Politics / Re: Jonathan Congratulates Obama On Election Victory by Nonnyz: 4:22pm On Nov 07, 2012
Elueme: Nice and prompt from the president , fed republic of nigeria. I Smh for those rediculing and seizing this gesture to talk down on the president. He has done what is necessary and his congratulatory message is no less valuable than that of any other world leader.. your ultitude is tide to your altitude. You may think you are a less superior being, that is explainable but don't rub it on other Nigerians. The president has our mandate.
Please tell all those Criitics and Shenanigans, who have closed both their eyes to see Change and ears to hear Change.
Knowing well that the ability to congratulate an emerged president, is indeed discretional.
GEJ, did the right thing and he has continue to thread the part of Change.. wink wink wink
Politics / Re: Jonathan Congratulates Obama On Election Victory by Nonnyz: 4:16pm On Nov 07, 2012
On our part, I believe we need to learn from the US to finding a way to curb the irregularities and anomalies inherent in our electioneering system, knowing well that, the US may not be close to perfection neither.
Politics / Re: Good Governance Tour Town Hall Meeting Live In Benue(Pictures & Report) by Nonnyz: 1:30pm On Oct 31, 2012
Maduale: Maku is on fire. I just like the way the man talks. He is making real sense. He is saying that without this tour many people will be ignorant of the ongoing programmes of govt.
He says democracy is all about participation and govts at all levels must be accountable to the people at each point in time. # making sense.
In as much as I agree with the showmanship of this GGT, and also agree that without this tour some pp may be ignorant of what the govt have in stock; I believe also, that the pp need not follow up with any tour of whatever kind to be able to identify changes in their various society. An instance is, if the kwashiorkor road leading to my school is tarred by the govt, then, I believe the govt is doing something and with such, there is the presence of Good Governance..
Politics / Re: Good Governance Tour Town Hall Meeting Live In Benue(Pictures & Report) by Nonnyz: 1:18pm On Oct 31, 2012
This tour have been accorded much relevance, the propaganda it offers haven toured Five States of the Federation, are indeed commendable.
Politics / Re: National Good Governance Tour Kicks Off In Benue State by Nonnyz: 9:59pm On Oct 30, 2012
ANALIST: The tour is real and had not only come to stay but has revealed( and will continue to reveal more), more ground breaking projects of governments- both state and federal in all the states. Though many may not be happy about this tour but we know that as it is with other ventures, there must be critics.
But as a TRUE NIGERIAN I am not only in support of the tour but will suggest we make it an annual policy of government so we can evaluate physically and tangibly of all the projects that we are told that are under construction or completion. In this sense my dearest reader, we can condemn or appreciate the effort or otherwise of any government in power and have the audacity of clarity to do justice on them by our public opinion and judgement.

The question we must ask is what will the people, government and institutions benefit from this tour? Is it part of government duty to showcase its projects or not? What is the significance of this tour?etc.
To analyse, we must understand government and why we are governed in the first place( may be greed and desperation have denied us the first study of live-politics, for every man " is a political animal"wink before expecting dividend of any type of government which democracy is the best so far practised.
Government has the sole duty to organise, manage and distribute the human and natural resource of the polity for te overall utilisation and benefit of all, otherwise known in political science as allocation of scarce resources.
This is why and where the interest of every Nigeria comes in, in the activities, policies and agenda of every leader in government. The projects shown so far in Plateau, Niger and Benue state have not only economic and human capital development bearing on Nigeria but stimulates and motivates every right thinking Nigerian that it takes only POLITICAL WILL(which we've practically seen) and the decision on the part of Nigerians to work hard for us to get to the promised land; where citizens of other nations will seek Nigerian citizenship because of the benefits and security of their posterity like other developed countries of the world
. We must use now than ever the 100,000 cubic metric tones of water in Benue state, 350 bed capacity of 500 staffs with 10 professors and 50 Doctors of Benue state university teaching hospital, the new port construction in Niger state, the renewed international aiports etc as Nigerians for our Agricultural, health and business activities to mention but a few-thereby increasing our development and longevity.

The government in touring these site should not be seen as self-praising, but should be seen as the most practical way and means of matching action with words. For insatance dear friends, at one of the sites of a school block yesterday the Infomation minister Maku, made an instant inquiry why a cracked project should continue when it is obvious that the quality of work done is below standard. For the stuttering principal she could not help but give her own side of the story. Such is the transparency we need. In a polity where citizens will understand from every location we might be what the government is doing in other parts of te country.

It is no hidden knowledge that private sectors moves in line with government agenda and policies which is why investors study countries' and states budgets in order to know where to plunge in their money for fast return on investment(ROI).This can be seen in Akwa Ibom states, Bayelsa and indeed the ubiquitous projects of the Federal Government.

Therefore it should be foreseen that the exposition of the strategic projects for economic development of the Federal and state governments will in addition induce local and foreign investors in many state and diverse area of our economic and plitical development thereby making Nigeria a fast growing economy like other Asian countries.
Government through oversight by the Legislature and verification tour otherwise termed "Good Governance Tour" is not only needed but desired for all to know what the facts on governance and developmental projects stands at.

The significance therefore, is that Nigerians must stand tall and look at the derivable benefits of these projects which are enormous and take advantage of ten all.
It is a welcome development for all.

Beautifully articulated and an educating piece to those who still see the GGT as a government scam...
Politics / Re: Commissioning Of The Remodelled GAT, MMA, Lagos by Nonnyz: 6:07pm On Oct 29, 2012
Bukkyade: Haters will avoid this thread like a plague. They will rather prefer to go to other threads and lambast the govt for not doing anything at all.
Witches and wizards
I agree with you Bukky... What bothers me most is the people's dumb reaction towards positive changes in the Nation's polity while they bite and lambast at any slight error...
Politics / Re: Commissioning Of The Remodelled GAT, MMA, Lagos by Nonnyz: 5:50pm On Oct 29, 2012
Wonderful! When the matter on remodeling of our Airports GAT first came up, frankly, I criticised same, fuming and lambasting of the much waste thereon which will go into the pocket of a few... Now, my assertions and believe indeed have been flawed as GEJ 's government again, have wrestled me to the ground on this. A very commendable work.

Politics / Re: Nigeria: Ribadu Report Uncovers Billion Dollars Oil Theft by Nonnyz: 2:26pm On Oct 25, 2012
With such level of exposure on the decay practices inherent in the Oil Industry, one can only appreciate the work of the Jonathan's Administration on cleansing the sector; and hope that these "gang-up conspiracy" among major players will be squashed and the players made to pay for their indecent act.
Kudos indeed must be accorded the Nuhu Ribadu's lead Commttee, who through pains and sleepless nights have unravelled these anomaly, all for the betterment of the Nation.

The above projects were executed by president Goodluck Jonathan. Let's not confuse them with that of Jang.
...which goes to portray more on the Jonathan's achievements towards the Nation's development.
Politics / Re: Ondo Elections Not Free And Fair- Akeredolu by Nonnyz: 11:31am On Oct 24, 2012
Demdem: No problem. If Akeredolu feels he has a good case, he should be encouraged to go to court. Its not out of place. I wish him luck.
Good talk! After all, the beauty of an election is the ability of a defeated party to challenge the outcome of a "free, fair and credible election" as in the case of Ondo State.
Akeredolu, SAN is most welcome to file a suit as an aggrieved third place party, haha. But to have in mind too, that a credible and free election, irrespective of his party's trickery to lure the electorates in voting for ACN via the "dashing" of various customized call cards to the people and other means clothe with hocus-pocus, will hold ground still; and the winner like an Iroko, whose pure Labour is unquestionable, will again overcome.

Politics / Re: ACN Vows To Challenge Mimiko's Election Victory by Nonnyz: 12:52pm On Oct 22, 2012
Well, it's permitted for Loosers (ACN) to challenge an obvious loss... One will think PDP should be the ones challenging the outcome of the election result, haven emerge the second. obviously, they ve have shown to the world, how matured and passionate they are to the progress of democracy in Nigeria.

]Looser still fighting a lost battle... How on earth did ACN think it was going to emerge winner. They should ve concentrated on emerging second before dreaming of ruling a State; mtcheww! The people of Ondo will rather die than watch their State governed by a group of Ganster headed by the Godfather of Touts. I wonder what is there to be challenged, an election void of irregularities and mal-practice, a much free and fair election... A Place to place the ACN.

Politics / Re: Police Dismiss Sergeant Who Ordered Students Lynched by Nonnyz: 1:58pm On Oct 19, 2012
I applaud the decision but what dissuasion does it seem to hinge on, that Police officers should not commit or be an accomplice to a crime else, their dismissal...?
This will only be justice to the present anomaly but will not cure any effect as to police involvement in crime.
The police in it entirety need to be re-organized and cultured. The recruitment of illiterates and ill minded people should be checked; a proper and adequate education and training be provided not withstanding the grade of entry... Until these and many more are put in place, sorry, the plague shall remain.

The situation is indeed pitiable and calls for an argument intervention...
To investigate the Institution and check on the validity of their qualification as well as others, is a welcome one; this gesture should be extended to other Institutions, to curb his menace.

Do we need a soothsayer or a magician to ve told us that the Fuel Subsidy Protest, particularly the one held in Lagos, was a Carnival in disguise... Why then do we attack the statement of our President who obviously is in a better position to know the true reason or stake behind such "Carnival"... Even at that, the cause for which such 'Carnival' was stage is now been treated as we all are a witness to, unless again, you are a 'die hard Critic'...

What do you mean by come clean? Why are you guys poke nosing on the health status of a president's spouse? How is it your business. Isn't it sufficient information that she is sick and resting? What more details do you want to hear? Was patience elected? Or is she a public servant at the national level ? Why this hairsplitting about the health status of someone who is a nonentity according to Nigerian Constitution. How has Madam Patience absence affected governance in any department in Nigeria? Which file is awaiting Patience Jonathan's consideration? What business of governance does Saharareporters want Madam patience Jonathan to come and handle?

I have seen people make all kind of useless comments. Some people even claimed they deserve to know because it is their money. Who told you? Did you see any voucher being raised for her medical trip? Or you saw an allocation in the 2012 budget for her medical bills? So beyond presidency, patience Jonathan does not have money to undergo a medical trip abroad? Does the president no longer earn salaries and allowances? How is it your business to query how the president decides to spend his allowance? How is it your business if the president decides to spend his allowance on his family's medical trip abroad?
Jobless people.
OOOOSHEYYYYY! Pls try educate them, even the likes of DemDem who I thought is youthful enough to understand; I guess Sahara Reporters have injected it venom of dumbness and lack of comprehension into his blood stream and brain... grin grin grin
