of a One-star general. Col. Conrad Nwawo, of 13th division was also promoted to the rank of Brigadier. Brigade commander, Maj. Linus Ohanehi, was overlooked. A memorial was held for Nwafor in Umuoji. While service was going on, a Nigeria Air Force bomber appeared in the air. The priest looked up to God and asked everyone not to panic but remain inside. All but one man did. He was the only one hit by a bomb. Biafran engineers had to work on Corporal Nwafor before it could go back to the battle field. From Umudike, headquarters of Research and Production[RAP] emerged a rebranded war machine. When the hard vehicle came out, it was given to the 45th armoured battalion, commanded by Maj. Juventus Chijioke Ojukwu whose troops were based at St. Silas School, Umuahia. One remarkable thing about Corporal Nwafor was that the soldier who manned the Browning machine gun attached to it, was 16-year-old school boy, Sasa Nwoke. His studies at Government Secondary School, Afikpo were halted by the war. The Ohafia lad joined the Biafra Army on January 29, 1968 and was identified as BA 61832. Nwoke’s family did not know the day he finally made it to the army. It did not have anything to do with the fact that his elder sister was married to Major Emeka Ananaba, of the Biafran commando Division. Corporal Nwafor, the armoured car, was one of the few the Biafrans had. In the beginning there were Red Devils before they captured a made in France Panhard just as saladines, sarasins and ferrets also came. And the deadly vehicles were given names like Oguta Boy, Uzuakoli Boy and Ndidi.

PoliticsNYSC DG Under Pressure To Cover Adeosun - Premium Times by nku5(op): 5:56pm On Jul 10, 2018
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/275663-exclusive-pressure-mounts-on-nysc-to-cover-up-adeosungate.html

The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has come under intense pressure since the publication of an exclusive story by PREMIUM TIMES exposing how finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, avoided the obligatory national service and fraudulently obtained an exemption certificate.

Mrs Adeosun, who graduated at 22 in 1989 from the University of East London, ought not to have been issued with a Certificate of Exemption of the service. The minister does not fall in the category of those entitled for exemption.

The story has generated outrage from Nigerians who asked the minister to resign from her post or be fired by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Details published by this newspaper on Monday showed that the purported certificate was among the set of documents submitted by the minister for her appointment and screening in 2015.

NYSC management on Monday issued a rather vague press statement distancing itself from the certificate paraded by Mrs Adeosun, but at the same time claiming it was investigating its source. It confirmed the minister had applied for the certificate.

Mrs Adeosun is yet to respond to the issues raised, 72 hours after publication of the story.

Many Nigerians were unsatisfied by the NYSC’s response with some seeing it as a first step in giving the minister a dubious cover.

PREMIUM TIMES understands that the press statement was extracted off the NYSC after a high-level lobbying and pressure mounted on the director general of the service, Suleiman Kazaure.

Mr Kazaure, a brigadier general, was said to have come under severe pressure since the publication on Saturday with a governor believed to be Mrs Adeosun’s godfather repeatedly reaching out to the NYSC boss.

Also in the league to persuade the NYSC to “help the minister out” is a senior government minister. The minister is said to be working round the clock “to avert a PR disaster for the government”.

The two politicians are said to be playing the cards of national interest and the need to save the government from embarrassment to the director general.

Mr Kazaure is said to have resisted the initial pressure but was later cajoled to give a non-committal statement pending the presidency taking final position on the matter.

“If you read the NYSC statement it is non-committal at all, although they tactically disowned the document,” said a source familiar with the issues. “They can come out tomorrow and say even though the woman applied, no certificate was issued. But if the pressure is sustained they can own up to the flawed certificate.”

The atmosphere at the NYSC secretariat was charged throughout Monday with senior officials locked in winding meetings to find a solution to the scandal at hand.
