A group that recently split from Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), a militant organization that has claimed responsibility for bombing numerous oil facilities, has claimed that former President Goodluck Jonathan was the grand patron of the NDA. In a statement issued today by Cynthia Whyte, an alias for a male spokesman, the splinter group also named several former and serving governors as sponsors of the Niger Delta Avengers. Those named as “sponsors” included Governors Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Seriaki Dickson of Bayelsa.
Mr. Whyte also identified Senator Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom State, ex-militant turned contractor, Government Ekpemupolo (alias Tompolo), Raymond Dokpesi, the founder of African Independent Television (AIT), the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Kingsley Kuku, Kimi Angozi, and Patrick Akpobolokemi as other sponsors.

The splinter group, which renamed itself Reformed Niger Delta Avengers (RNDA), had recently declared its opposition to NDA’s destruction of oil infrastructure in the region, warning that it would disclose the names of individuals and groups backing the militant group.

Mr. Whyte’s statement revealed that the NDA’s sympathizers included Edwin K. Clark, Tony Uranta, Daniel Alabrah, Ms. Annkio Briggs, and Olisa Metuh, a former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Reformed Niger Delta Avengers named Oyege Nimi Brown, VIP Timothy, Joshua Macaiver, Paul Bebenimibo and others as the main operatives of the NDA, adding that Udengs Eradiri, the president of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), also known as Brigadier General Murdoch Agbinibo, serve as the NDA’s chief spokesman.

Following the release of the list, a source close to former President Jonathan told SaharaReporters that there was “no iota of truth to the claim that former President Goodluck Jonathan has a hand in the violence in the Niger Delta.”

The source, who asked not to be identified, said he was in touch with Mr. Jonathan, adding that the former president was considering issuing a formal statement to dismiss the claims made by Mr. Whyte.

“If former President Jonathan wanted chaos in Nigeria and the Niger Delta, he would have refused to concede the election to General Buhari and the APC,” the source said.

I heard the process is now completely online (Dont know the process). Then, we did it manually. so I will suggest you go to the CAC website for more info.

When u write ABC Limited, it could pass as the company name. But when u write ABC Ltd, it becomes obvious that the company ABC is registered as an LLC

Note that LTD can also be used in a company's name. the question is using it differently from the approved CAC name.

e. g
1) CAC approved ABC LTD, but you filled ABC LIMITED or use it for official correspondence.

2) CAC approved ABC LIMITED, but yoy filled ABC LTD or use it for official correspondence.

Any difference or Implications?

Between December 2015 and January 2016, a friend of mine registered his LLC himself, during which I learnt that the process was simple and straight-forward.

At the point of submission and checking compliance with all necessary documents and correct filling of forms, the only observation was that his company name availability approved was "ABC LIMITED", while what was written on all the forms filled and MEMAT was "ABC LTD" and the CAC staff insisted that it must be corrected before submitting again.

That was done, and the company already registered. The question now is:

Legally, is there any implication using Limited in place of Ltd or vice-versa for official correspondences?

Chiselling or sleeves can work. But most times the former is practically feasible except you can predetermine the exact spot it will go in at casting stage.

Also don't let the pipes to run into the septic tank at middle point. Because most Nairalanders whose site I went to correct, the sewerage pipes enter the tanks at middle so it get full easily. They got the slope wrong from the manholes and Inspection chambers.

The sewage pipe entering into the septic tank from the IC/MH, Was there a kind of sleeve used to make its entry point on the wall of the tank when casting? or it will be chiselled out?

I need some clarifications for a friend concerning the e-xams in the aspect of questions that are fill in the gap without options.

1. Will there be some kind of marking by the lecturer for such questions without options?

2. If No, how does the computer take care of errors as spellings for instance?

IMO as i explained to him, there might be some form of manual marking for such questions. i dont know if am right.

When you say based on his observations, He must have been working with quacks or just draftmen, Pls who seals/approves the draftman's work?

If a draftman does a bad job, and its approved by a registered Architect to be used by the Engineer for his own design, who takes the blame of quackery?

When we as professionals in most cases just put money before the integrity of our profession, then there will be continued cases of quacks in the country.

A draftman's work cannot be approved without a professional been involved. So forget that issue of "na quacks him dey deal with" and let all professionals come together to weed off the quacks from the industry.

When issues like this come up for delibration, one thing certainly displayed is the lack of coordination amongst professionals involved in a particular project. This is mainly the fault of the professional bodies where the professionals belong, NSE, NIA, COREN, ARCON, etc.

When an architect feels he is above a civil engineer or vice versa on a building project for instance, then we can never progress. The Architect, The Civil/structural Engineer and the Services Engineers are very important in every building project.

I have been involved in quite a number of Fed govt projects representing my firm as the Mechanical Engineering Consultant on these projects. The Architects i have worked with have always allowed every professional in His/Her field do their work, not interfering and boasting of being the project team lead,raising shoulders as some so-called Architects do, "we are the architects na we get the project" ahah, to much unnecessary pride. As a Mechanical services Engineer, I am as important as the Electrical services Engineer, The Structural Engineer and The Architect for the success of the project.

Of what use is a building if it cannot be occupied due to poor services( Mechanical and Electrical)? Of what use are the services if the structural Engineer cannot make the building stand? or what use is an Architect's concept if the structural Engineer cannot make it come to reality?

As an Engineer, never unilaterally correct an error you THINK exists in an Architectural design without discussing it with the Architect to hear His/her views. Same applies to the Architect on Engineering designs. Most especially, Architects have taken over Services (M&E) drafting (I can't call it design, because they have little or no idea about in-dept services design).

An Architect cannot seal/approve a structural, mechanical, or electrical design. A structural engineer cannot seal/approve even a mechanical engineering design, so what are we talking about. As i said earlier our professional bodies and the development control agencies are largely to be blamed.
