@Negro_Nt What I think Seun is doing is what Obasanjo also did (almost everyone he dealt with was Yoruba and so everyone else fell in line knowing he wouldn't hesitate if they misbehaved) and the sense in it has not just yet manifested. YET!!! By banning you and the others (seeing as you mainly come from Yoruba-land as he himself does), he has sent out a message - such will no longer be tolerated. Sadly, you are worsening the situation with the continued change of ID - later, your detractors will do same and feel justified because you too did so. Please! In the interest of peace, take this medicine like a man! It seems like a sacrifice you are being made to offer for the greater good! You could actually turn this around later by simply insisting he does same to other when you return! You are deeper than you currently (just today) seem |
The point is Yes, he's been appointed BUT to do what? Because his involvement is in the operations of the oil sector, the entire task force will end up "cleaning" the image of government while not having power to fight GOVERNMENT's own corruption. They'll just make some noise and end up discrediting themselves! WHAT POWERS DO THEY HAVE? CAN THEY INVESTIGATE THE GOVERNMENT SIDE OF OIL SECTOR CORRUPTION? DO THEY NOT REPORT TO DIEZANI MADUEKE? Tripe - not even well disguised as a Greek gift. Just a trap for Ribadu who, if he accepts this, would seem only interested in "big" positions where he's no more than hatchet man at the end of the day. In EFCC, he chased around 419 boys who gave Nigeria a bad name while selectively harassing very VERY few of the real DESTROYERS of Nigeria that Obasanjo disagreed with. In this case, he'll avoid the real corrupters and corruption that is destroying Nigeria and only chase loudly and publicly, a few people who likely stole maybe 2% of what went missing last year under the fuel subsidy saga and effectively cleanse the image of those who stole the other 98% by removing focus from them |
Look forward to that ![]() |
That'll be great - maybe we can meet up with a couple of others! A real star on this forum is also coming in soon plus our good friend (who you never agree with but who is a really good chap) is getting hitched. Would be nice we honored him at his "binding" ![]() |
Don't mind them - its always been cut & paste & selection! Means nothing to them since they will change it again tomorrow when the other position suits their argument! I am here sha - You know how to reach me anytime. |
Yeah, still chilling - only showed face cos you were here. Same old NL, Yaks people etc! One would think they'd had enough time to wake up ![]() |
^^^ Hey Bro: how you dey? been a pretty while - how's everyone? Meanwhile, this thing done dey show fruit O - so many eyes have been opened and its the last throes of a dying snake that we are watching |
Could you do me a favor and discuss each of your "contestants" as listed above? Which btw, would be exactly what I suggested a thread like this be for, since I'm not a politician and am therefore, not running for any office You never know - maybe you could educate others as well as myself and would be a better way to convince me to support an Iweala, who for now, could normally not get my vote. This would make more sense than saying "Igbo man IT MUST BE". |
^^ Excuse for what? And whist I would excise some names (on the basis of my understanding), your list is fairly okay! Plus what we are looking for is AN IDEAL SOCIETY, isn't it? Interestingly, I did not vote for either Abiola (abstained deliberately) & OBJ (voted against) and so I owe nobody a favor for what I didn't agree to: now you know! |
@PointB: Seems you don't understand what I am about. Whether from South East, MiddleBelt or from Ijaw Land AGAIN, I intend to vote for the best man as far as reason shows! If after that, the best is again from that same person's village, I intend to vote for him. In effect, I will vote for the best man I see everytime. I do not believe in rotation or placating people if it brings up irresponsible governance which is what those who seem to be against the current government are saying rather than that they hate the President! If we can calmly decide who the best candidate is, oblivious of the tribalism and religious bent that brought us to this current sorry state, we will move forward. However if we continue insisting on such tribal\religious considerations, we will continue to destroy the polity. AND all are suffering due to that |
Gbawe:Fair enough, especially since I didn't expect things would change easily or just because I want! However, and more to the issue, can we not keep talking about what makes up these desirable qualities? I find myself ashamed seeing we who ought be Nigeria's future making comments such as we see on this forum. Most comments are asinine and simply tell us the poster feels he has a right to post tripe and so (s)he does - one liners, snide remarks, daft tribal or religious postulations and such like. Bulls left loose in a china shop! Maybe repeated requests to many to "review" and make sense might change a few of us ![]() |
^ bro and sis, Please let's find people that can stand scrutiny and assess them. Can we do this in like a "let's look at so & so person" manner? We use that to educate ourselves and others plus compel our "targets" to wake up! I know NL is small and has limited reach but we only know the start is small - we don't know how large or powerful the end will be! Any ideas |
Used to abhore politics but if we keep looking, are we not tacitly leaving the field to the worst of society? Not interested in posts but abeg, let's form a party or group and bring reasoning people to power @Lasinoh: Who do u want to live with? |
I look ahead to a country that has an educated middle-class that understands the concept of integrity. Truth is relative but integrity absolute. Ojukwu was a Hero (to me though I am Yoruba) because his desire was for innocent people to be saved from the ignorance some Northerners used to imagine that the igbos killed their people in 1966! Awolowo was also a hero because he empowered his people educationally and developed the west more than others! The Sardauna was a good man but he was myopic in seeing only his people rather than the collective. Why can't we form an alliance? We are educated and so ought be detribalised, open and willing to stand together! Why can't we just decide that whoever is up there ONLY needs to do right and not have to be from my village? Whether Hausa, Otueke, Aba or Ijebu, if he does the right thing, what's my or your problem? Tribalism and religious differences today, are the mark of beasts who know the difference between cheetahs and lions while Humans (a different specie) are killing and threatening all! Its parallel with politicians watching all of us (whether yoruba or ibo or Christian or Muslim) die while they despoil the country! What tribe or religion is the Naira which is all that holds them together? Its time to start our own movement to make this country better Who is with me? |
God is definitely opening eyes. I bless His Name |
Honestly, I'd turn it back against them He has his ND militants and they seem obviously in contact with GEJ! I would arm them and get them to impersonate Boko Haram and bomb\take out two "heavy" AND heavily respected Emirs in a destructive and shocking SinParty of violence that would finally turn northerners against boko haram to the point that the north would destroy them without any government intervention. This would also give him so much leeway that picking up the Atikus (if anything has pointed to them) would be easy. It would alsoi allow him cleanse his government! But then, that is me and not the senseless thugs who just want cash in their accounts and who use their brains twice annually and have no balls |
Odunnu:Your own "maturity" would be appealing If I were a mental toddler like you! But since I am a reasoning adult, I'll tell you - your parents make decisions (which may atimes not sit well with you) based on love for you! Even dafties like you know that. Tell me then - how many Nigerians have the love of a president who watches them being massacred and refuses to even choose a security chief that will attempt to change things?? But then you already answered using the word "sickening" so you do know the truth - you just are another stubborn mule who aside wearing human skin, are more suited to the midst of donkeys |
Nothing stops the Hausa communities all over the country from staging peaceful protests. If they lead the way, others may follow. These people tacitly supported boko haram by not exposing who they are to the larger community yet now cry because their monster has grown up Anyway, who am I supposed to protest against? Boko Haram?? Or is it again the federal government which is not doing its work that I ought protest against? Seems we all here forget - Jonathan promised he would cater for our welfare & security! That's why he was voted in - so why should it be the masses who were not listened to, that should do his work for him NOW? Where is his transformation? Did we vote him in to enjoy Aso Rock or to look at his handsome face? In one breath, you accuse SNG of protesting and in the next, want them to protest? Why not turn this argument around - you said they were wrong to protest earlier! Well, they've agreed they are wrong NOW! We all know the average almagiri believes he has nothing to live for which is why he'll die willingly choosing a fantasy 72 virgins (since he can't even get any arse here). But why? Who failed him? Is it not the same govt? Is it not the same leaders that "sentenced" millions to pain, poverty and failure of existence? The argument is vacuous, lacks merit and doesn't show good understanding. All you need remember is that policies like "fuel subsidy removal" impoverished millions and ended up making many "boko haram"! Fact: way its going, more will join them because you've added more people to those who see nothing to live for! |
I wonder why "Odunnu" would see this as a sickening joke! Why? Is it not a decision made by the President who you insisted is the saviour and can do no wrong? Or has the president suddenly become fallible now? I almost wish he'd appoint the IGP to the post of NSA the day after he resigns! That would allow us geteven more of the best of Ringim! This is what al your braying for Buhari's blood and insistence on a Christian (?) southern president brought about. And he has just started - go read about how he has handed over the niger-delta maritime operation to MEND! |
^^ Found this thread quite funny seeing as on the thread quoted above, I stated the same and newmi supported Jo in saying it was the contrary! But now he saw it elsewhere, he brings it as a worthy argument? Wonderful! But its nice to know that at least, this is one truth he has become acquainted with. What would be nice now is to see Jo come and rubbish newmi because he cannot agree with my position. @image: could you read the referenced thread before judging newmi wrong? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-14267.224.html#msg7643929 |
Shuaibu was definitely wrong here! What a "Nigerian" ought have done is accept with fanfare to garner attention then insist publicly that the original bill goes through with none of the usual obfuscation and "dulling" of its expected transformational edges! As it is, he has achieved naught and forever has no stand from which he can "assess" whatever ends up coming through! |
I never saw a rich kid or "combo" of them using 2 cars at the same time! I never saw GEJ or his ministers using less than a convoy of cars at the same time. I never saw a rich kid get fuel free I never saw GEJ or SLS or others buy fuel! But we say its the rich kids benefiting! Wow!! |
Its easy to laugh (now) at what seems like a "win"! However, history tells us that even the Caesar's who discounted the fears & voices of their people ended up with a laundry list of problems! It beats me why a man who rode on popularity would decide not to care about his people. You offer economic arguments and place such higher than welfare considerations? When did government become about profit? 97 is better than I hoped for so I'm okay personally! But mark my words - the President has just built a disaster around himself and what is significant is that those he trusts now are his greatest enemies & will see him into the abyss. Truly sad also, that Beaf, who seems better informed than this, can laugh this off - now, the bastards financing boko haram & other such now will now have the type of support that can allow this escalate to heights unimaginable. Truly sad! |
@Nchara: The PRIMARY responsibility of government is the welfare and security of citizens. Economics comes after welfare. That is why government is not a profit seeking enterprise! On that singular point, all theories fall short! |
@efe22: Feed mornings about 8am. For the rest of the day, you can feed based on demand BUT once its 4.30PM, don't feed anymore. Oxygen levels reduce at night and ur fish therefore come to the surface to aid breathing. Overfull fish are susceptible to death from lack of oxygen and are at greater risk from predators because they are sluggish - this is why many farmers find dead fish in the mornings and don't find evenings. 4.30 allows them digest most of the food in their system before oxygen reduces and keeps them healthier |
One of my former staff studied something we did & resigned to go into it for himself! We found large poultry farms and asked for permission to "harvest" maggots from their waste "farms" or dumps. This simply meant water, a sieve and a seal-able container for the maggots. We could harvest 50kgs in an hour when it was hot and we used them to feed catfish. The dude that resigned NOW sells a kilo to me for 100naira and this is the best food you can give catfish. There have been days me and other friends bought over 150 kgs from him. He's 22, a student at Ibadan Poly "now", has bought a new motorcycle and is breadwinner for his family. Sure, chicken waste smells but I doubt his girlfriends at Poly mind that since he'll bathe when through. I think this is the type of thinking you younger people need to start utilising - opportunities abound! |
@efe: You are overfeeding if dirty & smelly inn 2 days.! Rather than just throw in feed and walk away, ensure your fish are hungry, feed in little quantities and observe if they are finishing before adding more food! Weather makes a lot of difference to fish appetite. They eat less when it is cold and when oxygen is depleted. Excess food increases nitrogen levels which added to their waste aids the smell. You may also have over-stocked. Most interestingly, fish are mainly "nibblers" who eat in bits in d wild so don't expect them to behave like someone sitting behind pounded yam - they do better with small constant quantities. Good luck |
The law is not selective in application Dude should go honor the court rulings he decided were not in his favor! Then we can talk about "rule of law" Else truly, he is descending into a bottomless hole from which there cannot be return |
@Beaf: I am NOT a GEJ hater! On the contrary! But I hate excuses and a lack of truth! Everyday, we hear why GEJ cannot rule - he has the cabals, the NASS, the ungrateful people of Nigeria etc! When the rain falls, it is to his disadvantage. When the sun is too hot, only him feels it! What manner of reasoning is that? The Bible says "a lazy man says there is a Lion in the streets" - na only him dey road? Or is it only his flesh that is sweet enough for lions? It also says "vultures gather where there is carrion" - go figure why both international and local vultures gather around GEJ. Nigeria voted (?) him in yet he prefers the praise of the USA which stated he was the "worst" candidate in the last election. We insulted them at that time on his behal fbut now he insults us on their behalf. I have nothing against him aside the innocent who have died under his watch because of his indecisiveness but even that can be forgotten if he wakes up and makes Nigerians his friends. IBB and co now know what GEJ is planning for his future - he should talk to them |
@beaf: you believe it but I do NOT! By the way, the reactions above prove what I said - such articles only make him look worse! I always despised people who have the devil (others) responsible for all their problems! Its reprehensible that as a man, you refuse to assume responsibility. Remember it was an ordinary man who put a plaque saying "The Buck Stops Here" on his table. He accepted responsibility and was ready to be held responsible for things under his watch! I don't wish to argue about the 1,100 buses but we've read these were ordered by another administration. If true, GEJ is a sad case. But let's leave that! All GEJ needs is to distance himself from "yes men" and bring his enemies to put their actions where their mouths are! I would bring el-rufai on-board and give him a free hand. Same with Femi falana! I can think of a few more but just these in "heavy" roles would help him. Make el-rufai petroleum minister and falana Justice and I wager things will change. SLS can take "finance" then bring back Ribadu for efcc But such suggestions make sense ONLY to people wanting to fight the corrupt system. PS: I deliberately included the above because I wonder what your reaction would be to such. I wait! |
@Beaf: 'lll tell you why this is asinine And NOT believable! Why is it that every intelligence report GEJ gets is able to let him know what is being planned but not enough to have him arrest the situation except thru daft, surreptitious moves which end up with his foot down his gut? I would like to defend him atimes but the daftness of some policies andexcusess given make me shudder. This fuel subsidy removal takes the cake! A laudable action has become villified and its proponent hated, despised and totally discredited. Who would you blame aside GEJ? In his defense, what we now hear is that same cabal again is the problem and true to type, rather than weild presidential power to fight THOSE people, he leaves them and again punishes Nigerians! But he could use that presidential power to ignore the NASS! He could use it to force aside the PCA! He could use it to cancel an agreement he sigbed within the PDP! So tell me why presidential power is used ONLY for selfish purposes but I am supposed to believe it becomes useless against this "cabal"? Plus one more thing - is that not Otedola we see following him always? Why does he keep the cabal at his right hand and NOI (world bank & IMF) at his left hand? Where is Nigeria in that SCHEME of reality when his enemies surround him and are the only ones he grants audience to? |
