The confirmatory test readily available to confirm genotype is *Hemoglobin quantification by HPLC* technique which you can get to do easily at the Sickle cell foundation building opposite LUTH Idi araba.
If both of you are AS from the result ,you will know and then seek expert opinion.
They(SCF) also provide services like In utero diagnosis of SCD which is the feared complication for your unborn child...The option however will be to do a TOP for a SCD fetus.

Sorry if you feel attacked, but the essence of my comment is not hinged on Catholicism but on scriptural authority that Christians should have for every practice. I am not a saint but I believe Christians should have strong-rooted scriptural admonition that should warrant our actions or in-actions.

In view of the above, I also agree with you that the above highlighted should not find its way in the Christian fold as part of worship. But practices like anniversaries and fund raising should be a private affair which should not have any worshipful undertone. We never heard nor read of the early church practicing all these yet their worship was well received by God. So why the icing on the cake today in worship?

Sir read me well before attacking. I said there's "no direct traceable scripture that linked the practice". Those bible verses stated in the original write up are just conjectures. For the starters, there was no practice called LENT in the Bible in which the so-called ash is being administered. Just like the above highlighted, it a symbolic practice that should carry no weight in christian leaving. That people repent in dust and ashes in the ancient times signifies true act of genuine repentance is not in question or in doubt. What I tend to question though is do they choose a particularly selected season of the year called LENT or any other name for that matter to genuinely repent of their sins or does this practice happen at any time and as spontaneous as can be?

You see what this is advocating for is Just lead your life however you like every other time of the year, but be sure to remain clean during the Lent season. It doesn't seem like a genuine repentance to me. Note however that I'm not judging neither an I claiming holiness. Just being logical.
