A prophetess identified as Patience Amos Johnson, 30, of Light of God Ministry, Okon Eket in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has been docked over an attempt to kill an11-year-old boy, Mmenyene Christopher Eyo. According to Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr. Glory Emmanuel Edet, one Mr. Christopher Awakessien Eyo, 49, is also facing trial for conspiring with the prophetess to set his son ablaze in the guise of delivering him of wizardry. Edet, who explained that the duo were facing trial following concluded investigation into the case recently, condemned the incessant abuse of children and the callousness with which Akwa Ibom children are treated by their parents who should love them as rare gifts from God. Vanguard gathered that Mmenyene is currently in the custody of his uncle in Afaha Nsit while the prophetess and the boy’s father were remanded in Police custody. My ordeal, by victim Narrating his story, Mmenyene, who was a pupil of QIC Primary School, Ikot Iwud Atan-Akpan in Ikot Iwud village, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, disclosed that his ordeal started when he woke up one morning and narrated a dream he had the previous night of how he saw himself in the midst of people and was given biscuit to eat. He narrated the dream to his paternal grand-mother. “The old woman immediately told the boy’s father, who simply reached a conclusion that it was wizardry which must be promptly dealt with. And as part of the treatment, Mmenyene’s father locked him up in an unused toilet for days without food, from where he took him to a church in Okopedi. “From Okopedi, I was taken to the Light of God Ministry, Okon Eket in Eket LGA, where I was allegedly given olive oil and other mixtures to drink by the prophetess in a bid to make me confess to witchcraft. “When this failed, the prophetess poured kerosene on me from a lantern in the church, from my neck down to the lower parts of my body, struck a match and set me ablaze. “The prophetess then instructed my father to take me away after I had been burnt. I was taken back to Nsit Ibom and locked up again in the unused toilet in the compound for many days without food. “It was at this point that my younger brother, Samuel Christopher Eyo, also dubbed a wizard raised alarm and alerted neighbours, who now called in the police. The Police swung into action by breaking into the toilet to rescue me and arrested both culprits. “My step-mother, who was aware of my ordeal, never came to my rescue. Instead, she accused me of being responsible for the death of her child”. http://www.dailytimes.com.ng/article/witchcraft-prophetess-allegedly-sets-boy-ablaze That is against christianity this new churches bring more harm to nigeria. that is challed a pastor shame on this pentecost pastor. |
That shows only that this are no real man of god this are only businessman not mor. He is the CEO of his Business. |
What should that bring, Nigeria is praying since more than 20 years and it get worst with every day. Do you think God like people who only pray and fast but forget to work. For what God gave us a brain that we can help ourself with his help. |
rationalmind: I even opened a thread sometime ago trying to document those useless prophecies of theirs so as to have an appraisal at the end of the year. Just got discouraged since the mod refused to sticky the thread.Yeah when nothing comes tha it is always the prayer that works, but the best is as i read that Adeboye told his followers they had to pray that no earthquake should come to Nigeria, but I know that nigeria is in this part of africa where this will not happen! |
rationalmind: They have never seen any real vision, they are presently not seeing any real vision, they will never see any real vision.Did any of this rich pastors see the Ebola outbrake in Nigera. i was searching and I can tell you no one see it. But what they can praying and fasting to tell people that they get a better nigeria and the situation is still not better after all this years of praying and fasting but Pastors wioll get richer from day to day. Stuppid followers when will you open your eyes. |
mazaje: These words sum up everything about what is going on with we gullible Africans. . .You wrote it so on point! 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Likes |

Dux01: and up till now people still claimed to be healed by benny hinn?you know all this can't be fake.pls have an open mind.there is something that is drawing people to preachers that is not visible to see.Benny Hinn Healing Crusade Ends in Controversy In April 2005, American Evangelist Benny Hinn arrived in Nigeria for his much-advertised Healing Crusade. He flew into the country aboard his Gulfstream III jet with a retinue of bodyguards. But a few days later, Hinn left Nigeria in annoyance and disappointment. He was irked by the low turnout at the event: only an estimated 300,000 people attended the crusade instead of the six million that had been expected. Hinn was visibly angry because of the huge amount of money he had invested in the crusade. “Four million dollars down the drain,” he is said to have shouted on the final day of the event. The vice president of Benny Hinn Ministries, Jon Wilson, gave a breakdown of the money. He said $3 million was spent on hotel accommodations and technical infrastructure, while $1 million more was used up by members of the local organizing committee. But the Benny Hinn Healing Crusade generated a lot of interest and debate in the local media. A Nigerian pastor, writing in The Guardian, one of the national dailies, urged the Pentecostal leaders to “bury their heads in shame,” given the “prevailing rot” in their churches. And as a face-saving measure, the Pentecostal Federation of Nigeria (PFN)-the umbrella group of most Pentecostal churches in Nigeria-had to expel Bishop Dr. Joseph Olanrewaju Obembe, the president of the PFN chapter in Lagos, General Overseer of the El-Shaddai Bible Church, and a coordinator of the Benny Hinn Healing Crusade, and other pastors who served on the local committee. With the growing decline in religious belief in America and the entire Western world, evangelists are looking to Africa for converts, followers, and disciples. Many Pentecostal churches in Africa receive millions of dollars in aid from their American counterparts to “bring Africans to Christ.” Luis Bush, a cousin of president George W. Bush and one of the leading evangelists in the U.S., supports missionary work in more that thirty African countries. Other American evangelists, such as Benny Hinn, Todd Bentley, and Oral Roberts, as well as the German evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, sponsor miracle crusades across the continent. Pentecostalism has therefore become a thriving business in Africa. In fact, it has become the shortest route to wealth and affluence for the continent’s teeming population of unemployed youths. Local pastors employ all sorts of tricks and techniques to extort money from gullible folks (as well as foreign friends). They use this money to build magnificent churches, erect costly dwellings, buy luxurious cars and aircraft, and live ostentatiously, while their church members languish in poverty, misery, and squalor. In most cases, pastors tell the faithful to give money to God so that God will bless them in return. They tell the people of the divine favors that come to those who pay their tithes and make offerings regularly. Or they use the biblical injunction that says, “givers never lack"-though in Africa, they often do-to squeeze money out of the people. In Nigeria, there have been instances where people have even stolen money to give to their pastors and churches. In March 2003, a cashier in a hotel in Abuja was arrested for allegedly stealing nearly forty million naira (about $40,000) from his employer. The man later confessed to the police that he gave the money to his church, Christ Embassy. And in another case of theft for God, a bank clerk stole forty million naira from his employer and gave ten million to his church as seed money, in the belief that the seed would germinate and yield several times that amount in return, as promised by his pastor. The man, according to the BBC’s Focus on Africa magazine, got appointed to the office of assistant pastor. But before his seed could germinate, the crime was detected and he was arrested. Miracles in Africa Africans are suckers for magic, miracles, and paranormal claims. Generally, among Africans, there is a deep-seated belief in supernatural forces that intervene and alter human destinies for good or ill. These spiritual forces are believed to work in magical and miraculous ways, through signs and wonders that confound the human mind. And the evangelical churches are capitalizing on this superstitious element in African thought and culture to peddle and propagate their paranormal services. They promise divine healing and instant solutions for problems and diseases. Pentecostal pastors claim they have the power to make the deaf hear, the blind see, the lame walk, and the infertile give birth. Recently, Gilbert Deya, a self-proclaimed archbishop from Kenya, got himself into trouble: he said he could make infertile black couples give birth to miracle babies. But police investigations revealed child theft and baby trafficking. (See my article “The Kenya Miracle Babies Scandal,” in the September 2005 Skeptical Briefs.) Some years ago, a Nigerian pastor, Temitope Joshua, of the Synagogue of All Nations, announced to the world that he could cure HIV/AIDS. In 2001, German evangelist Reinhard Bonnke was reported to have raised a person from the dead. There have been a lot of such indiscriminate claims of miracles and divine healing by Nigeria’s televangelists and end-time preachers-Chris Oyakhilome, Enoch Adeboye, David Oyedepo, Helen Ukpabio, Matthew Ashimolowo, et al. These faith healers use the money from miracle seekers to put up billboards and sponsor radio and television programs advertising their miracles. Last year, the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission had to ban the broadcast of miracles on national television. Faith healing is the greatest threat to scientific medicine and health-care delivery in Africa. Miracles have no basis in science, reason, or common sense. All claims of divine cures and healing cannot be reconciled with the dire health situation in Africa. Africa has the highest infant-mortality rate in the world. And millions there are still dying of preventable diseases like malaria and tuberculosis. According to the United Nations, 6,000 African children die from-and 11,000 become infected with-HIV/AIDS every day. And if there are indeed people with supernatural powers to heal the sick, raise the dead, and cure all ailments, why are human beings suffering and dying? It is quite obvious that all claims of miracles and faith healing are fake. As the French philosopher and writer Ernest Renan rightly pointed out, “No miracle has ever taken place under conditions which science can accept.” Experience shows, without exception, that “miracles” occur only in the presence of persons who are disposed to believe in them. So, faith healers are just taking advantage of the African predicament. They are cashing in on the desperation and gullibility of Africans to enrich themselves and to promote their churches. Africa needs science, not superstition; critical thinking, not dogma; open mindedness, not blind faith; reason, not revelation; and industry and technological advancement, not the Holy Spirit and miracles. Africa needs skepticism, not Pentecostalism. http://www.csicop.org/sb/show/benny_hinn_healing_crusade_ends_in_controversy/ |
deeobserver209: Hopefully Nigeria will bounce back. The government should try harder to develop our infrastructure. That's our biggest problem. The ratio between recurrent and capital expenditures should be reviewed to allow more funds to critical sectors that would stimulate the economy. Ones our infrastructural development is set, Nigeria will join the ranks of top 10 biggest economies in the world.Rwanda is good but is their any politican or pastor who had a jet from this country. I want to know is their any rich pastor in rwanda. |
read this than you will also understand why it is very good what Uk make http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creationism here in main europa we learn the nomal evolution we never where teaches about creationism. Many of this new churches teach this. |
Hurray2030: Na wa for u ohhh. I am sure you are not a CHRISTAIN. Daddy G.O has far more good sides than the other.A man who controls over 25k parishes must be a super man in God's glory to do that. While I agree he is still human, only a fool will contest the fact that he is a blessing to the Hunan race.Nobody shd and equate him to God.It is wellwhat is he a blessing to the human who help a rich nigerian to steal money, he gets also his part of the money and now this guy is a pastors in his church. That shows steal from the poor or the goverment and sow seed to a big pastor and nothing will happen.! He is a good businessman but a fake christian! |
whocan say that it is no tru! |
Nigeria will change when i didnot read in every second anser pray, we have to pray for the country. I just read they start a 3 days prayer conference in Abuja about Nigeria, that it get better. how can a country be better with this Dear Watchmen, always praying and when should the people work! |
I know more of this fake pastors who could not heal themself. This healer John Lake his fist Wife died when he was in south africa and he died with 65 on stroke and he is the one who makes healing schools read about this fake man and he is the teacher of many nigerian rich pastors! ‘The Devil Who Heals’: Fraud and Falsification in the Evangelical Career of John G Lake, Missionary to South Africa 1908–1913 Barry Morton a a Ivy Tech Community College, University of South Africa, USA https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/view/16592889/the-devil-who-heals-fraud-and-falsification-in-the-evangelical- |
I alwasy see pray, so it is normal that many nigerians are so brainwashed that they pray for all and Pastors will also take money from robbery for seed sowing, Adeboye is the best he give thiefs also a job as minister so he is not better than the goverment becouse both take the money from the poor and that is why nigeria is in this situation. No prayer will help. what will help is working and go on the streets and fight for the right goverment and stop enrich your fake pastors take this money and build jobs and fight against corrupt leaders also this could give more jobs. this comes when people are poor and didnot have a future! |
I know this since a long time because when you start to look what Adeboye told his people it is not always tru, also the story how he start the church with no money that is not tru because he get a full working church from the pastor who had the church before. He know very well that when it works the business that he could build his own empire and call it christianity but it is not. |

andyzoga: I'll appreciate it if you could educate me on this rather than putting in sentiments here. I have no business with any pastor having jets or not. Manny4life has given me a meaningful contribution here and that's why am seeking more to add to my knowledge on the subject I brought forward. I got to hear of Shepherd One for the first time from someone too, so need I to know more about it so as not to pass any wrong information to anyone. Sentiments apart please, thank you! When the pope rent a plane from the italien airways the name of the plane is sheperd one. It is a normal Plane where people fly every day. I hear from the Bishop from Vienna that the Pope sit together with the jounalist and he speak with them or they pray for every country they fly over with the plane and send a message. |
Eberex: The water is hidden inside a blue rock called ringwoodite that lies 700 kilometres underground in the mantle, the layer of hot rock between Earth’s surface and its core. The huge size of the reservoir throws new light on the origin of Earth’s water. Please read than you will understand For years, Jacobsen has been synthesizing ringwoodite, colored sapphire-like blue, in his Northwestern lab by reacting the green mineral olivine with water at high-pressure conditions. (The Earth’s upper mantle is rich in olivine.) He found that more than one percent of the weight of the ringwoodite’s crystal structure can consist of water -- roughly the same amount of water as was found in the sample reported in the Nature paper. “The ringwoodite is like a sponge, soaking up water,” Jacobsen said. “There is something very special about the crystal structure of ringwoodite that allows it to attract hydrogen and trap water. This mineral can contain a lot of water under conditions of the deep mantle.” |
andyzoga: It is a famous special aircraft used by the Pope and operated by the Italian Air Force. You can read more about it online.I know what you mean but it is nothing what a nIgerian pastors has because the pope has no privat jet. He rent a plane from the Italien airways and he always come together with many people many journalist and some bishops travel with him together and their is nothing like a first class, he always makw a press conference when he fly. The Pope has no private Jet!!!!! Like this fake nigerian rich pastors. |
http://www.northwestern.edu/newscenter/stories/2014/06/new-evidence-for-oceans-of-water-deep-in-the-earth.html that is the right source and please read this and it has nothing to do with the bible. Read how the water is soory but they writing from the @op is a little bit fake New Evidence for Oceans of Water Deep in the Earth Water bound in mantle rock alters our view of the Earth’s composition EVANSTON, Ill. --- Researchers from Northwestern University and the University of New Mexico report evidence for potentially oceans worth of water deep beneath the United States. Though not in the familiar liquid form -- the ingredients for water are bound up in rock deep in the Earth’s mantle -- the discovery may represent the planet’s largest water reservoir. The presence of liquid water on the surface is what makes our “blue planet” habitable, and scientists have long been trying to figure out just how much water may be cycling between Earth’s surface and interior reservoirs through plate tectonics. Northwestern geophysicist Steve Jacobsen and University of New Mexico seismologist Brandon Schmandt have found deep pockets of magma located about 400 miles beneath North America, a likely signature of the presence of water at these depths. The discovery suggests water from the Earth’s surface can be driven to such great depths by plate tectonics, eventually causing partial melting of the rocks found deep in the mantle. |
"Firstly in the standard of care which I received, which is a world apart from what people are receiving in West Africa at the moment despite a lot of aid organisations' best efforts. That what he says is very important and that is what I didnot hear from the american who put all on God. |
It iws great and I wait for the next pastor! |
andyzoga: Hey! Have you ever heard of "Shepherd One"?What you mean with shepherd one please explaine! |
Breeze5000: Done, Thanks! That is what you feel because I know that you are a follower of pastor chris and all this pastors in Nigeria the rich one all is what they want to enrich themself and to build their own empire. Every of this churches have their own doctrine so why a follower of christ embassy should not marry a RCCG and Adeboye preach that Rccg followers should not marry from other churches. All what this pastors have together is the love of money and making their own doctrins and their own empire and they have nothing to do with christianity! |
Pastors Christ has studied Architecture in nigeria not religion, so how he can have a PHD in religion when he didnot study it before but i know the pastors of this nen churches can all preaching religion without study religion. when you look non of this pastors from this new churches heas realy study religion. Pastor christ is a fake Pastor and I read what he speaks about his wife. That shows that he hneed her only that he look married. |
cold: Funny how JoAgbaje has been eerily quiet lately. It would be interesting to see how he'd spin this one. The thoughts of his co travellers Gombs,Mabell and co would also make for good reading.Yes I was waiting that they write something but they didnot know what they can write! I know it is hard when the hero toppled from his pedestals. |
Bobby4090: The Man should make out time for his family. its as simple as that. How can the man and his family be leaving in two different continents in the name of church programmes. How can Pastor Chris's house thats off Opebi street in ikeja be filled with single and unmarried church girls when his family is begging for his attention. What manner of family and example is that. Does he think its just money that a married woman and kids need to make them happy? They need his affection, his presence, his direction and his leadership. If all these things are lacking then something is wrong somewhere. How can you and your kids leave apart for 16 years and you call yourself a father. Pastor Chris knows whats up and thats why he is happy with the arrangement. All those girls that flock round him and travel with his to different church programmes while his wife is being excluded are very wicked and home breakers. This calls for an intervention of the church leaders please. But pastor christ writes that his wife didnot understand it that he has no time for her. |
Acidosis: I expect the PhD pastor to understand this fact. From which University did he get his PDH! Pastor chris |
gift01: Inasmuch as I don't judge a one-sided story but I know the whites are down to earth and I know its almost unthinkable for a man and his wife to leave on seperate continents. The drama is still unfolding. May God's spirit of forgiveness reign in their heartI have a friend and she and her husband have to live in two different countries because of work. But what I always remember and it was only for 5 years that the husband come home every 3 weeks to spend a long weekend with the family, every holidays the wife went with the two kids to his country that they could be together but this is only possible when you know it is only for some years not a life time. I still have the feeling that it was pastor chris who is the bad guy. |
For a company I see it okay when they have a private jet when it can be used by different people. For a very rich owner of a copmpany it is also okay when he has a private jet. For pastors they don't need it, because they know their programs weeks before and please don't tell me that you need to fly to London from Abuja or Lagos you need a private jet because there is no flight. Every pastor who fly first class has a flamboyant lifestile and that is not christian like. Adeboye was in London for a wedding from one of this pastors sons who have problems in Uk so please tell me is this spreading the gospel. I know also that Adeboye write that he has to travel to 144 different countries and than I read that he come to main europa only every second year, and this is possible with a normal plane because from lagos you can fly every day to Europa, that show that this is also the same pastor who like his luxury lifestile. And Oyedepo is not better he is the same, every time i read his name in my language it sound a little bit like a dirty word. |
