HealthRe: Two Cases Of Ebola Confirmed In Port Harcourt by nora544:
Reference: Are doctors on the same page with us on halting this onslaught or what. What is all this nonsense. Why couldn't they call the attention of the authorities immediately the symptoms showed. I think it is time to consider stripping any doctor of his or her practicing license for concealing and attempting to treat what should be termed an 'official matter'. Why is the Federal Government/Ministry of Health so slow at rolling out the 'rules of engagement'. The other patients in these clinics have a right to life and not a further threat to their well being. Any doctor who knowingly admits an ebola patient should simply do time if they survive. All ebola patients should be handed over to the Feds sharp, sharp. I'm livid. angry angry angry
This comes when Pastors tell their followers all who have make the 100 fasting this year cannot have Ebola, this man just celebrate his 2Million followers on facebook and he was before a Professor at an University, and he also told his followers that Ebola is only a demon so why should doctors be different when they get brainwashed since they where kids from this fake new church pastors!

No hiding of an Ebola carrier
No secret treatment of an Ebola carrier
No secret burial of Ebola victim
Report suspected Ebola patient to the appropriate Authority
Wash your hands regularly with soap under a running water

If we be vigilant and do the needful, we'll win this war.

A learned diplomat that should know better decided to infilterate his wickedness on an innocent doctor just like his counterpart Patrick. if these learned people can behave like this am afraid what the repercussion will be if the disease find its way to the rural populace. God save us all.
this diplomat is not the only one, I hear from a pastors who told his pastors all of his followers who make the 100 days fasting this year will not get Ebola, and that was before a professor at an University in Nigeria.

The other one told his followers there was a man in south africa who could heal Ebola but this man died 1935 in America and was only for 5 years in south africa and Ebola was first known 1976 he is also a educated man!

Sorrry that is not right. This drug was tested in Germany on mouse and not on human. The test on mouse show that it could work. let us see what germany is doing because they just take one doctor from siera leone for treatment. He is in hamburg and there is one of the best institutes, and they search for Ebola.

This drug is a drug for flu in Japan and the people in japan can take it for flu.

What is with Bertha von Suttner the first woman who got the nobel prize for peace in 1907.

She was for two weeks the personal assistant of Alfred Nobel and she was it that he make also a prive for peace.

Bertha Felicitas Sophie Freifrau von Suttner (Baroness Bertha von Suttner, Gräfin (Countess) Kinsky von Wchinitz und Tettau; 9 June 1843 – 21 June 1914) was an Austrian novelist, pacifist, and the first woman to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and the second person to be awarded the Nobel Prize in any category

Suttner became a leading figure in the peace movement with the publication of her novel, Die Waffen nieder! ("Lay Down Your Arms!"wink in 1889 and founded an Austrian pacifist organization in 1891. She gained international repute as editor of the international pacifist journal Die Waffen nieder!, named after her book, from 1892 to 1899. In 1911 she became a member of the advisory council of the Carnegie Peace Foundation.[4]

Her pacifism was influenced by the writings of Immanuel Kant, Henry Thomas Buckle, Herbert Spencer, Charles Darwin and Leo Tolstoy (Tolstoy praised Die Waffen nieder!). [5] Suttner was also a journalist, with one historian stating her work revealed her as "a most perceptive and adept political commentator, for a woman".[5]
Influence on Alfred Nobel

Though her personal contact with Alfred Nobel had been brief, she corresponded with him until his death in 1896, and it is believed that she was a major influence in his decision to include a peace prize among those prizes provided in his will, which she won in 1905.

Christianity EtcNSS Raise Concerns Over New Faith School Linked To ‘witch-hunting’ Bishop by nora544(op): 8:51pm On Aug 23, 2014
The National Secular Society has expressed concern that a school linked to a controversial Pentecostal Nigerian 'witch hunter' pastor is set to open in England.

The Kingdom Heritage Model School in Dartford is set to open as an independent fee-paying school to children from the age of four this September. The school, which will teach "biblical truths" in each subject, has been established by Living Faith Church Worldwide (LFCWW), also known as Winners Chapel International (WCI). The Department for Education has confirmed that it is currently considering the school's application.

In a letter to the Department for Education, the NSS has questioned the suitability of the organisation to run educational establishments in the UK, raising concerns over both educational standards and child welfare.

In 2011, WCI leader David Oyedepo was captured on video assaulting a young girl at one of his ministration events in Nigeria. After accusing the girl of being a witch, she can be heard saying she is a "witch for Jesus". Mr Oyedepo then slaps her around the face and denounces her as evil.

Last week it emerged that David Oyedepo appeared to be the subject of an airline alert issued by the Home Office which bars any carrier from bringing him into the UK. The move follows concerns raised with the Home Office by the National Secular Society (NSS) and humanist groups about the potential risk of abuse to children accused of being witches.

Winners Chapel is also the subject of an ongoing investigation by the Charity Commission concerning the methods used to obtain money from its followers and other alleged financial irregularities.

The school acknowledges "God as the sovereign and only wise God in all affairs of life and learning", and believes the Bible to be "the ultimate source of wisdom".

It says it will approach discipline "very firmly" and expects the head teacher to "ensure there is an atmosphere that encourages respect for authority, strong character, obedience and a Christ-like spirit."

A statement on the David Oyedepo Ministries International website links "disobedience" with "witchcraft", stating:

"As far as God is concerned, disobedience is as terrible as witchcraft. 1 Samuel 15:23a says: For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. May God not catch you as a witch. His Word also says, "Do not suffer a witch to live" (Exodus 22:18). If you are not bringing up your children in the way they should go, you are cutting short the number of your days. Receive grace from God now, to be obedient to this commandment on child training in Jesus' name. …"

In 2012 the Metropolitan Police warned that children believed to be possessed by evil spirits or believed to be witches are at "clear and immediate risk of significant harm".

In considering this school's registration, the NSS has also asked the DfE to look into the details surrounding the death of a three-year-old child who drowned in the toilets of a Kingdom Heritage Model School operated by Winners Chapel in Nigeria in 2012.

Stephen Evans, National Secular Society campaigns manager, said: "Given this Church's association with belief in witchcraft and the actions of its leader, we hope the Department will give serious consideration to the reliability of the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children."

Elijah78: Thank you Nora544 for clarifying. I forgot that here in Naija when people hear the word "'fast'', they misconceive it to mean the kind of fasting going on in churches today!(i will not advice people to undergo that kind). Even me i did the intermittent fasting also and the results were amazing on my overall health including my weight loss goals.
I have every week one day when I still make it, I didnot lose weight again but I keep it and that is okay and it is good for the body.
I have girlfriend she lose more than 90 pounds with this, in two years.

The fasting what is preached in Nigeria is not good for the body because it will slow down the metabolism and after the 100 days people will get more weight faster.

I know a woman she wrote on a wedding homepage our praying and fasting give us a good daughter in law but when I see her she looks like the first lady in nigeria and I was asking me what fasting did she make until I found it out.

A study in the British Medical Journal investigated spiritual healing, therapeutic touch and faith healing. In a hundred cases that were investigated, no single case revealed that the healer's intervention alone resulted in any improvement or cure of a measurable organic disability.[55]

A Cochrane review of intercessory prayer found "although some of the results of individual studies suggest a positive effect of intercessory prayer, the majority do not" the authors concluded, "We are not convinced that further trials of this intervention should be undertaken and would prefer to see any resources available for such a trial used to investigate other questions in health care."[56] A 2006 study found that intercessory prayer had no effect on complication-free recovery from heart surgery, but curiously the group certain of receiving intercessory prayer experienced higher rates of complications.[57]

A group at Johns Hopkins published a study in 2011 reporting no significant effects on pain, mood, health perceptions, illness intrusiveness, or self-efficacy, but a small improvement in reported energy in a double-blind study to test the efficacy of spiritual exercise in chronically ill adults
.. available scientific evidence does not support claims that faith healing can actually cure physical ailments... One review published in 1998 looked at 172 cases of deaths among children treated by faith healing instead of conventional methods. These researchers estimated that if conventional treatment had been given, the survival rate for most of these children would have been more than 90 percent, with the remainder of the children also having a good chance of survival. A more recent study found that more than 200 children had died of treatable illnesses in the United States over the past thirty years because their parents relied on spiritual healing rather than conventional medical treatment.

Elijah78: Sorry nora544, if i mention the word fasting, it does not mean spiritual praying. I am talking about a cure which people have experienced around me, and that is what was practiced when there were no ''doctors''. It didn't necessarily mean it most be 30 days dear. You have to know that human beings were program to stay without food for quite some time before their muscle can be destroy for energy. but for shorter periods the fats and strange growths/tumors are consumed for energy. Anyway excuse me for my suggestion.

I suggest the OP looks at these webpages:
We recently had a guest at our fasting clinic who was startled to find that on day 7 of her water-only fast, she could no longer feel a uterine fibroid in her lower abdomen that she had been carrying around for years.
http://drbenkim.com/articles-uterine-fibroids.html
http://www.naturalfibroids.com/water-fasting-prevent-and-shrink-uterine-fibroids/#.U_iHvlCw3mc
Water fasting forces the body to burn fat for energy, but you need to monitor this carefully and with supervision, because it is a difficult type of fasting. Many health specialists, alternative or not, state that the benefits by doing this are extraordinary.
I know what you mean we call this Intermittent fasting, we have it in my country also, you eat one day and the next day you drink only water and tea and one or two cup black coffee, that is realy very good for the health and you can lose weight also with this. You should not eat for 24 hours. When you didnot eat the body first eat the cell who are not okay so peole who make this stay healthy and the cancer risk is lower.

I know what nigerians understand on fasting it is the same than the muslim make, I learn about this when Adeboye told his followers to fast for 100 days and I was asking me how a normal person can make this until I found it out, this fasting has no health efect and makes more harm to the body.

I know from what I speak because I lose weight with this and I make this together with a doctor from the University of medicine in Vienna and I can say it works realy realy very good but we learn also to eat healthy that is also very important.

A good friend just told me realy the same last year, also he told me of a RCCG Pastor who told one pregnat woman who awsk him what she should do because the doctor told her that she will need a cesarean because two kids and not the right position, the pastor told her that she should come in the church and with prayer and Gods help all will went well, after 3 days in the church they brought her to the hospital, but it was to late the woman and the kids die.

Daddy go want only to be together with very big nigerians and since the biggest nigeria kneel bevor him he know about his power ,why he has to fly to UK to the wedding of a son from a pastor from nigeria (he is also one of the super rich pastors), that has nothing to to with preaching the gospel.

After a year of itinerant preaching, Lake relocated to Spokane, WA by September 1914 and began ministering in "The Church of Truth". He started an organization called The Divine Healing Institute and opened what he called "Lake's Divine Healing Rooms". Lake ran the "healing rooms" from 1915 until May 1920, at which time he moved to Portland, Oregon, for a similar ministry that lasted for another five years. He continued to found churches and "healing rooms" down the California coast and eventually to Houston, TX in 1927, before finally returning to Spokane in 1931. Upon his return to Spokane he purchased an old church and began his final church and healing room

This doctor has to say it that Jesus healhim. He belong to samaritian purse an american christian charity organisation and they first they make is preaching the gospel and the second is that they have doctors who help people.

This samaritian purse belong to the charity organisation of Billy graham and his son is the head of samaritian purse, so when he come out to tell all that ZMAP had heal him, that will show that prayers not always working and they will lose followers and what is more important is money.

Why this organisation when they claim they will help people who need doctors run away from Liberia, at the moment only doctors with out border (MSF) and health worker from the WHO in the country.

I have a good informations from SOS child village about the situation in the country Liberia and they have also a health center in Monrovia and they didnot have any lose on ebola because they know what they have to do.

That the spanish priest died on ebola has to do that they didnot have the right equipment and that one person make a test and that comes out negative but he had ebola, at the moment one from 150 test didnot show it right that is the next problem but scientiest work on it.

John Graham Lake (March 18, 1870 – September 16, 1935), usually known as John G. Lake, was a Canadian–American leader in the Pentecostal movement that began in the early 20th century, and is known as a faith healer, missionary, and with Thomas Hezmalhalch, co-founder of the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa. Through his 1908–13 African missionary work, Lake played a decisive role in the spread of Pentecostalism in southern Africa, the most successful southern African religious movement of the 20th century.[1]:98[2]:34 After completing his missionary work in Africa, Lake evangelized for 20 years, primarily along the west coast of the United States setting up "healing rooms" and healing campaigns, and establishing churches. Lake was influenced by the healing ministry of John Alexander Dowie and the ministry of Charles Parham.

Lake was born in St. Mary's, Ontario, Canada and moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan with his family in 1886.[4] He was born into a large family of 15 siblings (eight of whom died young).[5] He graduated from high school in St Mary's shortly before the move to Michigan, and claimed to have been ordained into the Methodist ministry at the age of twenty-one.[4] The seminary he claimed to have attended, though, never existed,[6]:53, and census records show he had less than ten years' education.[7] Lake, then, had no formal theological training.

Lake moved to a suburb of Chicago, Harvey, in 1890, where he worked as a roofer and construction worker before returning to his hometown in 1896. According to Lake, he became an industrious businessman and started two newspapers, the Harvey Citizen in Harvey, Illinois and the Soo Times in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan,[4] before beginning a successful career in real estate, and later, becoming a millionaire in life insurance dealings. Historian Barry Morton found no evidence that Lake ever owned the two newspapers, citing sources which indicate the Harvey Citizen was founded by the Harvey township,[8] and the Soo Times was started by George A. Ferris and owned by Ferris & Scott Publishers.[1]:103[9]:394[10] Morton further alleges that Lake exaggerated his business career, and that "clear evidence" shows Lake instead worked as a small-scale contractor, roofer and "house-flipper".[1]:103. In the 1900 Census, Lake's occupation is listed as "carpenter".[11] In February 1893, Lake married Jennie Stevens of Newberry, Michigan, and the two had six children and adopted another before her death in 1908. During the 1890s Lake and many members of his family began appearing regularly in Dowie's services, where they were invariably healed and allegedly brought back from death's door. In 1898 Lake opened a small chapter of Dowie's Christian Catholic Church in Sault Ste Marie and held meetings in the attic of his parents' home. In 1901 he relocated his family to Zion, Illinois, where he worked in the theocratic town's construction department.

After massive retrenchments affected ever-bankrupt Zion City,[12] Lake found new employment around 1905. He later claimed that he maintained relationships with many of the leading figures of his day including railroad tycoon James Jerome Hill, Cecil Rhodes, Mahatma Gandhi, Arthur Conan Doyle, and others.[13][14] When he began his preaching career he claimed to have walked away from a $50,000 year salary (around $1.25 million in 2007 US dollars[15]), as well as his seat on the Chicago Board of Trade. Lake's biographer, Burpeau, reported no evidence outside of Lake's own assertions that Lake was connected to these wealthy financiers and industrialists.[6] According to Morton, contemporary records show Lake never left Zion City at the time Lake was said to be making his name in Chicago; he instead worked in nearby Waukegan as an "ordinary, small-town insurance salesman". Lake does not appear in contemporary newspapers until 1907 where he gave an account of his experience of speaking in tongues.[1]:105 In 1907 Lake was converted to Pentecostalism when Charles Parham staged a tent revival in Zion in an attempt to woo Dowie's supporters. After Parham's departure a group of several hundred "Parhamites" remained in Zion, led by Thomas Hezmalhalch—a recent arrival from the Azusa Street Revival. As 1907 wore on, Lake grew in stature among this group, and was usually listed as co-leader. After Parham's arrest for pedophilia in the summer of 1907, the Parhamites descended into a collective frenzy. Believing that many had been possessed by demons, a number of brutal exorcisms began, in which at least two deaths occurred.[16][17] In the face of arrests and potential mob violence, the Parhamites were forced to flee en masse from Illinois. Lake and Hezmalhalch left for Indianapolis. Once there, they raised $2000 to finance a Pentecostal mission to South Africa.
Missionary work in Africa

With Thomas Hezmalhalch, Lake founded the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa (AFM) in 1908 and carried on missionary work from 1908-13. Lake and Hezmalhalch would appear to be the first Pentecostal missionaries to South Africa, and introduced speaking in tongues. Many of those who joined their church had previously been Zionists allied to Dowie's organization who believed in faith healing. Morton writes [1]:98, "Lake was instrumental in spreading this fusion of Zionism/Pentecotalism that is unique to southern Africa... about half of southern African Christians today [2012] are adherents of it... Lake played a decisive role in the spreading of this 'second evangelization'." Lake's movement attracted many of the early Zionists led by Pieter L. Le Roux of Wakkerstroom[18]:15. Due to the segregationist impulses of the AFM's white membership,[19] the majority of its African members eventually seceded, forming many different Zionist Christian sects.[citation needed]

Just six months after Lake's arrival in South Africa, his first wife, Jennie, died on December 22, 1908.[3] Lake recorded that she died of a stroke. He continued his work in Africa for another four years, raising his seven children with the help of his sister Irene.[3]

Lake's ministry in South Africa was not without controversy. Morton writes[1]:114–15 that Lake was accused of: misappropriating the AFM's funds, particularly that funds did not flow to poor rural areas but were concentrated with Lake and his party; acting dictatorially; exaggerating the effectiveness of the revival movement he led; and staging miraculous healings through audience plants.
