PoliticsRe: Gunmen Attack Emir Of Kano's Convoy? by nokia3310: 10:36pm On Jan 19, 2013
Some Christians are indeed Hippocrates, so just because the Emir survived the attack, you are now saying it was staged. What about the other ten people that died in the attack (majority of whom might likely be Muslims) are they less human than the christain worshipers of say Madala bomb blast. Why do some of you guys want the emir dead when we were all here last month condemning those celebrating Yakowa's death. Religion is a madness indeed, and you Christians are not very different from your Muslim Cousins for you're all birds of a feather. When something like this happen i expected people to remove sentiments from their minds for we are humans before being religious.

Love isn't legally recognized as the foundation of a marriage, rather its the agreement between the couple. The constitution doesn't touch on marriages.

Yes, presently i'm neutral, because i don't go to mosque, church or any shrine for that matter, but i also did not deny the existence of God completely, but one thing i'm very sure of is that if God really exists, he is certainly not the character all the Abrahamic religion depicted in their books. So dear God, if you are out there, i'm in dear need to see your face, before i'd deny you completely. Because i'm fast becoming an atheist.

Kay 17: Easy!

Just lie! Many atheists are pastors and sunday school teachers. I'm not married, but living as a cultural christian wouldn't be so hard
That's why i said that you guys are too brainwashed to reason like a normal human being, if you believe most of the Pastors and Sunday school teachers are atheist, then what are you waiting for to declare your independence.

Dating girls shouldn't be difficult for an atheist, but it becomes an issue as soon as her family is involved. They begin to ask questions like where do you worship. These days its not only Islam that surfers from extremism, even Christianity have extremists. Can't remember how many times people have ask me questions like are you a christian? I always pick offence, because what's your biz with my faith...

plaetton: Here is my advice.

My wife is born again christian(yeah, what else is new in Nigeria?) and we have known each for more than 15yrs.

Though I was an agnostic at the time,I did go to her church to woo her, then afterwards, I did make very plain to her of my aversion for religion. Funny enough, she found it very ingriguing and saw me as just a rebel.

Everyone knows me as an agnostic. I keep my atheism just within my immediate family circle and few enlightened friends. You cannot live a comfortable life as an open atheist is Nigeria.

Believe it or not, my inlaws still think I am good christian. I keep it that way just to maintain my close relationship with them. My most awkward moment occurred when my father inlaw once asked me to lead in prayers during a family gathering . lol

Now, if you both love each other, you must convince her that you can never betray the the sovereignty of your mind by becoming religious, that religion is very divisive and would destroy your relationship only if she lets it.

As for her parents, I dont know what you or she has already told them, but you can make amends by letting them know that you believe in god, but have lost interest in religion because of the frauds perpetuated by these Nigerian men of fraud(MOF).

That should buy you some respite until you get married and take their daughter away to make your own home. After that, it would no longer be their business.
Thanks for your response. But this religious people are too brainwash to reason like normal human being, even their pastor knew about me, and he had summoned me in the past but i refused to turn up, because i said he had no such right, i told the girl to tell him that if he really wants to see me, he should come to my house but he refused to show up as well. But since then, the parent of the girl became very hostile towards me because i refused to answer the call of a respected MOG. I could've pretend to be a christian and play along, but its very difficult because i'm not good at acting...

Doubt it if u can find an atheist woman in Naija, because Nigerians like to believe in something, at least believing in anything will please them.
My dad once told me that "Why can't you believe in God, so that on the last day, if the whole story about God turn out to be true, you'll be safe, and if it turnout to be false you've nothing to loose as well"
That's their mentality. But personally, i cannot tolerated all the lies religious people will filled me up with, and they expected me not to object.

Logicboy03: Trust me, I acted like a muslim once to avoid problems, it makes you sick because you arent yourself and also disgusted because you are doing something that is ridiculous rituals that you dont believe in.

Better be yourself but be careful and be friendly with the church members.

You three options;

a) Giving her good reasons not to believe and hope that she would become less pushy on you about religion
b) Telling her to separate her relationship with you from the church
c) Trying to go to church to appease her.
I'm sure you will also face this problem as soon as you come back to Naija, the problem is not really the girl, the problem is her family.
I was able to convince her that religion is just fairy tales, in fact i even know the bible better than her, but she can't confront her people.
More than 75% of the religious people either don't know anything about their religion or they are scared to declared their independence.

@Logicboy, i really appreciated your response, I initially thought i could pretend to be a christian so that after the wedding, and as soon as i'm guaranteed that the girl is mine, then i will gradually stop attending church services...but it was very difficult, on my first attempt, may be because i'm not good at acting, i was just seating at the back watching them as they tried to communicate with God but deep in my mind, i know they all just wasting their time, i don't want to fool myself i just went out, and she eventually catch up with me after the service.
Christianity EtcQuestions For Mazaje, Logicboy, Muskeeto And Other Atheist In The House by nokia3310(op): 11:47am On Oct 15, 2012
Firstly, i'd like to make it very clear that i'm neither a Theist nor an Atheist, but the truth is that, the little i've read from the apologists of both Christianity and Islam is not convincing enough.
Though my problem today has nothing to do with whether God exists or not. The story below summarise my problems:

My girlfriend and I have been dating for more than a year now, she initially thought I’m a Christian, so she was very excited about the r/ships and she happily introduces me to all her family members, they also like and accepted me, not until the day she asked me “Baby, where do you worship?” I replied “worship? I don’t worship anyone O”, she was very disappointed, but she resolved to hang around me until she can convince me to give my life to Christ, She invited me to church several times but I wasn’t interested. We both love each other and planned to get married someday, but her people got to know that I’m not a Christian, and now they are threatening to disown her if she doesn’t quit her r/ship with me.
My Questions now are

1. How did you guys get married? I mean, did your bride’s family know that you guys are Atheist before the wedding?
2. If you are not married, how are you coping with your fiancée
3. Do people around you know that you guys are atheist, and do they respected your decision, just as you respected theirs?

Please share your experience, i will be happy to learn....
PoliticsBomb Blast In Kaduna Kills 4 by nokia3310(op): 3:51pm On Aug 14, 2012
A friend that's suppose to catch up with me at work, just called me that he is presently standing at a scene of a bomb blast some where around Luggard Hall Roundabout. According to the guy, it happened about 20mins ago. Details shortly...

A bomb explosion has occurred in Kaduna metropolis, killing four people, in what suggests a fresh wave of attacks on the north’s political capital.

A witness told PREMIUM TIMES that the explosion occurred along the busy Ali Akilu road in the city centre.

The explosive device, a security source said, exploded accidentally in the hands of two men, who were travelling with it on two motorcycles.

The men are believed to be members of the extremist Boko Haram sect.

A loud bang rang out after the explosive went off, shaking buildings around the area.

Several people around the explosion were also affected by the blast, and the casualty figure from the incident may rise, our sources say.

Men of the Joint Task Force, JTF, have arrived the area and have cordoned off the scene.

Spokespersons of the police and the JTF could not be reached yet for comments.

When is the right hour? I strongly believe that the right hour is long over due but the problem is that GEJ is not just clueless,
but also liver-less and therefore can only arrest BH Sponsors in your dream but never in reality. BH had massacred hundreds of Nigerian
citizens, what began like a child's play in far away Borno state is rapidly spreading across the whole of the North and you're here
saying IBB will be arrested at the right hour.
In as much as i don't believe IBB knows anything about BH, but i will wholeheartedly support his arrest if any of you calling for his arrest
can prove his involvement.

EyesWideOpen: Kai! The comments I've read so far are nothing short of baffling. What is wrong with some people?
I don't see the benefit of IBB's coming out and condemning BH. And I blv anyone wit a healthy brain can see that there's no benefit whatsoever to that.
If he (IBB) sponsors BH, can't he publically condemn them, and go on sponsoring them behind closed doors, just as a setup so the mouths of Clark and co. will be shut up for good?
But I blv Edwin Clark's palm wine soaked brain cannot see this. Mtschewww!!!
You are the only one making sense here my brother. So Edwin Clark wanted IBB to endanger his life by publicly condemning Bokoharam, when the federal gov't couldn't
protect the home of the sitting vice president from BH Attack! Condemning BH publicly by anyone in the north is suicidal and that's like asking IBB to commit suicide.
This thing is simple. Pa Edwin Clark, if you believe IBB is sponsoring BH simply advice your clueless brother to arrest him. Nonsense

Prostitution in Dubai

by Drima on September 15, 2007

PBS has an excellent report about prostitution in Dubai. It comes together with a 12 minute video clip which is very revealing and unique. It’s worth your time.

What caught my attention in this short documentary is that some women in Dubai aren’t forced into prostitution but that they actually voluntarily get involved in it. Apparently the money is too good to resist. Some of them make as much as 7,000 American dollars a month. It was a little shocking to me.

A Moroccan LovePeddler displays the henna patterns on her arms. Muslim LovePeddlers are paid the highest in Dubai. [Drima: Actually, according to some naughty guys I know who live in Dubai, Arab LovePeddlers are the most expensive.

http://www.sudanesethinker.com/2007/09/15/prostitution-in-dubai/
This is a news now because prostitution is not synonymous with Islam, from your quote above you mentioned "Arab LovePeddlers are the  most expensive" that is to prove to you that it is uncommon. Do you think if i should start a thread on Nairaland displaying images of prostitutes in the UK or the US it will catch any bodies attention? The answer is definitely NO, because we are all aware that the girls in Christians dominated states are mostly prostitutes.

and they r hardly found out cos they r disguisd.

in the north it is even advancd; with high cases of homosexuality and prostitution.

I'm not in anyway saying that girls that cover in Hijab don't commit immoral act, what i'm saying is that the immorality rate is higher in Christians dominated areas. I've traveled the length and breadth of this country, and base on my observations, i will confidently tell you that the immoral acts i saw on the streets of places like Porthacourt, is 100 times more than what we have in  the north even in our campuses.

It is a pure lie from the pit of hell sold by the devil. Once you tell God to help you with discipline you will find it easy and nice as a man. A man of will and discipline is strong and will withstand any act of adulterous life.
Talking about discipline now, Muslims have the highest order of morality on earth, even in Nigeria here the rate of immoral acts such as: fornication, adultery, abortion etc is higher in Christian dominated states than in Muslim dominated states

@ aloy/emeka i don't seems to understand why you are obsessed with Islam, there are so many issues regarding Christianity that you should have channel your energy to resolve, even as you are here criticizing Islam's Support of polygamy, the Pope and other Rev. Fathers all over world, are violating little girls in the name of your religion (Christianity)! A religion that is so short sighted to have recognized the fact that men are created weak and therefore its practically impossible for an able bodied man/woman to have spend a lifetime without having a sexual relation with the opposite sex.
For e.g. How do you convinced a sane person that Pope John Paul Died a virgin or that Benedict has never sleep with a woman over these years. So i don't think its a matter of Islam laying so much emphasis on sex rather its a matter of facing the reality.

That's what I don't understand. Their obsession with the bible is second to none but Christians could care less whether the quran is blue, black, gold or whatever. I think it's because many muslims are not fulfilled by their faith. They didn't get what they bargained for and are still seriously searching for the truth and genuine happiness.
I think you should have been asking yourself: Why is that Christians are not comfortable with Muslims reading the Bible.

Moreso, I have sympathy for CIV NT, they are very committed to their country despite being stars. Drogba and co are always taking in peace initiatives for the war-torn nation. Winning ANC will be a good way to cap their efforts.
I don't think Ghanians are Anti-Nigeria, rather football rivalries have been existing between the Eagles and the Black stars. At some point during the 2010 edition of those Nations cup, i was in Accra, Kumasi and even Navrongo; though we didn't discuss football much with the people around me, but they showed me so much love. So as far as i'm concerned, when i look at a Ghanian i see a cousin. So the Black stars have my full support undecided
