This afternoon, 4 robbers came to Oriaku street Aba, Abia state. They came to where some women were plaiting hair and stole their phones and money, shot a guy and ran away. Two were later caught at Umuocham Road and they were brought back to Oriaku street where the stole and shot a man, while the others fled. Everyone in the street came out to see the faces of the robbers. They were severely beaten and striped unclad. The mob was about burning them when police came and whisked them away. Two housewives while fighting over a man have suffered severe burns the two women emptied a kettle of hot water on each other during a fight Punch is reporting. Biliki accused Muyibat of marrying her former boyfriend which led to the fight. According to the report, Muyibat said their problem started after Biliki accused her of marrying her (Biliki’s) boyfriend.


“Biliki told neighbours that she once dated my husband and that she aborted for him during their relationship. She calls me Iyawo Sara (free wife). I have never known peace in that house. She fights me over every minor issue.


“On Saturday, I went to the market with my husband and when we got home, my child started crying. Biliki’s younger brother, Ahmed, came out and shouted at him and I cautioned him.


“His sister then picked up a quarrel with me and started raining curses on me. I did not talk because I was observing a fast. While she was abusing me, I sneezed and said, ‘Ausubillahi minashaitani rojeem’ (God, deliver me from the devil).” “I removed the water I was boiling for my vegetables and put it on the table.


She (Biliki) held my head from behind and poured the hot water on me. “Her younger brother slammed a plastic paint on my head, while she drew my hair. Both of them assaulted me,” Muyibat added.


On her part, Biliki, who suffered burns on her breasts, chest and hand, denied the allegations, said her neighbour was the first to attack her. She denied ever dating Muyibat’s husband.


“I went back to my parents’ house when I had issues with my husband. Because of that, many of the tenants started ridiculing me. “I was ill that Saturday and was sleeping beside my baby. Her child had come to play with my baby when she called him back.


When the child didn’t heed her call, she hit him and the child started crying. “Another child passing through the passageway was also crying that partcular time. My younger brother asked the other boy to stop crying and Muyibat abused my brother.


“My brother reported her to me and I told him not to reply her. She then started insulting me. We fought and our neighbours came to separate us. “I was backing her when somebody suddenly shouted, ‘hot water!’ As I turned back with my hands raised, she emptied a kettle of hot water on me. Because my hand was raised when she attacked me, a little of the water splashed on her.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to help him pacify rampaging militants in the oil-rich Niger Delta.

Lamenting the effect of attacks on oil installations, the president said the country does not need such a distraction at this point in time.

He said the militants were in possession of sophisticated equipment, adding that unlike the Boko Haram sect which has one faction, the militants are in so many groups, suggesting that government has been having challenges relating with them.

Buhari was speaking on Friday, at the breaking of fast dinner with the APC leadership at the presidential villa in Abuja.

“I honestly don’t know how many factions the militants are in the Niger Delta compared to the north-east where you have the Boko Haram,” he said.

“The technology being deployed by the militants to destroy oil installations is high-tech, the way they can go on high sea and international waters and target oil installations is a national problem. It is affecting development.

“No insurance company will want to insure installations that will end up being blown up and no banks will want to finance such installations.

“Those of you who have friends among the leadership or even the militants themselves should plead with them in the name of God ‎Almighty to take it easy.

“We are in a very difficult time, so we have to organise ourselves. Anybody that says he has any other country than Nigeria should go out and see.”

He expressed delight that the primary election in Edo state was successful, and said close attention would be paid to Ondo state, which is next in line.

“The successful conduct of APC primaries in Edo state gave me a new hope,” he said.

“We are going to watch Ondo very closely, we have to ensure that the vote of the people count.”

John Oyegun, national chairman of the party, said the APC was pleased with the achievements of the president so far.

Oyegun, who acknowledged that Nigeria was passing through a difficult time, said “change does not come cheap or easily”.

“Things must change. Those things don’t come easily. Nigeria is clearly a difficult nation to govern,’’ he said.

Those at the event were former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar; Ghali Na’aba, former speaker of the house of representatives; Segun Oni, the party’s deputy national chairman (south), and Timipre Sylva, former Bayelsa state governor.
