Rosemary Sugh, a 23-year old graduate of Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, was born on November 14, 1992...and according to an interview she granted last year, she has flown three planes so far, a TD9, a TD20, and a Multi Engine, B68.

Speaking about why she became a pilot, Rosemary, who is from Kwande local government area of Benue state. said; It was my childhood determination. When I look up and see planes flying and making noise , I was like, God, I have to be a pilot. And it helped me in the sense that the kind of movies I watched, one of the movies was Starship Trooper. There was a lot of discouragement from my parents and other people. They assumed that if you are a lady and you are a pilot, you may not marry, you can’t cope with marriage. So, when I saw a lady in that Starship Trooper, I was moved. I said wow, if this girl can fly, then I can fly. And I put it into prayers, despite all the obstacles and discouragement."

Chairman of the community’s vigilante team, Mr Olise Igbede, who spoke on the incident, said that some indigenes were at the bank of a river at Adonishaka Quarter of the community when 10 herdsmen accosted them about 6.30 p.m.

Disclosing that eight of the herdsmen were armed with AK-47 guns and the other two with cutlasses, he said: “They were asking our boys if this is Ebedei community and demanded to know why we are against cattle grazing.

“Our boys told them that they did not know what they were talking about and immediately, the herdsmen started beating them with their cutlasses and the boys raised alarm, which attracted other villagers.

“Later, about 7.30 p.m., they started shooting and some of the people, mostly women, started running out of the community to neighbouring towns. Later, the vigilante mobilized and proceeded towards the river. When the herdsmen saw us coming, they ran away. Five minutes later, they started shooting again and we went to the river and removed the wooden bridge to prevent them from crossing over into the village. Presently, we are still watching the river to avoid any surprises,” he said.

Kogi considering total ban on cattle grazing – Commissioner

By Wale Odunsion April 13, 2017@dailypostngr

Kogi State Government on Wednesday said it may enact laws that would ensure total ban on cattle grazing in the state.

The government said it was considering the option due to unabated farmers-herdsmen conflicts.

Kehinde Oloruntoba, Commissioner for Agriculture, spoke in Lokoja at an advocacy meeting with Small Scale Women Farmers Organisation of Nigeria (SWOFON). “All the same, if the measures fail, we will not hesitate go to the House of Assembly to get a law, prohibiting the activities of herdsmen in the state”, he said. “But that will be our last option. We may not need to go to that extreme of prohibiting the herdsmen’s activities if they all agree to live harmoniously with others and refrain from destroying farm crops”, he added.

Oloruntoba said that the national executives of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association and some officials of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture recently visited the state to organise a sensitisation programme for herdsmen and farmers.

The official observed noted that more women were engaged in agriculture than men. “If we want agriculture to succeed, we must ensure that women are given their rightful position in all our policies”, he said.

He pledged that women farmers would not be marginalised in government’s agricultural programmes.

As shared by Charles,

BLOOD OF DENEN CRIES OUT FOR HIS KILLERS AND ASAWA.

I watched with tears as a 19 year old boy was lowered to the grave with his mom whom went unconscious and his dad weeping like a ten year old baby.

]Today Mark a black history for Lagudu family of konshisha as little Mr Denen Lagudu whom was murdered during the massacre of innocent souls by unknown gunmen on 20 March 2017 at Zaki biam yam market on his way back from school was laid to rest at Tse_Lagudu mbagbe, Shangev Tiev ,Konshisha local government area of Benue state.

Demi as he is fondly called by friends and family member, was on his way from school happily after he wrote his last paper only to meet his untimely death by unknown gunmen whom killed over 25 persons, destroyed properties and left hundreds wounded.

Immediately Gov Ortom visited Zaki biam to get first hand information with other stakeholders like Hon Paul Biam, BT ashaver, Prof Kpelai , Abu king Shuluwa and many others except our Honourable representative from sankera Hon Emmanuel Udende whom was absent and has refused to visit the affected people to console with them till date.

Gov Ortom whom express shocked at the destruction of properties and death toll ordered the immediate pass chairman of ukum honourable Moses Asawa to transfer all wounded victims to teaching hospital makurdi for proper treatment and gave Asawa a sum of five million naira to ensure proper burial for those murdered by the unknown gunmen. Unfortunately Mr Moses Asawa ran away with the said sum and nothing has been done about it till date.

The family of late Denen spent almost two hundred and fifty thousand to remove the corpse from the mortuary and transportation to shangev Tiev despite Ortom release of the five million for that purpose, nothing has been received by the deceased families and no injured person has been move to teaching hospital as directed by Ortom.

Now dishonorable Moses Asawa the former chairman of ukum is on the run as even handover, the man has not handed over to DGSA as directed by Ortom due to financial recklessness and embezzlement of local government fund's.

The blood of Denen would certainly catch up with his killer's and those that ate the money met for his final departure.

God bless you my brother.

The corruption we are witnessing under this present administration is the type that has not been witnessed.

These guys now hide under the canopy of consultants to steal from the poor masses.

In Benue State for instance, the govenor has hired a consultant for payment of workers salaries.
Most workers are usually underpaid with a wide difference, payment slip is not issued so that you have no evidence to prove that you have not been short changed.

A civil servant that earns about N150,000 will be underpaid by N70,000 to N100,000. But have no place to lay his/her complaints.

The consultant only asks you to produce your Bank statement. But the Bank statement does not show details of your payment status and your balance shall never the paid.

Workers are still owed despite the three different financial interventions from the President to enable the Gov clear all outstanding arrears.

This change is a scam!!!

goldcoinhub:

Two middle-aged persons, Debora Fojo and Musa Garba, on Friday appeared before a Malumfashi Chief Magistrates’ Court in Katsina State for alleged breach of trust and cheating.

The two were accused of collecting N429,000 to invest in an online business called MMM.

МММ was a Russian company that perpetrated one of the world’s largest Ponzi schemes of all time, in the 1990s. By different estimates, from five to 40 million people, Nigerians inclusive, lost up to $10bn.

Fojo and Garba are residents of Government Girls Secondary School Malumfashi Quarters and Unguwar Danyawa village in Kafur local government areas respectively.

According to the separate First Information Reports read to the court, Fojo allegedly collected N229,000 from one Sani Salisu of Unguwar Sodangi in Malumfashi to invest in the scheme.

Garba, on the other hand, collected N200,000 from one Adamu Aliyu of Gangarawa, also in Malumfashi, to invest in MMM.

The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Sani Ahmed, told the courts that the accused deceived the complainants with a promise that the investment would provide 30 percent returns within 30 days.

He said that neither the original money nor the interest were returned to the complainants after the expiration of the agreed period.

He said the accused were charged with criminal breach of trust and cheating, offences that contravene sections 312 and 322 of the penal code.

The two accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Chief Magistrate, Lawal Usman, adjourned Fojo’s case till April 11, while that of Garba was moved to April 18, for mention.

He ordered that the two accused persons be remanded in prison custody.

Conte Provides Update On Fitness Of Super Eagles Star Victor Moses

Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has provided an update on the fitness of Nigeria international Victor Moses ahead of the Premier League tie with Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The winger had to withdraw from the Nigeria squad during the international break because he had not sufficiently recovered from the calf injury he sustained against Manchester United.

Though Conte did not mention names, reporters at Friday’s press conference were specific and asked him about the injury update on Costa, Courtois, Moses and Terry.

Conte replied : “It is important to check two or three situations and then to make the best decisions.

“This week wasn’t easy to work because some have come back with some problems and it is proper now to check and wait and decide tomorrow. “I have two or three situations.”

Moses has started the last 22 games contested by Chelsea in the English top-flight, including the 2-1 win at Stoke City, where he had to play through the painbarrier.

Cameroon Federation Expose Montreal Impact Defender For Lying He Was Abandoned In Brussels

All is not well with the Cameroonian national team ahead of two crucial World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria.

The players almost missed their lunch because their hotel bills were not paid for at the Parker Hotel before the friendly with Guinea, now, Montreal Impact defender Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo claimed he was abandoned in Brussels because his flight was not paid for.

“I’m stuck because I do not have my ticket back. I’m here waiting, no one is giving mean answer,” Bitolo said to camfoot.com.

“You give your heart, your soul, your life for your nation, but others do not recognize your worth.

“But in any case, you will not discourage us. We were born in Cameroon, we grew up in Cameroon. We are not going to abandon our country.”

The Cameroonian National Team Coordinator André Nguidjo has rubbished the claims of Bitolo, stating that the player was sent his round-trip plane ticket in advance, and wondered how he got to Brussels without his traveling document.

A FECAFOOT source added that Bitolo decided to stay back in Brussels for one more day after the training camp, and unfortunately could not get a flight to Montreal on Wednesday evening.

Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo started every single game for the Indomitable Lions at the 2017 African Cup of Nations.

Politics / Re: Ortom/Wike Feud: Rivers PDP Chairman Invites Ortom To Rivers For Project Tour by NLban: 9:58pm On Mar 27, 2017
itsdumebi:
-Urges Him to Emulate Wike On Security, Dev. Models

As Prominent Nigerians from within and outside Rivers State, including Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, continue to visit the State and join Governor Nyesom Wike on projects tour, the Chairman, Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah, has extended an invitation to the Benue State Governor, Mr. Samuel Ortom, for similar undertaking across the State.

The PDP Chairman, while commending the Vice President, Prof. Osinbajo, other Governors, Senior citizens, religious and political leaders, who have made out time in spite of their tight schedules to come and see for themselves the developmental projects in Rivers State, particularly lauded similar visits by some All Progressives Congress, APC, Governors, who have demonstrated high spirit of patriotism and statesmanship during such visits and tours of completed and ongoing projects embarked upon by Gov Wike across the State.

Bro Obuah noted that apart from the landmark peace and security in the State, which is largely a product of the various deliberate and committed efforts and successful amnesty programme of Governor Wike, Port-Harcourt, the State capital, and its environs now wear a new look, following the Operation Keep Rivers State Clean initiative of the current administration through the Rivers State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA.

In addition to this, Obuah maintained, infrastructural, human capacity and institutional development have been top priorities of the Gov Wike administration for which Rivers people, residents and business operators in the State are happy about.

Obuah however expressed grave concern over the insecurity leading to continued loss of lives of innocent citizens in Benue State under the watch of Mr. Ortom, noting that any government worth its salt should be able to provide security for lives and property of its citizens, a great feat that the Wike administration has achieved, even in the face of apparent distractions and politicization of insecurity by the opposition party in the State.

The PDP Chairman believes that visiting Rivers State and embarking on tour of developmental projects will avail Gov Ortom the opportunity to tap from Gov Wike’s wealth of experience and success story. “This is a passionate invitation to Mr. Ortom, which should not be taken for granted”, Obuah insisted.

“No man knows it all. If your style of leadership does not work, learn and adopt Gov Wike’s proactiveness in governance”, Obuah stated.

He listed some completed and ongoing projects across the three senatorial districts of the State to include the Ogoni-Andoni-Opobo Unity Road, Birabi Memorial Grammar School, Bori, Sakpenwa-Bori Road, Ecumenical Centre, Federal High Court, Civic Centre, Dredging and Reclamation work at Ogbunabili/Nkpogu Location, Nkpogu Bridge, Trans-Amadi Road, Woji Akpajo Bridge, Slaughter Road, Port Harcourt Pleasure Park, Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Rumigbo, Igbo-Etche road, Airport-Ipo-Omademe Road, General Hospital, Ahoada, Reconstruction of Edeoha-Ikata-Ochigba road, Ahoada-East LGA, General Hospital, Abua, General Hospital, Abonnema, General Hospital, Buguma, Zonal Hospital, Degema and General Hospital Omoku, Abonnema Link Road, Street and Traffic Lights, construction of New Jetties, amongst several others.

“To end the pains of our brothers, sisters and fellow countrymen in Benue State, we call on Gov Samuel Ortom to visit Rivers State and tap from Governor Wike’s security and developmental projects concept and expertise,” Obuah stressed, appealing to him to stop the media noise and take governance seriously.

Obuah regretted that the Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, was unable to pay monthly salaries of civil servants running into several months, after borrowing over N60 billion in 7 months.

How DSS Boss, Mamman Daura, Kyari PlanTo Get Magu Redeployed To The Police

by Saharare porters, New York.

Lawal Musa Daura, the Director General of the Department of State Security Services.

Mr. Lawal Daura, Director-General of the Directorate of State Security (DSS), Mr. Mamman Daura, the influential nephew of President Muhammadu Buhari, and Mr. Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to President Buhari, SaharaReporters can authoritatively report, have secretly begun working on a plan to have Mr. Ibrahim Magu, acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), redeployed back to the Nigeria Police Force.

The moves being made by the three men, top Presidency sources told SaharaReporters, are independent of President Buhari, who is unwilling to replace Mr. Magu. The President is said to be unconvinced by the negative DSS report on Mr. Magu's integrity. However, the President's nephew the DSS boss and Mr. Kyari are said to be exploiting President Buhari's brittle health to replace Mr. Magu, who has obdurately resisted their attempts to teleguide him. “They are capitalizing on Buhari’s failing health to execute their project of getting Magu out because he has refused to be considering their advisory role in carrying out his job.

“The DSS boss is behind all the reports against Magu. Behind him are Maman Daura and Abba Kyari. They have failed to convince President Buhari that Mr. Magu has integrity issues," said a top Presidency source.

The failure to achieve their aim has made them approach the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Lawal K. Idris to recall Mr. Magu from the EFCC back to the Nigerian police force.

Authoritative sources said the DSS is planning to author more damaging reports on Mr. Magu's reputation with a view to making his continued stay at EFCC untenable. “In the course of the drama, they will have their way because the trio wield a lot of influence,” said a source.

Immediately after this incident Gov Samuel Ortom ordered for the evacuation of all "head's"men out of the affected places, but to the surprise of every law abiding Benue Indigene, the Benue State Commissioner of Police who is also a "Foooolani" granted a press conference and said the Benue State governor does not have the right to order "Fooolani "Headsmen" out of the State.

Do you know get the true picture of what Buhari and his Jihad sympathizers are up to

If you doubt me, just do a survey of those who are CP in States ravaged by the Buhari approved terrorists.

Mr President

Be informed if you were not,

that the Tiv nation gave you and APC 90%of their votes in the last election that brought you into power.

You swore with the Holy Koran to protect the constitution of the Federal republic of Nigeria which means

Protection of life and property.

If you have not been briefed by the security.

Then, we the Tiv sons and Daughters of Benue state are willing to use this medium to convey to you Sir.

Our Families, Children, Villages, and Farm lands have been shattered.

Some group of people called Fulani are killing people in the Tiv land and no security report is transmitted to you.

Mr President

Turn the boko Haram defence and counter terrorism war towards this dangerous group and save the Tiv nation, middle belt and Nigeria.

Share if you are affected in a way.

Share till it gets to Mr. President.

Seun, the media is the only successful medium the people have resorted to, hence the Federal government has refused to come to the aids of the people who are at the mercy of the dreaded Fulani "Heads"Men.

I am sure you have not deliberately ignored this thread. It must have been an oversight.

Thank you.
