Programming / Re: Is PHP Getting Outdated And Not Relevant Again? by Nmeri17: 12:48am On Jun 14, 2023
peterincredible:
Nope PHP is still very much relevant but gone are those days you write just vanilla PHP code when building a website now you have to use a framework eg(laravel, symfony, you) but laravel is more popular and again if you want to go into freelancing hmmm PHP got u covered

Please add suphle to the list. It's a new php framework whose documentation is at suphle.com.

Op, to answer your question, yes, php is truly withering in popularity. Some of us are resuscitating and reviving with cpr and ice water. Please read the introduction part of this article. There, the author discuses various helpful tools that put php on par with the more trendy languages. It's kind of long but do give it a shot

If you really want to know or you want to have a grasp of what is playing out in the world today, you MUST be a student of the Word of God, the Holy Bible.

Like I have always said here, America aka Nomerica is the "Mystery Babylon" described by John the Beloved in the book of Revelation.
What we seeing now is the physical manifestation of what has happened spiritually.

Nomerica is right now under the judgement of the Most High GOD. A nation that has turned her back on God right from the leadership . It is doom! Doom! Doom!
Whatever is happening now is nothing compared to What is coming. Read Revelation 18 to understand what is coming on her.

For the people of God there and those states that refused to sign those satanic laws of lgbt, abortion, transgender, and confusing little kids on their gender, fear not. God will spare you.

Usually hate seeing your post but I opened the thread expecting to see someone say this. Even as a non religious person, I have to admit you are spot on this time around. It is dreadful news

Education / Re: Are Philip Emeagwali's Claims Fraudulent? by Nmeri17: 3:48pm On Apr 11, 2023
Pain:
@greatgeo,
To say im highly dissappointed is to say the least. Im really dissapointed. I was at one time thrilled by his achievement, but too gulluible to research and substantiate his claims. Ive made several phone calls and been through several sites in the last one week. What I can tell you is that the guy is just an opportunist.

How else would you explain the info on hhis so called website. Its just full of shameful marketing gimmicks. Its stinks of a Poorly Packaged "Motivational Speaker Trying to Sell Himself. I mean how many Nobel Class Scientist would have so much time to waste boasting about Phony Pseudo Achievements let alone try to eke out a living from Motivational Speaking. What Happened to Research et al?

I mean Its goes to show how far some people would go to drag Nigeria's nane in the Mud. Indeed Mr Emegwali has no notable article in any recognised scientific journal. Hes just a man plagued by delusions grandeur. He just overbloated an accidental yes i say accidental award in which he ranked just second. His entry wasnt even under peformance but more of cost.

Im very ashamed and appalled. Please find the following links. They should be helpful in unearthing the truth behind Mr. Nor Dr. Emeagwali.
Indeed every site on him is being sponsored by him. Can U Imagine. What Propangada. It goes to show the Negative side of the Info Superhighway. U can bombard a large audience with Phony Info Warfare. angry

Betrayal from whom and for what? undecided
The reason Biafra came about is because "some illiterate" Igbos felt margnalized by NIGERIA as a whole. That was a PURE fallacy.
Now that fallacy has be debunked. PETER OBI IS IGBO and is accepted ALL OVER NIGERIA including in the North and the West.
Of what use is Biafra, if not for terroistic sentinents. . . .where the Igbo Man in the face of Peter Obi has gained the support of Nigerians all over Nigeria and the WORLD? Even without a STRUCTURE in LP.
Now, the proponents of Biafra should support Peter Obi to ensure his success as the next Nigerian President.
But what are they doing? Terrrorizing the SE with threats to life and property out of ENVY and MEDIOCRITY.
Because the Biafra dogman will die a natural death which will be a wasted effort.
If Biafra was truly a movement. . . it would have succeeded saliently. . . .But we all know the SE cannot remain one under Biafra because of the same lack of clear vision and mission, so they keep fighting amongst themselves. How can some miscreants sit abroad and be controlling the weak minds and souls of people in the SE regions? undecided After you shed blood by foolish fellowship, your messiah will come from Finland and take the glory. cheesy

Madness! Una MUMU don do. Biafra was never accepted by majority of the Igbos, only a few directionless, miserable souls. Even the Igbos will not be safe under Biafra.

Common the EBUBEAGWU security outfit was a FAILURE within the Igbo community. It has been proven time after time that Igbos do best attacking themselves instead of the "invisible common enemy" they will always find time to create in their minds. For that reason alone. . . .BIAFRA CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO EXIST with mad monks like Nnamdi Kanu and Simon Ekpa at the helm of affairs.

Peter Obi and the people who have accepted him are proof that Biafra was a mirage in the minds of a minority that only thrives in chaos and anarchy. . . .NO DIFFERENT FROM BOKO HARAM.

I love you and miss reading you more than you believe

Performance, Spring boot in action is indeed old, been a while I did that

Performance? Oh, bro

1) that's highly subjective (what exactly is being measured? What percentage of applications require that functionality, etc?).
2) have you heard of roadrunner and swoole?

Note: I may come off as defensive but the truth is php gets too much undeserved hate. Think it's only fair for its detractors to indicate what metrics they draw their judgement from.

Kvngfrosh:

https://www .manning.com /books/ spring-in-action-sixth-edition

Fairs. One of the reasons I defend textual content over videos is the longevity of the dynamic ie you can always wake up and update it. But I just realised books discussing subjects under active research and improvement (eg software) fall short of that boon. I sincerely hope not to work with spring again. My experience wasn't palatable cuz I've used simplified, far better documented alternatives. And that company I used it with, took me 100 years into the past with nosql

But, never say never

Exactly Spring boot Auto-scanning and bean configuration, Read this book by Manning OP Spring boot in Action.

Note: I was told Spring boot adopted Servlet API, but I think some aspect where Servlet is exposed, like Filter chain. I used this package Quartz, SimpleJDBC Stored Procedure, Jackson. I really enjoyed Spring so much, It made no sense writing PHP. Interswitch exposed me to alot, with docker, you can fire multiple instances. Follow this man on Twitter Alex Adeyemo, he built an SSO for Interswitch.

That's a terribly outdated book. I enjoyed reading it at the time cuz the writer is entertaining, but the experience in real life work is far different from what is taught there

In what ways is spring better than php?

But wait, doesn't Codementor use funds provided by student to pay the teacher? If that's the case, won't he have been losing money to the platform?

Literature / Re: Nmeri's literary junkyard by Nmeri17: 12:15pm On Dec 30, 2021
Very bad: abuse, in any shape or form. People easier adapt to the verbal variation of it. I find it painstaking to endure even when not directed at me
***
Betrayal. Their tragedy lies in the fact that the passage of time may pardon the offender, but the victim continues to bear the scars of the backstabbing. The wound can be opened unannounced, recalling long forgotten memories that cause the victim to malfunction

Bad: low self esteem, no sense of self – when the internal image of one's identity is a hazy mirage, selfish enrichment can influence an enemy, bully, or bystander to sway the mind of such a person to their whims; like a reprogram. Some wind up as nervous wrecks. Other times, it can manifest as much worse. It can be lethal for overthinkers, or when the emotional lobotomy erodes the mind over time. We haven't really figured how to mend broken minds – not "broken" in the sense of lunacy.

For someone to grow that rigid worth in their mind's eye, one you can't convince them away from. I see it sometimes in those who are grossly inadequate. What they lack in substance, they compensate for in pride, and confidence. It's not necessarily proportional to the individual's worth. It has more to do with faith in one's self, and things can be bad for those with difficulty building it

Another bad one is brain freeze. It's a funny glitch the mind does when its owner suddenly finds themselves in a district not anticipated. It's like rapid drop in blood flow. It drops from the cliff of overconfidence, hubris, unsuspecting naivety. The instant the brain comes to terms with the consequence of its unpreparedness, it feels like the end of the road, so it simply freezes. It can leave the smartest person morose, or yammering incoherently

Generally, you want to fortify yourself from a flight of the mind

There's also ridicule: amusement at the predicament of the unfortunate. We call it "learning to laugh at our flaws". You don't really gain admission to that college until you've walked their path. The examination seeks to determine whether or not hilarity can still be inferred from the scenario. Our excitement should never be accused of insensitivity

***
Good: euphoria, but in moderation. Long lasting happiness is almost impossible to sustain overtime. You either burnout, or wither away. Those checkpoints guide our balance where we can refuel to go again

***
Very good: Curiosity, discipline, empathy, resilience
