No doubt, the amnesty programme needs reviewing. I believe the money paid to this ex militants should be channeled towards developing the localities through the provision of basic infrastructure that impacts on the lives of the majority instead of a few greedy lot. These guys pocket the money, and then create an empire for themselves in the midst of the poor majority. |

eaglechild: Why segregate?
If you use the standard of living in the Northwest then Nigeria will be worse than North Sudan.
Besides those groups you mentioned still have their average members with a better standard of living than most Nigerian ethnic groups. My friend you are hardly making sense. The bottom line remains that we work our hands out making decent living, and still have the decency of not attacking foreigners |

eaglechild: Do not be deceived.
The average black South African at the same social status still has a better standard of living.
I agree they may not be as ambitious as Nigerians but even Nigeria is diverse and not all regions are touted as hard working. The poor South African is better than the poor Nigerian.
Besides why throw away the whites are they not South Africans? Provide proof for your statement, or stop parroting what they told you |

safarigirl: oh....now you'll tell me all the Warri people were happy with Okowa's emergence as Governor.
I'm not saying what I don't know. Delta state is not united abeg. Aniomas still want their own state and just yesterday, the Urhobos and Itsekiris were here telling everyone that Warri is the real capital of Delta and Asaba is the 'capital of Anioma'
United indeed, bros I'm Deltan, I know wetin dey sup for there. You can tell me Cross River and Rivers have united people, but unity in Delta state? Save that story for babies abeg Well, you are free to think that the overwhelming result he got from 18 LGAs is a mean feat. Unity in diversity |

safarigirl: I know where Delta stands with Biafra. Itsekiri is a minority in Delta state compared to those Igbos, na lie?
Delta is not certain what it wants that's why I left them out to begin with....they're a confused bunch with internal issues anyway. Too busy quarreling about who's a minority and who isn't to bother about where they stand in the Nigeria/Biafra brouhaha Why do you keep saying what you don't know. Delta state is more united than you can ever imagine. The political arrangement that was successfully midwifed is a case study. While many SE states are having problems with power sharing among the diff grps,Delta has largely succeeded |

bigfrancis21: Well, Delta Igbo or Anioma is coming along this time around, alongside the Ijaw-speaking part of Delta. Our brothers shall not be left behind. Isokos, Urhobos can continue to remain irrelevant minorities in your Nigeria, with little or no control over your own natural resources. And who made an authority on this. Even Rtd Col Achuzia cannot make such a statement for Delta ibos . |

Daykoozy: The real question is where were all these folks the last 5 years. I hate to invoke tribes into my comments, but it seems Yorubas are the only tribe that votes based on merits and promise rather than the 'our son' mentality. It is a fact that Yorubas were Obasanjos' biggest critics and we were the one to call for Jonathan when Yaardua was I'll. Stop crying and for once let facts and prudence dictate our thoughts and action. The A PC alliance is not a tribal alliance. And I already forsee a igbo president as the next president after Buhari. So calm down my ppl it's okay.I f you want to know the next president just holler at me. Most sensible post |

safarigirl: the actual Biafra hhas just 3 SS states...and yeah, Bayelsa isn't one of them. I was thinking of GEJ based on ethnicity and not region.
Even then, Ijaw isn't part of Biafra....another confused lot. Any SS State that isn't joining Biafra doesn't want to be under Nigeria...they want their own country....but there will sooner be a Biafra than a Niger Delta nation and failure to form a coalition with a stronger backing will lead to what occurred when APC and CPC merged and APGA was busy forming bad guys Get the point. It is such statement as this that will make more SS states to back out of any arrangement that is based on falsehood |

safarigirl: according to the map of Biafra, the shoeless one actually IS a Biafran.....he's just a clueless, foolish one that should totally be denied citizenship. I have read thru several comments, but this one is totally off mark. That old map of biafra is no longer feasible. I am from SS and reside there. A plebiscite would reveal the true state of things to you. If there is anything like Lower Niger, that can be imagined, but stop using biafra for all ethnic groups in SS |

millionaireman: So wealth found in or near the southsouth area belongs to you to make alliances to exploit whenever you want. And as you do that, people in the southsouth shall have little or no say? Note: You further insult the sensibilities of people in the soyuthsouth.
Have you not heard that any new country of the Igbo and rest of southsouth shall be ruled by fiscal federalism in regional government system? And that any group has the right to secede anytime?
What the Igbo needs the southsouth now for is to exit the fraud in Nigeria. No. They can secede as it is now. Mind you, there several ethnic groups in SS,some of which are not ready to join biafra. Forget that PDP got majority vote in the presidential election there. When it comes to forming a nation, other factors come to play |

A sad case of ''afowo fa''

ibnjarir93: Women can be so vindictive. A dissimilar but related scenario happened to me about 2 months ago. My neighbour, a widow, after giving me all the signals of which I refused to take, reported me to my bossom friend, who lived in a different neighbourhood, that I've started smoking & stealing, and that he should warn me to steer clear of her belongings(note that: I've never been caught stealing or smoking by anyone). So just take it in good faith, and understand how women can be when they are desperate. So you believe this story! |

We dont give out degrees in the North through prostitution and cultism. Ask Jega. The house leaders simply asked for transparency in the schorlarship scheme and you are tailking of federal character. Why are you people so boastfull of wrong doing? Your point was valid until you unwittingly made that unfortunate statement about cultism and prostitution. |
