All we do is sell the stuff we extract and import the stuff we should be making at home. That stifles industrial growth and jobs.

We also subsidize things like petrol which at the end of the day means that it is not profitable to produce these things in Nigeria, but far more profitable to import it, and smuggle it.

Finally, we laugh at and refuse to support vocational and technical educaiton. Everyone wants to go to university, and get a paper degree and work in the civil service...which can only accumulate so much

And the government is not taking the decisions needed to change the narrative. Every government since independence does the same thing over and over and over again.
