So some people actually believe that protesters broke prison. Smh!

How? From the videos, the prisoners were released from inside and they scaled the fence to escape. Who provided them with the leverage they needed to escape from inside?

Someone inside the prisons took advantage of the protests to perfect a job they had been hatching for long.
Go and find out from people that were in Uniben in 1989 how it was done. That was during the time of IBB, a mean dictator. This generation dey think say na dem start protest because there are now mobile phones to post it on social media and take selfies.

This protest is turning into something else. I hope the protesters don't lose their advantage and goodwill.
Already lost. #EndSARS will be dead in Edo state by 4pm today with the curfew.

Once the #EndSARS protests was allowed to get into the inner streets of the cities, it was a lost cause because hoodlums were going to hijack it.

we have dry and wet haulage ..trucks carry more than 30 tonnes but fashola is trying to stop it ....in wet haulage we have 33,000 litres (standards 30 tonnes) 45000 litres and now 60000 litres tankers ..i give drivers 1000 litres Ago to Abuja from Lagos ,1300 to kano ,1100 to kano , 700 litres to kanji,1600 to yola , 1000 to benue , 900 to ph 1400 to jos ....the dangote/howo or shagman truck carry 900 bags of cements that around 45 tonnes......its better u buy your truck it increase profitability and efficiency of the supply chain network....in doing that your should buy double Axel truck either Mack r model or daf 85 (3300) double Axel to move the 900 tonne easy ....for it to be profitable and sustainable..u should lease the truck to your company ... (meaning separate the truck cash flow from your firm)...despite own by u .....at the end of the year the truck must have a p/l accounts and can also source for jobs on it own whem company work is less ........we use an average of 0.6 litres per 1km on 45 tonne truck
...truck are now expensive double Axel will set u back above 8m excluding carrier ..pls do comprehensive and G.i.t insurance ..it a must to survive
Interesting and insightful. Never knew trucks consume such a huge amount of Ago when on a trip. Is the Ago tank big enough to take 1000 litres at once?.

The youths must make life miserable for comfortable saboteurs , who are happy with the status quo.

Don't hate the country, hate the system.
The world has never been balanced.

Do you know at what age my father was a labourer?. Do you know at what age i was a labourer?. My children are no labourers at those ages.

The protest must have vision and mission,I have been attending several of this protests and found out that there are many underlying issues above just reform Sars.....WAR/civil unrest is not good strategy to achieve anything....youth can now channel this new found energy to vote out this old men that have put the Nation in misery via endless looting ,nepotism ,divide and rule tactics...and alway be there as a pressure group to demand that things are done right ....but in getting new young leaders we should be careful not to produce another dino, yahaya bello and co ....the recently remove NANS is an example using benz x class as official car .....the human resource to drive a new Nigeria is not available until the youth also scrap the mentality of wealth without work ,over night riches, fraud etc .....am amazed somebody called yahoo yahoo a business..
You forgot to mention Desmond Elliot who said prior to Edo state election that he was happy to be a product of godfatherism and a 'slave'.

Any black person who doesn't have a goal to see Africa great ain't an ally.

I know Nigeria has problems, let's divide ourselves into group's and start tackling them.

Most of the problems solved in Europe were done by industrialists and scientists not the president's.

Buhari is 1000 times better than his predecessors, but he's is definitely not doing enough, a lot of the hindrance is coming from those working with him and the useless state governments and yes citizens.

Instead of bothering us with constant Western propaganda, which i know is false ,

Here are your options

Revolt
Elect people who will serve
Disintegrate the country structurally
Tackle persistent issues using community standards

Sick of the constant complaining without actions.
Most Nigerians are quick to blame the President without focusing on their LGA Chairman, State Governor, House of Reps member and Senator. They want the President to come down from Aso Rock to fix their LGA roads and Primary schools despite the federal allocation given to the LGA. Check out how much a state like Delta state or Bayelsa state has collected as FAAC with nothing to show for it but their people will continue to attribute their plight to the President. Second base jare. cool

I wont put it exactly the way you put it

Even though you are right

How I would put it, is that America gives you the financial incentive to be fiscally irresponsible
And if you go down that road
You will have yourself to blame

When there is nothing wrong with the tv and game console you bought say 10 months ago
Why do you see the need to buy another one?
Especially as you can barely afford it

Your current iPhone is still very functional
And its not even up to 22 months since it was released
Then all of a sudden you want to ditch that one and get anotherundecided

Or a lower income person see the need to periodically change his car and get stuck with a $400 car note undecided

Which kind destructive psychology be this ?

I think one of the best things to happen to anybody is when he gets a grip of his finances and consumption patterns.
And live by the motto :
Spend less than you make
And if you cant afford it
Dont buy it

It's a good lesson that takes one far
Do you now see why such are brought to Nigeria as fairly used and people now think they are being bought because of poverty.

The arguments for or against being abroad will never end because basically, both countries are not the same.. however, what people must understand is that living abroad is basically a bubble and only a very small percentage of Nigerians are really happy or fulfilled.

Case in point, I was watching cnn a couple of days ago and they mentioned Trump was ending discussions regarding another bailout to citizens. The anchor clearly said 7 out of. 10 families will be unable to feed by the end of October unless the bailout deal is agreed.

This is the part I do not understand, For a society that is supposedly the dream of everyone, why is it so hard to have savings? Covid started and just a few weeks after, people were begging for food and queuing for food stamps..

This simply means that a vast majority of Americans or whites simply live from paycheck to paycheck and can only afford many things through credit.. it also means a vast majority is groaning under the weight of outrageous bills and utilities.

The average middle class nigerian has millions saved up in his account.. That is in the thousands of dollars and would likely survive even without a job for many months..

My submission is that the system is designed for you to make money, spend it all on bills, live on credit and get stuck working almost forever.:

Nigeria has its ills, plenty self but if I have good money, I would not consider staying abroad on any single metric... Billionaires abound in nigeria and they are not complaining..

My two cents!
The society is built on consumption on credit. If you have access to almost everything on credit, there is the tendency to live above your means. Ahib once gave an example of a mall attendant who because of access to credit will buy a latest Iphone and other things. At the end of the month, once deductions are made for all the things from the paycheck, what is left is just to feed and transport.

And forget all those kidnapping and health jargon, majority of people (especially in their 20's - 30's) leave for economic reasons.

There is high unemployment in Nigeria, and even if you were hardworking, there is a dearth of opportunities.

That said, there exists a small percentage that wants to leave because of other secondary reasons like security, health, passport e.t.c but a huge chunk wan japa because of money.

The same way young boys leave the East to come to Lagos to hustle is the exact same way people leave Nigeria to the abroad. I once worked in Kano and had people tell me they can't relocate to Kano because of security and so on. I was shocked to see them resume when my company gave some of them an offer.

Na money everybody they find. From 2face to Burna Boy to Davido, even as they seek international appeal, are all predominantly based in Nigeria.

Every other thing is secondary, don't let anyone bobo you on a faceless forum.

Do whichever makes sense for you, but don't force your opinion on other people.

Let those that want to stay, stay.
Let those that want to go, go.
Let those that are abroad and want to come, come.
"Let those that want to stay, stay.
Let those that want to go, go.
Let those that are abroad and want to come, come."

Gbam.

This has been my take anywhere i see the argument of abroad vs stay.

Lol... It seems Abdulsamad Rabiu's strategy at BUA group is "Copy Dangote". Dangote went into sugar and flour. They did same. Dangote sold his flour business. They did same. Dangote is into cement. They did same (at least, this broke the myth that government will kill destroy anyone who tries to enter cement business to protect dangote). Now, they recently gave out contract to a French company to build a 200,000bpd refinery in Akwa Ibom.

Reminds of one business case I came across a while back about MacDonalds and one other restaurant company (I think its Pizza Hut). Pizza Hut waits for McDonald's to do all the business and site analysis and immediately MacDonalds open a new branch, Pizza Hut does same and opens a branch opposite them.
Good strategy. No need re-inventing thd wheel.

I have done a bit of reading too on some experiences of a few tech startup under pressure due to VC equity injected into their business. I am not sure i[b]f I am right, but I think I once read a blog post from Jason Njoku where he wrote that if given another chance, he would not take VC money and consider bootstrapping while reinvesting income for growth. You can never move from a rice importer to producing your own rice without major hiccups....... The learning curve is a physical law which all Nigerians have to appreciate and our leaders too should encourage Nigerians to patronize made in Nigeria to enable the manufacturers leap over the learning curve.....

You can never compete with Thailand and India in Rice which their people have farmed for generations and built a world class industry around it in just 10 years.....

The Govt need to beg Nigerians to eat local rice or source local alternative while we work at self reliance........... They also need to practice what they preach,it's not when a government official that want to bury his mother in the village is using federal might to bring in Thai rice for the ceremony........ What kind of message can such an official be passing to the general populace
Learning curve is shorter these days because you do not need to re-invent the wheel. Study what others have done and adapt to yours.

Not really, your suggestions is like telling me to open a similar site like nairaland or Facebook, it is hard to dismiss a strong competitor like BBN, with all their already existing resources and structure.
I am trying to think like an American on how to plug myself in somewhere to the already existing BBN structure.

Right now, banks I believe earn some parts of the money, sms resellers earn some, etc... there has to be place to plug in somewhere.
Start by tearing the show to shreds by saying that it is called Big Brother Nigeria but they have both males and females and that the name is a discrimination against women. After trending with that, you then start 'Real Big Brother(RBB)' with only males and also Big Sister Nigeria(BSN) with only females or Big Brother and Sister Nigeria(BBSN). cool

You are quite right. I only focused on the catholic schools as i did an extensive research and study on them when my kids were preparing for secondary school because i wanted them to attend catholic boarding schools. The schools are quite many. I have not even scratched the surface. The first thing a newly created catholic diocese does is to establish schools and health institutions.

Self awareness is a big issue.

You want to conquer an already developed place but can't see any opportunities in a barren land.

The middle class Nigerians are supposed to be the light of Nigeria , but they can't see beyond their noses.
