With the way things are going, whoever is an associate of Buhari will definitely have an explanation to make in the future. There is a time to speak up and a time to keep silent. If Buhari's associates such as Prof Yemi Osinbaji, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Adams Oshiomole, Bola Tinubu, Rotimi Amaechi etc. failed to dissociate themselves from the tyrannical attitude of the President. It may spell doom for their political future...

Remember, Buhari is old and has no future in politics. People like Fashola, Osinbajo, Ameachi, etc may be the ones to bear the consequences in the nearest future.
Just like Abacha. Every family member ran into hiding.

Yes,they don't care about our wellbeing. it's all about their interest.
Look at what happened to Maduro,no doubt he won the election but the US reduce the popularity he got from the low class citizens by placing the most distabilising sanctions on the government. If the sanctions are not there Maduro is more popular than the opposition in Venezuela that's why pompeo and John Bolton is now talking of military intervention when they notice he still got the full support of Venezuela military.
I'm telling if Buhari protect the wests interest today by enriching them especially the "Arm industries" then you should be expecting a series of damaging report of major opposition in Nigeria by the western media.
I sort of don't agree with this. Maduro runs and anti democratic government. In fact if you've been following the venezuela economic crisis, you will find same similarities with our current government. Always blazing opposition while Venezuelans had to trek to colombia to buy foodstuffs.

I believe the US' intervention is justified.

Read this and tell me we are not going the same way

The CCT order remains valid until the court of appeal sets it aside. As at today, there is no court of appeal order setting aside the order of the CCT.
I understand that the appeal court already refrained the CCT from hearing or ruling on the matter.

A lot of you are ignorant and understandably so. The constitution is valid on the grounds of a removal and not on the grounds of a suspension.

In this regard there is no limitation placed on the President in terms of suspension. He is only limited in terms of removal.

That is the legal loophole taken advantage of and it is extremely legal to exploit since he by law did not Remove but also by law, Suspended
Oga the definition of suspension is temporary removal.

Even though the interpretation act gives the president the power to suspend the CJN, PMB acted based on a very clear order of the CCT. The president cannot refuse to obey a valid court order. Onnoghen should go to court to challenge the order if he’s aggrieved.
But isn't that order a breach of court processes since a higher court had already stopped the action of the lower court?

Technically, the CJN has only been suspended not removed. He should go defend himself against the corruption allegations levelled against him, and if found not guilty he can get back his erstwhile position. Being CJN is not his father's property.
This does not make sense. Suspension is removal.

I'm not talking about Buhari or anybody body!I'm talking about national interest. If we show so much division like this because of ethnicity, the it will be very difficult to protect our sovereignty.
Then he should have thought of that all along. I can bet all I own that many will support the international powers.

That's why whenever you have the opportunity to lead a people, make sure you are carrying everyone along in words and actions.

What are these guys above me saying? What's happening in Venezuela shouldn't be allowed to happen here. No country across the the world has any right to endorse any government in other country under international law! What the wests are doing there is pure nonsense! Nigerians must revolt against any other country from meddling into our internal affairs.
In fact we need to ban some international observer of any country that cannot allow our observers too to observe her election.
If at all we have any form of irregularities in our in our internal affairs, our judiciary is strong enough to address that and if our judiciary doesn't function as expected,we have international community like UN,ICC and AU to address our issues. if refused to mention EU because they serve and protect our interest!
Nigerians rise up and protect the interest and sovereignty of our great nation!.
The only people that will revolt is the north if Buhari does not win the elections.

SS, SE, and SW will never join any revolt.

Canada is a developed country yet is suffering from this sweeping recession but you expect a developing country as Nigeria whose economy is oil dependent especially at a time oil is selling at a low $50 rate, not to be in recession?

If the stupid Jonathan hadn't looted us dry at a time oil was selling at $110 rate, if he had saved more as well as constructed major infrastructures, we wouldn't be suffering at this time oil is selling at $50 rate. Better still, if the klepto hadn't also looted our foreign reserve from $48b to $26b, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in.

Despite earning 60% less than the previous regime, this admnistration has come up with several social, agricultural and infrastructural projects. Look at Lagos-Ibadan road and other roads being constructed, our new railway lines, new rice mills, cheap fertilizer production, Npower social schemes, tradermoni etc yet you expect us to vote in a useless party that destroyed our economy again?

Atiku, neva again.
Nonesense talk. Must Nigerian Government die on top oil? Canada has a diversified economy and the drop in oil price won't cause much harm.

Can't Buhari think creatively instead of crying over spilt milk? Or maybe Osinbajo should come and answer this question for him.

I hope Gru.bsk's encounter is not an individual VO thing and I hope it will cut accross board to those who had "smaller" bills before now.

I just read the transcript of ML.MUM. I decided to check oakbend and saw their prices online so it's not hidden. The VO also confirms that she's seen the bill about a thousand times.

So if the Embassy can easily get those documents online, is that not enough evidence to prosecute oakbend for medicaid fraud since they are convinced that such discounted bills are a fraud?

If it is not enough evidence to prosecute Oakbend then why is it enough to refuse a Visa?

Lets take it down a notch. You've seen the bills a thousand times but have you ever launched an inquiry into oakbend's medical practices? At least this would put them in the clear or expose the fraud once and for all except there's a bigger picture I cannot see.

Grubsk:
VO: there have been a lot of medical insurance fraud in the US and we are trying to manage it the little way we can; most hospitals give you a lower cost for child birth and afterward they go back to claim it from insurance and we are trying to reduce it by making sure you are going to the right hospital; please can you show me your correspondence between you and the hospital?

VO: oh okay; I can see that you have been offered $8k for CS and the cost of childbirth in New Jersey is approximately $16k which means they will later go and claim the balance on your behalf.

ME: oh is that what they do? Wow that not good. If I was given a higher price I could have plan for it and if it’s something we can afford definitely we will go for it, we can afford it, it’s something I can actually afford on my own if that was the cost they gave me.

VO: okay can you please give me a minute let me talk to my supervisors?

ME: Sure not a problem

( aunty mute the microphone spoke to the people behind and I could literally hear their conversation)

VO: please can you do something for me?

ME: sure what is it?

VO: can you look for another hospital in New Jersey that can give you the right bill, I understand you have family in New Jersey but they are other cheaper states where you can have you baby
(And she looks back, talking to her supervisors “do I need to take her passport? “ Oga said “no we are not revoking her visa so we don’t need her passport”
And she turns back to me after bringing out a white paper )
Can you send in your correspondence with the new hospital and attached your bank statement and send it to this Dhl address, since we are not revoking your visa I don’t think we need your passport.
Thanks a lot for posting this transcript and congratulations!

As the resident Nairaland psychologist, I judge that some Nairalanders are not happy at the prospect of agreeing to a bill of $16,000+. Lol. cheesy

I am really glad that the VO was ready to review the hospital with you and provided you with the option to proceed or not. This is excellent customer service and it is what the USA has been known globally for.
