My Airtel setup stopped browsing since TUESDAY and til now it hasn’t been browsing. My unlimited subscription is due to expire on 30th of Jan. Has anyone here experienced this and what was the solution? I have called customer care line and it seems it’s beyond them.

Is MTN your alternate number? This could be a pattern developing.

Some nailand threads are almost dead, that is they are inactive. When you mention someone's name there, they can see it on their mentions and maybe send sensitive info like contacts there and delete when you got it.

The better way is through email since nairaland doesn't have inbox, but I don't have access to the email on my account.

Meanwhile, since you have 5G, you can check which band it is from device status when it's fast. Then when you get to band locking, unchecked the otter bands and leave that one, then save.

I have not locked 5G because I don't have it here but the process should be the same as 4G.

To do specific cell locking, you should click 'add' button which you will see when you check the cell locking box, then add the specific cell and band frequency.

The actual terms I used may not be exact since I'm not with the router here but you should get the point. You can also post the locking interface for better guidance.

Yeah, I have seen the settings for cell locking already but I don't know what to do with it. I have a 5G mast about 100 meters away from the ODU, though it is not directly facing it but the network is very strong off peak time, I even do get 80Mbps download during some speed test even though the sub is just 50Mbps.
I just wanna know how to go about the cell lock.

When I checked the sim section of X17U, I only saw a button to log out and since the owner hasn't done sim swap, I just heeded the warning the app gave and didn't log out. Maybe after logging out it will show the switch button?

I put my own physical sim in the ODU before testing.

I was using the odu in Lagos(worked flawlessly) but moved to akure.
I get around 30-40 mbps in the morning but from 8am
It becomes unusable(not up to 1mbps) and only band 8 & 3 are available here.
It's mounted on a pole with clear sight(no obstructions)

It's location problem, probably.

The customer care should be able to delink it, my was having issue of 2 numbers linked to my router I took it to airtel office they said they can’t do it , so the lady contacted someone at the head office and it was done for me in few minutes

Maybe it was the head office they should contact. But he stayed there for a while and left without solution.

That's correct. But the payment has to be via SmartCash.

I have one guy using this but I have not explored the cell locking with it. I'd assume it'd be similar to X17M, so you should check advanced settings from device options. Band locking should be good enough.

If you want cell locking you may need to check the root user interface.

My guy is having that problem. Till now it's not browsing and not unlinking. He's even taken it to their office and they couldn't fix it.

Why did you have to change it in your case?

Did the new location deliver stronger signal?

It was not about delivery in the first place. I waited so long to have the external Sim ODU because I'd be taking the sim with me most times I'd be moving. For them to now come and mount it atop external wall and tightened, making access to the sim stressful, tedious, borderline improbable for me, is inconceivable.

But that installer said his masters won't take it. He had to show them. He installed, snapped and sent them. Left.

I did what I had to do.

As for the location and performance, he didn't even employ the use of the install helper app. I did and got the best place in my room. Not the best place per se, because I found excellent signal on band 7 at the middle of the room where no object exists to hold the ODU. I had to settle with 'medium' signal but that's OK.

Cell 60 is a cell in your area, so he won't see that. It will be another cell no entirely. There are usually more than one cell in an area.

3500, that's band 8 in my area.

Perhaps he should try locking band 8 alone and see what he gets.

I wanted Huawei too but it's not straightforward to buy and send to someone. It was only available in Lagos. It may no longer be available. I didn't get. I still told my plugs in my area to alert me when they get it.

The other ODUs are not particularly bad. Most of the problems we are having come from Airtel themselves.

Guys , pls I need help.

I have been having network issues with the ODU for days now, my router doesn't connect to internet and if it does, it will show 3g if at auto connection mode and no network at all if on 4G/5G.

At times, if connected to 4G/5G, the upload would be very low.

Today, I changed direction of the ZLT ODU, problem persists then I disabled 5G band lock and select only band 7, 3 and 8 for 4G, while my network mode is set to only 4G only.

With this, the download speed is great, I often get the maximum speed 50mbps but the upload speed is terrible, always in kbs.

I urgently need help on how to improve the upload speed as I need it more for my works.

In my experience, I have once got the highest upload speed on cell 60 band 8. But that was when I was tinkering and needed to upload one video urgently, a large video.

Over time, band 7 has proven to be the most stable and fastest of all the bands. There is no harm in trying so you can try locking 60,3500 and see how it goes.

Meanwhile, what is the first band your cell uses as primary when all are active? Maybe that can give you a clue of which one has the better download speed which you should lock back to after uploading.
