This is the point those shouting about constitutionality refused to take into account. According to our constitution, Saraki and other decampees lost their senate seat the day they decamped to another party. Since Saraki is the latest advocate for the constitution and our democracy that they say is in danger, we should all tell him to democratically vacate his seat in accordance with the constitution. An artificially created r-APC that already signed up with CUPP or whatever that contraption is called did not make it mpossible or impracticable for APC to function. So, there is no justification whatsoever for the defection.

Which section of the Constitution na? Besides he won't vacate and APC will drag him to court. By the time the Supreme Court decides, his tenure would be over.

No they are still a good portion coming to live illegally in America because they have more jobs here. If a Canadian plans to immigrate to the US they still have to go through the proper channels like other immigrants which is not easy. They think they have the same rights as American citzens in this country but they don’t. Even they get free stuff and what is their standard of living. Government assistance is nothing to brag about , they give you that because there’s not enough employment . Why do people around the world still want to flock to the US than Canada even though the US has tighter immigration. Reason being there is more opportunities to make more money and be more independent which is better than living on government assitance.

Read and comprehend the article well. Canadians don't need a visa to enter the U.S. and can stay up to 6 months visa free. Older Canadians who go down south for a warmer climate during winter time, forget this and may stay a little bit passed the 6 months. The reason this article is extremely comical for anyone who lives in North America, is that Canada has a better safety net than the U.S. Why would any Canadian intentionally live underground in the U.S when they can cross the border and receive free housing, medical care, monthly gov't allowance, etc ? Though I don't know the party this moneybag politician belongs to, I must admit that this is wrong in all ways. The INEC ad-hoc staff will be paid after the elections and I am sure they have enough for refreshment.

Either APC or PDP, this is wrong, vote buying is a PDP thing and should not be encouraged under this administration. The man does not need to call it a bribe before we know this is an outright inducement.

Let us try to properly understand the article before concluding that Canadians are also running away from Canada. A couple of points to take note of from the article are that:

1. Visa overstay is not the same as becoming an unauthorized immigrant. If you overstay your visa by even one day you will be counted as part of visa overstay but not yet an unauthorized immigrant. The article also mentioned that “While Canada is the biggest culprit when it comes to visa overstays, the Center for Migration Studies estimates that Canadians accounted for just 0.4 per cent of unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. in 2015, while Mexicans made up more than half of the unauthorized population.”

2. One major reason for Canadian overstaying their visas in the US is due to the fact that Canadian typically do not require visas to visit the US for tourism or business for up to six months and as a result some Canadians end up staying in the U.S. longer than the standard six-month limit for tourists because they don’t realize they’re breaking the law.

I was going to berate the two posters above me for not reading your post before commenting but then it struck me that 93,000 Canadians overstayed in the US. Let's even assume that 50% of that number got married to US citizens in 2017, the remaining 50% stayed away from Canada for over 6 months probably working or just roaming around.

That looks like running away to me.
