The suspect, a 15-year-old boy is now in custody

The Oxford High School students killed were Tate Myre, 16; Hana St. Juliana, 14, and Madisyn Baldwin, 17, according to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard.

Three are in critical condition with gunshot wounds, including a 14-year-old girl who is on a ventilator after having surgery. A 14-year-old boy is in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the jaw and head, Bouchard said. Three students are in stable condition and the teacher who was shot has been discharged

CNN’s anchor Chris Cuomo has been suspended “indefinitely, pending further evaluation,” after new evidence surfaced showing his efforts to help his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, out of an ongoing sexual harassment scandal.

This comes a day after the release of thousands of documents from the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James showing that Chris Cuomo used his contacts to dig into the governor’s accusers.

CNN announced that the suspension was the equivalent of a cable news shockwave. “When Chris admitted to us that he had offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly,” the spokesperson continued. “But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second.”

Christmas Day explosion ripped through Nashville city’s downtown, damaging store, homes and injuring three people.

According to report, before the explosion, witnesses noticed an R.V. parked across the street from her apartment. “It started playing this message, “‘Evacuate now. This vehicle has a bomb and will explode. Evacuate now.’”

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued what was termed as ‘an emergency use authorization for chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine to treat patients hospitalized with COVID-19’.

The drugs used to treat malaria and other conditions is said to have little scientific evidence and are effective in treating Covid-19.



In its statement, Department of Health and Human Services, HHS said:

“Anecdotal reports suggest that these drugs may offer some benefit in the treatment of hospitalized COVID-19 patients.
“The safety profile of these drugs has only been studied for FDA approved indications, not COVID-19.”

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday announced the cessation of movement in Lagos,  Abuja and Ogun States for 14 days as part of measures to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The curfew takes effect from Monday March 30th at 11pm.

Part of the announcement reads:

''Based on the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC, I am directing the cessation of all movements in Lagos and the FCT for an initial period of 14 days with effect from 11pm on Monday, 30th March 2020. This restriction will also apply to Ogun State due to its close proximity to Lagos and the high traffic between the two States.

The Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi on Sunday has directed residents to stay at home from Monday March 30th till April 13th.

The statement announced shutdown of all borders and imposed a ban on all commercial activities in the states as well as intra state travels, except for those bordering on essential services violators risked a six-month jail term.

The number of death due to coronavirus virus in the United State has increased to more the 2000. New York, New Jersey and Connecticut has placed a 14-day travel ban to slow down the spread.

With more than 121,900 cases and 2,054 deaths nationwide, the three states make up more than half of the cases and nearly half of the deaths according to CNN.

A church in Ogba area of Lagos was allegedly robbed during a vigil service by three men. Two escaped while one was apprehended.

The robber was then taken to the police station but upon getting there, the police officers demanded down payment of N20,000 before the case could be attended to. The parishioner left refusing to pay the bribe to the police officers. But the next day, three officers visited the church threatened to return the thief and even arrested the parishioner for not giving them the bribe of N20,000 demanded.

Former Abia State governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has been sentenced to 12 years imprisonment by the federal high court in Lagos after being found guilty on all 39-count charged against him.

Kalu, 59, was convicted of fraud of N7.65billion when he was governor of the state between 1999 and 2007.

The Federal Government of Nigeria had just announced the commencement of train services from Lagos to Ibadan. And guess what? it’s FREE from now till March 2020.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi via his Twitter handle.
He added that the take-off point will be Iju train station in Lagos.

Two people have been killed and three injured after a terrorist attack near London Bridge on Friday, police have confirmed.

The terrorist, Usman Khan attacked innocent people with knife and stabbed two to death and three others left with injuries.

The terrorist was wrestled to the ground by passersby who disarmed him before he was shot dead by police officers shortly before 2pm.

Khan was among a group arrested in London over an “al Qaeda-inspired plot” to bomb the London Stock Exchange. He pleaded guilty to terrorism charges in 2012, but served under half of his 16 year sentence and was released in December 2018.

Two nuns belonging to different orders in Sicily both traveled to Africa for missionary work but went back to Italy pregnant.

One of the women, aged 34 didn’t know she was pregnant until she started experiencing stomach ache and went to the doctor. She has been transferred to a different order in Palermo and may leave monastic life to raise the child.

The other woman who is mother superior had left her home country to Madagascar after she was discovered to be one month pregnant.

Zimbabwe former president, Robert Mugabe has died, aged 95.

The ex-president who died on Friday September 6th was an independence hero who ruled for 37 years. Mugabe had been receiving treatment in a hospital in Singapore since April. He was ousted in a military coup in 2017.

He was born on 21 February 1924 in what was then Rhodesia – a British colony, run by its white minority. After criticizing the government of Rhodesia in 1964 he was imprisoned for more than a decade without trial.

In a statement by The United States Embassy in Nigeria says effective from Thursday, August 29, 2019, Nigerians applying for tourism, student and business visas will not only pay the N59, 200 fee but will have to pay an extra $110 (N40, 700) after the visa has been issued to them bringing the total cost to N99, 900.

Applicants seeking the L1 Visa (work permit) will pay an extra N112, 100 if given visas while those applying for H4 Visa (dependency/spousal) will pay an extra N66, 600.



The US Embassy adopts the rate of N370/$1 for Nigerians which is higher than both the official rate and the black market rate.

This move is a retaliation to Nigeria’s visa fee application to US citizens.

A section of the pedestrian bridge in Yaba area of Lagos collapsed on Saturday.

According to The Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA), no casualty was recorded.


“An empty truck with registration number AAA 364 XS crashed onto the pedestrian bridge at the bus stop as a result of brake failure, thereby damaging the bridge railings. “ However, no loss of life nor injury was sustained at the scene,” the LASEMA boss said.

Entrance to the pedestrian bridge had been closed for public use.

According to report, the Trump administration will begin arrests of undocumented immigrants from tomorrow Sunday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid is expected to affect two New York Neighborhoods amongst other cities. ICE agents were said to have been turned away in Harlem section of Manhattan and Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood on Saturday because they lack warrant.

Trump had said the raids would focus on criminals, saying agents would “take criminals out, put them in prison, or put in them in prison in the countries they came from.”

Wikileaks co-founder Julian Assange has been arrested at the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

The 47-year-old Ecuadorian-Australian national was initially taken to a central London police station after his arrest before appearing in court. He was found guilty of failing to surrender to the court.

He faces US federal conspiracy charges related to one of the largest ever leaks of government secrets and up to five years in US prison if convicted on the charges of conspiracy to commit computer intrusion.

Grammy-nominated rapper Nipsey Hussle has been killed. He was shot dead outside his clothing store in Los Angeles.

The 33 year-old rapper whose real name is Ermias Ashgedom was shot multiple times in the parking lot at Marathon Clothing on West Slauson Avenue in South Los Angeles at about 3:25 p.m. and he was pronounced dead at a hospital. Two other men were also shot and they are receiving medical treatment.
