nedu210:
For all this useless people that do not want to face their own problem, OJUKWU did not run away like your useless people made u to believe, he simply left, and he left 4 the love he had 4 his people. I once listened to effiong spoke about the war. The interviewer asked him, why ojukwu ran away at that stage of the war, but he said,    No he dint run away he left. U knw ppl say things for a reason best knwn to them. When pressure was on us to surrender, we sat down, discussed and came to conclusion that ojukwu had to leave for the sake of our ppl, ojukwu was ready to fight to death, but seeing the ppl in hardship he accepted to leave. We told him to leave because if he was to go and sign the surrender of our ppl, there will be a great percentage of him being a target 4 murder, and if that happen the war could have taken a different dimension, but i have small percent because i wasent the head of state, but i was dengerous but i had to do it 4 our ppl, it was wat our ppl agreed on.
Thanks for this, bro. Ikemba didnt chicken out!!

@ NRI PRIEST, I don't think Idemili is a dialect on its own because what you speak is what almost everyone along Njikoka and Anaocha areas speak.
You are very correct but I didnt mention those areas because I dont have have a thorogh understanding of their dialects. Idenmili,Onitsha,Njikoka,Oyi,Dunukofia,Ogbaru,Aguatta,Anaocha,Ayamelum and Anambra lga and some other lga I cant remenber now speak a very similar Igbo dialects; Nnewi,Ihiala,Ekwulobia,Awka and Orumba speak something very different from the group I mentioned earlier. Enuani Igbo in Delta also speak something very intelligible to the first group I mentioned with some difference.
RomanceRe: Is It Compulsory For A Married Woman To Take On Her Husband's Surname? by NRIPRIEST(m): 12:58pm On Dec 24, 2011
If you cant take my last name we probably never ever gonna get married and I will not accept any  SUBVERSIVE daughter in-law tHat will not my family name.
Chics that I hang with know the rule.
Think about it this way; if your wife keeps her name, what name will the kids take ? Well, I guess the fathers and now one family will have different names huh Not gonna happen in my household which I am the head.
Truth is that there are females that needs to be left alone; women that doesnt wanna be under any man. You cant eat your cake and have it back; hilary clinton, michel obama and many other inteligent women kept their husbands name and they love it.

There is an Igbo adage that says; Di bu ugwu nwanyi(husband is the pride of his wife). Taking your husbands name is part of showing him respect and being loyal to him, and if you as a woman doesnt have that orientation from your parents then I will advice you to go ahead and keep dating cause you will never make it in marriage.

You are very funny. When did christianity reach Ndokiland? Talkless of having a bible? huh

Isuama Bible is the first Bible in Igbo, though the 'isuama' used was a messed-up Pidgin Isuama spoken by Sierra-loenean Igbos who had lost touch with their motherland for long periods.
This your Isuama Igbo bible, was it written based on the dialects of the Isuamas who were residing in Nigeria at the time of the said translation?
Was this your Isuama Igbo bible written on the little knowledge of some few Isuamas who were sold into slavery and moved to the coast of siera-leon,who must have mixed their Igbo with other existing languages in the slave camp, hence, making that Igbo impossible for those in the hinterland to recognize nor read it ?
Again, was this your Isuama Igbo bible used in Igbo land, and if so,where and where was it used ?
Have you read the Isuama Igbo bible ?
How come the the Igbo I was taught to read the bible in,cathecism books in,hynm books in,all the catholic booklets in where mostly the same Igbo my parents spoke to me in(Idenmili/Onicha dialects). How come the Igbo bible which my late grand mother(Iyom Oyagulu) who died in 1991 at 83yrs  had wasnt written in the UNION IGBO nor the ISUAMA IGBO.  Note; the old bible has been in my house for over 40yrs before her death!! How come I never  come across this Isuama Igbo bible nor the Union Igbo version?

What difference does it make? Whether Idemilli, Ika, Onicha or Isuama does it really matter? As long as it's Igbo. O'boy, this household rivalry is getting boring.
Odumchi, firstly I am a die hard Igbo and it reeks from my pores, hence, I have no intention nor a reason to create division among my Igbo brothers, mana onye fu eziokwu nya kwue ya. I am sure if I come here and say Anambra/Enugu Igbo was the Igbo used in writting the Igbo dictionary somebody will quickly correct me.

Is Isu/Isuama a dialect of Igbo or a clan name? I heard the first Bible in Igboland was an Isuama Bible. How come no one mentioned it?
The first Igbo bible was written in Isuama Igbo ?? Where did you get that from and what does Isuama Igbo sound like huh
The other day somebody said it was Ndoni Igbo that was first used to write the bible !!! I will not say anything until I hear my brethren responses regarding TOSHMAN'S post.

Mister, I dont know if you are joking or not; I wil love for the federal government to create some more ethnic groups,so that clans like Ngwa,Ika and any other group who as much as little ever denied being Igbo can have their own ethnic group. In doing this we might have trimmed down ourselves and arrive at conclusion at who and who is Igbo. Even if its only Anambra,Imo,Enuani,Enugu,Ebonyi and parts of Abia that stood up boldly and called themselves Igbos I will be more than proud to know that we have ppl who we didnt have to tell what makes them Igbos. Ezi oyi ka ajo nwanne.

Christmas in my home town of Umuoji-Idenmili is a wonderous experience!!

In the morning of the 26th masqurade with canes(mmuo npia osisi) comes out in droves wipping ppl who doesnt wanna run, taking gifts of money from ppl. Wow, I wanna go home and see my fatherland once more!!
CultureRe: Culture And Igbo Business Practices! by NRIPRIEST(m): 10:56pm On Dec 20, 2011
A business needs an accomodating and vibrant market receptive to its offers. The two - business and market - become a dynamics that preserves success and buoyancy to exchange and relations.

I therefore want to say that Igbo business is successful because the markets in which such successes are readily evident were also instrumental and are therefore worthy of acknowledgment and recognition. This market relevance can be best evaluated by comparing against them against markets that closed itself and blocked the spread of the new enterprise, therefore resulting in slow growth for Igbos.

If your success is high in West and North, far higher than it is in East, then you also have Yorubas and Hausas to thank for partnering with you and creating the dynamics that gave you that outgrowth, but you need to review the conditions in your own homeland for why the dynamics are not working for you as greatly.
Cheap attention seeking OLODO! Who stopped you guys from trading and investing into other areas since you own the most vibrant market. Have you forgetten our ppl were enviously and brutally murdered by the Nigerian government and their British slave masters over the fact that we dont wanna be in one country with you lots
Instead of you to acknowledge that IGBOS pass man you dey here dey fight your inferiority complex!! You guys think you will just come and run us down and think we will be down forever, too bad. We are just getting started; I admonish every Igbo man and woman not to forget to tell their children the atrocities the British slave masters used the north and YORUBAS TO COMMIT ON THE IGBOS!!

Leave them alone because they will not be denying their Igboness if they are trully Igbos.

Yes, ohnuhnu officially means any and all things non-Ngwa.
Who says I can't? I could, but it's not going to be easy explaining to someone who has never heard it when it's spoken. Basically, you would never understand how I could or why I would write that. The only thing that would result from my explanation would be you turning around to try to explain to me how to write my own tongue. I'd know, because I've already gone through it before with your fellow ohnuhnu like 006, Udezue and Obiagu; this exact same 'gh' topic, in fact.
Think about it. Why would you write Idenmili in an Igbo thread? Hm?
Ole boy, i really dont wanna be hard on your poor soul! If you know that nobody can read your precious Ngwa dialet, why bother to write it here?
i write in Idenmili/Onicha axis Igbo  because its a common Igbo that  was originally used to write the first Igbo bible and church books and thats the Igbo I was first taught in right from Catholic block rosary evening prayers.  Most Igbos  here can read my writings in Igbo, except for odumchi who stated I was writing in ''pieces''.  But I can understand him because  most Anambra Igbo dialets are not very heavy. You need to calm your little nerves the Bleep down!
