I think we Igbos shuld modify our shrines by removing all the fetishes and inhuman items attached to it and modernizing it and making them a temple with a house where we worship "CHUKWU OKIKE“ Chei!! My mumm is gonna weep if she hear me say above things!! Lol |
Igbo people call head tie "ichafu isi", yorubas call it gele. And what is that outfit Fashola is wearing Ezeagu, thanks for posting that Fashola pics!! Let me see what will happen now !! |
Alh harem, have you been following this thread ?? You are not a man of integrity!! You are a liar, you are biased to the highest heavend and you are a compulsive tribalist!!! And please stop deceiving yourself by saying u are related to Igbos!! You are a very disgusting fool!!! U reeks of hate against the Igbos but if you continue like this you will never achieve anything in life!! YOU ARE A BLOODY STINKING AND UNREPENTANT IGBO HATING LIAR!!! |
Sorry, I think the hat the groom on the second pix is wearing is the only yoriba influence there. |
^ you are not serious. these look like America to u? Igbo chief wearing agbada ![]() www.nairaland.com/attachments/564817_obi_of_onisha_jpg7f6881ce6743b238073d68f43b0b0039 yoruba native attire https://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/41337000/jpg/_41337340_cup.jpg Would you please explain to my confused mind whats so yoruba about the attire ? Did yoruba invent agbada ?? Am sure they didnt,so, why did you keep calling it yorubas ??
|
Ezeagu, nwanne odikwa egwu !! Some guy here even said Igbos are the "MOST UNIMAGINATIVE" group in Nigeria !! Can you imagine somebody saying such about people who invented their own days of the week, invented 13 lunar months of the year and named them(just like the romans have jan to dec),invented their own writing pattern!! If such people are not imaginative I wonder whats else ![]() ![]() |
I dont know if they are existing beings but I know for sure that there is powers in them, and yes they did brought justice and peace to our society. Just like the way man fears God so does our forefathers feared these shrines. |
From the comments am reading here its sounded like someone is saying the Igbos didnt have weaving industry just like the other nigerian groups had in the 18th and 19th centuries!! How about the famous akwete cloth in Igbo land ?? |
ACN will end up becoming a yoruba party anyways. No matter what they can never topple PDP and una papa wey be Tunubmumu knows this. As for APGA the future is very bright,ACN might be bigger now but they cant do it alone. |
that ofala peacock hat looks awful @ikeledi, LMAO damn u got me rolling @ the previous page
This will be my last post on this thread. @poster,did you say the Ofala hat look awful ? Well, I will not argue witk you but will advice you to go back to that thread and study the comments posted by non Igbos and compare their reaction to what you have here. Sorry, I didnt make you guys Ijaw!! Yall have fun!! |
As for the Onitsha chief you posted his pics; He is an Igwe cabinet member and if you study that Ofala Onitsha thread you will notice there are few of them wearing that hat and its even different from the Kings own. Moreover, they dont wear it through out the occastion;they wear it only when coming in,greeting the crowd, dancing to the ufie music(egwu ndi eze) and during othet significant activities, so,my dear tis very organized and this has existed for over 6000 yrs!! However, whenever they are not wearing that hat during the Ofala you will spot them wearing the Nze na Ozo red hat, which Igbo ppl are famous for. And the cabinet members traditionally wear it underneat the kings cabinet hat(okpu ndi ichie). So,as you can see,not everybody wears that big hat with feathers, moreso;everything that you see on that Ofala hat signifies something,so,its not just about sticking feathers on your hat without stating why you doing it. . . In summary, wearing that Ofala hat simply means that the man has accomplished all the Nze na Ozo title(ochizugo) and also has gone ahead to become an Igwe cabinet (onye Ichie)representing his village at the royal house!! Ileke, you see what I meant when I said Igbo culture is very rich and authentic!!! |
Here we go again with Ileke claiming everything is yaruba! Ileke, can you please describe Igbo attire and kindly show me the difference it has with the yoruba attire!!!!! Since you have a massive idea of what is termed " Igbo attire". That material was not made by the yarubas neither was the style of sewing invented by the yarubas!! I know you wish to make your tribe appear original but you dont have to tell malicious lies to achieve that!! Senegalese,Tchad,Mali and some nothern and eastern African country has being using that style of sewing before ODUDUWA started thinking about was born, so;please stop already!! Thats not yoruba style not even million years close!! |
Ileke, I dont wanna call you a liar but you almost pass for one. There was an Igbo and Ijo kind of coalition thread, go through it and see for yourself!! There you will know aint no saint. As for you Ileke everybody on nl knows you hate Igbos to ur bone marrow! As for me bashing ppl, I never throw a punch first. So,relax lady. |
The funny thing is that you will be shocked if you see where this same chic who is posting this pics is bashing the CULTURALLY RICH IGBOS!! Tipia, do you think this whole exibition is attractive ?? Ileke, keep dreaming but you never gonna come close.lol By the way that lady is quite voluptious. Me likey volup. Lady.lol |
Ole girl, hate who ? What will make me to hate on Ijaw ppl ? When I peruse through these your pictures I get an idea of people who are trying so hard to create a culture that never existed and thats why you see them throwing anything onto their body just so they can look culturally savvy and not having the moderation to know when to cease!! I mean to ask if these ppl are nuts?? You wear so much stuff on your body and dont know when you start looking feminine. . . The issue is not the material but how it was sew and how much is suppose to be worn. MODIFICATION IS THE ANSWER!!! |
Sorry guys I aint trying to hate but I was sold on these so called Ijaw attire!! Its simply too GROSS to my liking!! They might as well get a bucket,,paint it red and wear it on their head as Ijaw attire! These things can give a child nightmares!! Seriously, you guys need to modify your attire. The beads are too much and the regalia their men were wearing are too bogus and too shiny. And did I just see some dudes tying scarf on their head ?And Chibuike Amaechi need to change his name to tekena perekuma or goodluck bekema cause he aint Igbo to me and I am awashed with shame that a grown ass man who bear Igbo names could dress like a masqurade in the name of attire!!! Nwa emee alu!! I am not at least impressed!! |
It all starts with looks,if a chic doesnt find you attractive hardly will she grant you an audience!! I have seen lots of these happen. They will keep falling until the guy get tired of bonking them and drop them for the next mugu and thats when the chic realizes he aint so pretty.lol |
Ijaw chic, do you now believe Ijaws are uncertain about their origin!! Look at the joke you are posting here in your effort to promote a culture that never existed!! Later now you will have the temerity to come open you mouth where the children of the great Igbo nation are having conversation!! pants get size. |
Freaking sugarcane plantation How about SLAVE COLONY Whenever I hear sugarcane plantation I get this ache in my stomach!!! The Hatians destroyed all the sugarcane plantation that was established by the french after they gallantly fought them(the french) and chased them out! Reason; they dont want trace of anything that will remind them of there ordeal in the hands of wicked and heartless white slave torturers! |
Alh harem, u are a complete hypocrite!! So, you rebuked some Igbos here for using yoruba groups to comparison in relation to Igbo groups set up but you are quick to point that just like Onicha folks had settled in Anambra lands there are Igbos that settled in lagos!! What a man of dignity !! For your info. Igbos did not settle in lagos but simply went there to work!! They worked their hands to the bones, bought lands from the Aworis and built their houses and businesses. I have never seen an Igbo man in lagos fighting over a land that he didnt buy with his hard earned money! Onicha people on the other settled in another mans land, got accepted cause they were our brothers but they went ahead and device a plot to steal lands that belong to their neighbor who accepted them after they were chased out by the Benins who knew they were Igbos and aint Benins. Even though the insecure lots considered Benin as their acenstral home. So, Alh harem describe the basis of ur comparisons to me ? |
Pazienza, nwannem abunum nwa okodu kpomkwem!! Ogidis are our next door neighbor and we are cool with them. You are correct about Obosi and Nkpor. At least Obosi gave them a good fight and they didnt grab much from them but Nkpor people were too relaxed thats why they lost lots of their lands to the Onitsha people. Nkpor used to have more land more than every other Idenmili town but today thats not the same, they relaxed and allowed Onicha people to steal their lands. Pazienza, kedu ebe ino ? ODUMCHI,i am very sorry, it wont happen again. |
Firstly, Abagworo I need you to explain or quote where in this thread I have disrespected or talked down on my fellow Igbos Who the f. .u. .c. .k are you refering to as real Igbos ? I never knew there is something like "real" and "unreal" IGBOS until you mentioned it here !!!Anambrarians has never forced anybody to align with them. We have never intimidated or belittle our brothers but some people have a way of feeling overshadowed, insecure or intimidated and we cant do anything about that. The average Anambra man wants to be wealthy and real fast too and there is nothing wrong in wanting a good life or wanting to be the best. Do not confuse our hardworking nature for feeling superior!! These are two different thing. I see emotional hatred and jealousy written all over your writings!!! You are a deceitful man and an instigator!! You think you are clever but u are a big FOOL!! I am sure you are now fulfilled since Alhaji Harem has joined you to set your own house on fire while his is been painted!!! I am sure u are very satisfied!! |
It was the Umuoji people that moved Nkpor people at their present location and Onitsha people settled very much later. Then when civilisation came and the white man interacted with Onicha people first and they discovered that land is money thats when they started claiming Nkpor and Obosi people lands and these are people that settled in Idenmili land in the 18th century.Though they are smart enough not to Bleep with Ogidi folks. |
And now they want Orinmili state after settling in our land and we didnt give them any trouble. Let me see how this Orinmili bull crap settles. |
Ezeagu, where are the Anioma people from? Why did Onicha people crossed the river and settled at Onitcha? Why didnt they stay with their brethren in Anioma whom according to you they have "closer link" with ? Ana ebu ana ebu ? They can always pack their loads and move back to Benin, where they come from and tell Benin king that Ezechima was a Benin prince, hence they should produce the next Oba!! Because Onicha people never claimed Anioma, instead they claimed they are from Benin. Bunch of losers!!! |
Abagworo,u need to man up and stop being a wimp! We Anambrarians has always being in support of Anioma state and myself has stoutly supported the idea. You know we have Anioma. People here and u want to turn them against their Anambra brothers because some Anambra people insulted ebonyians. Obiagu simply said that the reason why Anioma hasnt worked is because they were trying to make Onicha their capital!! Well, I dont know how true that is,but who in their right state of mind will make such proposals!!! I will always pull my support for Anioma state, I have zero problem with its creation and I see it happening soon!! My Anioma brother, remenber that u are of Nri stock and you all are blood brothers with Ndi Anambra and we will always stand by u. Do not listen to this idiotic, deluded Abagworo because his trying to plant the seed of division and hate amongst brothers!! As for Orinmili, Ogbaru people and Onitsha people are all our brothers and there is no need for such demarcation. I will give my support to Igboezuo state because Orinmili is not feasible. Abagworo, stop looking for trouble where there is non. Mind ur business!! |
Sun of God, thats very derogatory to someone who hasnt done anything to you. Not cool. |
Obiagu1, am glad somebody sees what I am seeing. Look at Onicha people wanting to suck in a saliva they just spat out with disgust!! They have figured that Onicha can never make it alone, hence their effort to drag Ogbaru people who they regard as "nwa onye Igbo". Onicha indigens has ZERO and I mean ZERO investment in Onicha metropolis!!! when I look at these fools I laugh in Biafran rage! Usu enwero onu! |
Asha80, do you notice something irregular about that report ? Is Igwe Achebe an Ohaneze authority ? Why would they refer to him as Ohaneze chieftain? Well, lets see how the things unfold. Again, lets see how Ohaneze handles this cause they arent the only people clamouring for state creation. Mark my words, that orinmili will never see the day light!!! |
Asha80, explain your doubt. Wait until you see how those people are discusing the greatness of Anambra! I know those people more than you can ever know. Upper iweka road was named after the great Obosi king IWEKA. That orinmili state is a freaking joke,go and mention it at ohanaeze Ndigbo. Onitsha people are settlers, hence ana Onicha aburo nke fa. Ogbaru people on the other side are decendants of Nri,but Onicha and Ogbaru people do have similar dialects and even Obosi and Onicha almost speak identical Igbo dialects. Most of these people brewing division in Anambra has not the slightest knowledge of these people. Do you know tha Oyi people of Anambra are OLU people? Its more complicated than you think!! Say what you know, guys. |
So, Abagworo in your warped mind you concluded that land disputes are basis to use and find our who is related to who ? U are a very poisnous human being but I dont wanna place curse on you! So,Onitsha people who call non-Onitsha Igbos "nwa onye Igbo" all of a sudden see an Ogbaru person as his brother Can you just listen to urself speak ? U sounded like someone who feed on human feces!!! Get outa here u disgusting son of a **ore. Stay away from whats not your business you atulu awusa. Among all the squabbles between Onitsha people and other Igbos they would still prefer to be part of the Great Anambra Igbos! Obu onye fusili ebe ana echi ozo jebe ebe ana alu agwu? |
Now I see where this drunkard Abagworo is heading with these unfounded malicious accusations against the so called northern Igbos. Orinmili state eekwa? Do you even know the origin of the Ogbaru people and co? What makes you think there is onenes between Nri children and some lost souls who claim they come from Benin? I see you want to split Anambra into pieces and maybe by doing that you wish to reduce their power, wealth and influence! In ur wildest f. .u. .c. .k. .i. .n. .g dream mister. Everytime, I hear people from some parts of Igboland making jest of Anambra boys who are into trading calling them "uneducated omata boys",but those boys pay no minc to them and keep raking their cheese, but when they become freaking rich same people who call them omata will turn around and call them "money ritualist" !! Abagworo,go find a small wooden chair, sit down on it and be quiet, mister!! |
