Deboadekoya93: Good day,
I have been a follower of this thread since 2016 when I had the American dream for graduate studies unfortunately I was denied F1 visa about 4 times both in Abuja and Lagos. No doubt America is a blessed country, almost every Nigerians dream country, one BIG MISTAKE I made which I don’t want other people seeking quality education and a better life outside Africa should make is LIMITING YOURSELF TO USA alone. In much as you are applying to USA you should explore other opportunities, there are several academic destinations with opportunities but then we Nigerians don’t research them rather we close our eye against them, Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa on a daily basis hundreds of F1 visa seekers troop to the US embassy for visas unfortunately they can’t approve everyone, even genuine students at the end of the day get denied, it’s now turned to a game of luck. USA keeps exploiting us right from the application process, Sevis fee, application fee, transcripts evaluation fee, writing standardized test like GRE and Toefel etc even when they know Nigeria is an English speaking country because they know how desperate we are they put us through this rigorous process. For those interested in exploring other opportunities such as studying in BULGARIA in eastern Europe don’t hesitate to contact me on 08136866087 same on Whatsapp too.
Best wishes to everyone. Which yeye Bulgaria where you can't even get part time job as a student, no work permit nothing nothing, please western Europe like Germany and co..... is the best . Eastern Europe is nonsense. |

fairheart: To answer your questions:
1: You don't need to go to the interview with your academic transcript. If the embassy need it at all, they will ask you to send it to them. So, no worries. Your certificate will do, and I am sure they won't even check that, too.
2: She is your aunt, not your Mom or Dad. So why adding her? Were you part of the lottery she won? Adding her doesn't add any chance; it might even dent it. Mind your own business!
3: N19M. is cool. You should not worry about this as you should whether or not you've prepared well enough.
4: Your IELTS test score is cool. 7-band is fine.
Goodluck on your interview. What of those that already added theirs |

fairheart: For those of you that can afford it and not minding the extra expenses and for 100% positive visa outcome, go and become a registered member of EducationUSA in Lagos or Abuja. Registration fee is $200. Every member of this agency are US embassy priority. They are the first class student visa applicant at the embassy. At least, as much as I am informed, I am yet to see an EAC member denied. Your Senators', governors' and commissioners' kids go through this route. But to be eligible for membership, you must not have applied to any school at the point of registration; once the agency knows you have gotten admission yourself, they will not register you. There is also age limit: for undergraduate student, I think it is 20 (it was 21 as of 2009); for masters, it has to be under 28 or so. Visit the Lagos or Abuja branch to confirm.
You must be 100% genuine student. They will do background check on ya. You will do WES, write English test, even when they school don't need it.
In addition, I share in the grieve and pain of those who are recently denied. A very good friend I met on this forum was delayed this morning, and it is painful because we did everything a student could possibly do for a successful visa outcome. Yet she was denied, for Heaven's sake reason. Things are changing very fast now. Only the rich and those with extra-ordinary luck will get through. While the rate of denial goes up, we are watching and observing. With the recent article on Nigerian newspapers, we will definitely get the crowd down, and then chances of issuance will increase again. I know the embassy policy will change again, and more visa will be issued, perhaps towards late 2019--as crowd would have reduced significantly.
Don't give up on your dreams. God bless you all. At this rate of high denials, I doubt there's need of going for visa interview. |

Spring2019: Good morning everyone. I just got a mail from my school that the shipping of the I-20 through USPS express which I will get in three days is 150 dollars. I thought some people ship theirs with 65 dollars.
How did they get theirs that cheap. Also can the school send it to a US address and then the person will then send it to me in Nigeria for less. Please I need responses from people who have gone through this Students pay to get their I-20 shipped? I'm just reading this for the first time, I didn't pay for mine. |
