You may need to find another router that will serve your purpose. The initial aim is to not go to the router page all the time. As an SE, you should know the principle of DRY.

Get hardware and software tokens and use only email for notifications.

This is what I do for most of my traditional banks. I only get alerts through my emails. Besides, one can always check their bank apps and online portal if there is need to confirm transaction.

You'd need to sign indemnity form if you already opened an account with sms alert enabled and now want to disable it.
If not, you can always opt out of it at account opening. Just be sure to tell them.

I wished it has speed limit for ppl way connect to my router and time bases connection, I don blacklist almost 4 phones ..and I will still blacklist more .. any time I noticed a strange device I blacklist... The few ppl I gave my password are the one sharing it.. to other ppl without telling me ...

The day you posted about this, I advised you to use whitelist. That way you don't have to worry about checking who's using it, only those who you authorized can use it. It doesn't matter if someone is authenticated, if they are not authorized, they won't use your data.

I was able to buy a LAN Transformer IC with the same schematics from Aliexpress. MY ODU POE is now working perfectly.

Nice. Water entered one of my induction cookers and caused one of the ICs to rust and break its legs. The IC could not be found in the local market.

I bought it from China and replaced it. It's been working for more than 8 months.

No i don't work with Airtel i know someone working there though but he wasn't aware of most stuffs. It happens to me also there was a time i was asking someone about MTN 120GB i dropped my number i got DM on WhatsApp from a scammer i got curious and ask more question that way i got to know it wasn't the real person

Nairaland should enable direct messaging to avoid these impersonations.

Do you work with Airtel though? I am asking because I have seen you ask someone for their router number. Anyone here working with Airtel should help us fix some of these problems.

This is why when someone was asking me for WhatsApp number, I requested they quote me on a dead thread. Not that the scammers will get anything from me but I'd rather waste my precious time elsewhere. The surest way to know you're communicating with the same person is if the communication was through the person's nairaland email. My email here is not active so no communication through it. Apparently Tover had posted his number somewhere on this app.

You're not getting it. I gave him two methods. One is the filtering (it includes IP and MAC filtering) which I elaborated. I also told him to use whitelisting instead of blacklisting so that he's in control of 'allowed' devices at any point in time without the need to always find and block new ones.

The second one I didn't elaborate because that one is what I use in my ZTE MC801A. That one is to create a Guest WiFi and decide how many people can connect to it. Different SSID, password and other rules from the main SSID. In my case I disabled guest wifi users from accessing the router IP, just in case.

So I think ZLT M30 has feature to create numerous SSIDs. Someone suggested Nokia ODU has it as well. The current ZLT ODUs don't have it. What they have, including the acclaimed ZLT X25s, is filtering.

There's no way the ZLT will not have MAC filtering. I don't know if it has the the Guest WiFi feature though.

Of course it has filtering. That's the first option I gave him. It's less straightforward than the other method.

There is something happening about finance in government areas especially with this particular dispensation that I find amusing. Not because it's funny but because anywhere it happens and you want to voice it out, you will see some people thinking you are anti government and want you to keep quiet, sometimes even those affected ooo. Before this present day government, in the organisation where I worked salaries are paid 22-27th monthly. With exception to festive periods where it could be paid earlier depending on the date. It was once paid around 16th because of Salah back then.

Now with this government, in my agency salaries are paid mostly after 30th. Christmas could not even make them pay earlier. As if that's not enough then there is some kind of selective payment. This means that as January is now, some staff and bank will be selected and paid while other will be left complaining till maybe on the 20th or month end and the presently due salary will be released with that of last month. February others new sets of people will be selected and treated same way. We all do not collect salary at the same time anymore. Before all personnel collects their salaries in that salary week. Variations may only occur with day and time in that particular week because of difference in banks. When you complain to your organisation or bank, you would be referred to IPPIS and when you complain to IPPIS you will be referred to either your bank or your organisation. We were discussing in our organisation's WhatsApp group when a senior colleague private chatted that I am not supposed to say it is an APC thing that we should channel the blame to the head of my agency instead.

Sorry, I shouldn't do this by bringing this up here but I had to. Why, because I saw some complaints about non payment of matured bond proceeds as and when due on some pages back. In all the former administrations that I have invest in government debt, in fact even under Buhari, the only time I did not get matured proceed of my investment in either FG Bond, FG Savings Bond, Sukuk or TB on the day of maturity is either maybe the maturity date fell on a weekend or pub holiday. The worst that have ever happen to me if I don't see that day, is to wake up to it the next morning. But now, nobody send you. In fact sometimes if could take more than 5 days after maturity. My complaint full TB thread on several non payments as and when due. The last Sukuk that made the guys complain here was due on Monday 29th December 2025 and was later paid on Friday 2 January 2026. So it cuts across this time and that's why it seems to me like an APC system thing from where I am observing. The DMO is another agency entirely, this one sef deals with government borrowing and people's investment. Where Integrity should count most.

Why can't they try and be different. Me na worker, I no get party so I fit talk as e de pain me. There was a time failure to pay gained international notoriety. The stakeholders gave several excuses and later paid. That one was not the first nor the second, third..., but it somehow was the one they then came to talk about, apparently due to international news houses reporting it.

One would think it was going to be the end, but no month since that time have I ever received coupon payment on the due date. No one gives excuses, no explanations, nothing!

I have since stopped expecting them on the due dates.

Of course it has to be pinned on not just APC but to this administration from elected to appointed, with no exceptions.

You have to get your hands dirty and set up filtering. You should blacklist those ones or better still, use whitelist and list only the ones you want to continue using your Wi-Fi.

This is easy with my ZTE MC801A, which is IDU for my G5F. No one else connects to my home wifi - 2.4Ghz and 5GHz. I set up guest Wi-Fi which allows exactly only one device at any given time.

By the way, I'm always skeptical about subscribing the same Sim with active data. I feel they may decide not to credit the new one and I'd have to start calling customer care.

Unfortunately, that's what I actually do but do it one day before the current expiry date, and fortunately, no stories yet.

Subscribing when you still have active sub na waste of money because it's time based. Except for folks who use at least two subs/routers at the same time in different places.
