True ..Ethiopia has a balanced relationship with both the west and East,to the extent they even operate Iranian made weapons.
If you ever wondered why Ethiopian Pm Abiy Ahmed is always tolerated by the west even after over-seeing a genocide in the Tigray, rumour has it that he is an American agent in the region.

Maybe not with Russia alone, but make an alignment that would make it difficult for the UN Security Council to unanimously pass a weapons embargo on you.... As for gay rights, you guys need to chill, it won't be the end of the world grin

Russia was the first one to post then Americans had to respond with a better letter.

This is the best time to pick sides... And the best option is to clearly show both of them that you pick no sides at all He should host a Russian delegation when he comes back from the US summit!

More;

P. S ; Expect a Kenyan version of DELTA very soon. 30TH Special Forces is currently the KDF's only Tier 1 unit modelled after the SAS. There has been an ever increasing upward trajectory in support to the KDF Rangers by the American government/military hence the creation of a Tier 1 unit mentored and modelled after American Green Berets & DELTA in the KDF. This is to ease the need for American boots on ground in the conflict prone Horn of Africa as per AFRICOM and CJTF-HOA's new mantra; TO WORK BY, WITH and THROUGH OUR AFRICAN PARTNERS!
There is this company within the 40th Ranger strike force that wears a different camo from the rest.( Ranger D company)
They receive some sort of foreign training and funding.

Keep crying

Desperate as usual making excuses for why Kenya earn less in tourism.

Various cruise ship at Tema Harbour
Interesting ..how many days are they spending in Ghana.. anyway Just yesterday two chattered flights full of tourists landed in Mombasa.

You're mad again why is your tourism sector not earning more than that of Ghana? Torist spend more money in Ghana at fancy restaurants and bars which are many here than Kenya.
They also spend more on events and accomodations than in Kenya..

Those are the outcomes we look for.
You mean tourist come to spend money in some restaurant and bars grin grin

My uncle was in the army, He'd seen some action in Sierra leone back in late 90's ... He told me real war is not like in the movies, that unless it was a planned mission where you are attacking an enemy in a known position, most of the time you don't even see the enemy, you just return fire from where the sound is coming especially in umbush type situation ...
Only when they stop firing back then you know they retreated or you killed most of them... And when you kill them you won't even know if it was your bullet...
True ..my guy tells me when the battle is done one is usually partially deaf you just hear ringing sounds in your ears.

We've been here before, a few times already... The M23 was hit by Tanzania and SA in 2013 and they vanished for almost a decade... This ceasefire is nothing but a plan for the M23 to live and fight again in the future - you shouldn't have fallen for it.
Seems like a never-ending cycle just hoping things will be different this time.

Foreign AffairsRe: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by NTSA: 11:32am On Dec 04, 2022
A little bit of history. In 2007 African Union hired Kenya railways then rift valley Railways RVR to move UPDF hardware from Kampala (Uganda) to Mombasa(Kenya) and then from Mombasa port, The cargo ship was to be escorted by Kenya Navy ships to keep off Somali pirates to mogadishu.

Though it was initially published in 2015, From page 171 Dr. Akali omeni :researcher with King's College London and the Defence Academy of the UK talks of Nigerian Army’s capstone COIN doctrine and multidomain operations as the Army’s operational concept but I didn't really take time to understand the whole write-up there are also other publication all over the internet if your take your time to research.

No offense, but no army's fighting doctrine is available for public consumption or available on the internet. That's a classified document.

Training, Doctrine and Policy are not for public consumption.
True to some extent ...The only reason am saying this is because recently I have been reading thesis publications from various defense institutions across the world and I happened to come across one publication by a Kenyan officer in one of the US war colleges researching on Kenyas doctrine and the doctrine development process.

The kdf uses the maneuver warfare concept (attrition through maneuver) as the main operational doctrine however it further categorizes doctrine into joint, operational, and tactical.
It argues that the highest and purest application of the maneuver approach is to pre-empt the enemy, that is, to disarm or neutralize the enemy before the actual fight rather than destroying the enemy by mass by attrition...but I cannot say that it is a distinctly Kenya Army doctrine.....we are still updating /developing our doctrine through the various operational experiences we are getting exposed to.
casing point is the capture of kismayu, where kdf sought to avoid alshabaabs strengths , i.e., where they had set their primary defenses while exploiting their weaknesses that is, attacking from 2 different fronts effectively disorienting their command and co-ordination thus capturing the city with little resistance mounted by Al-Shabaab.

This is a weird question.

How does someone know a country's army doctrine?

That's a policy document that sets how an army fights, how do you think that's going to be a public document?

See brief information on Nigerian army TRADOC.
