Btw, 2 and 4 are practically the same thing 95% of the time. Concerning your previous examples, I would have preferred to be mute because of the fear of being seen as callous or insensitive! But I also know people closer to me than is comfortable, who have gone through such and worse. Some eventually found solutions whist others have not. What I know has brought me to the point where I return deep inside and remember - "shall the judge of the whole earth not do right"? Maybe you should answer that in light of curses, ancestral covenants, ignorance and many times, things we did earlier and have an "accouning" for! |
@wordtalk: His point was that denial is ALWAYS painful. Mine remains 2 things - (a). that it is NOT ALWAYS and that many times, there is a silver lining in the cloud. (b) even when its flat out painful, "TRUST" gotten from such relationship, ought help understanding that in His Sovereignty, God has reason. Which is why I gave examples like "the safety of others" etc. I guess my post should be clearer now cos it seems you took just the "better alternative" portion rather than the entire post. ![]() |
^^ sorry ![]() I said a true personal relationship would prompt individual to accept\understand and have peace that there is reason for denial! That DENIAL is thus (to that understanding believing Christian) based on God's Sovereignty rather than faith as I go on to say. "pres-elect" sees denial as painful and I only tried to show another "face" to it. So I honestly wonder what you are about since we more or less said practically the same thing. |
Pres_elect has in my estimation, given the best answer here though I disagree with his expansion of (2). IF the relationship is there (IF IF IF) between you & the Spirit of God, a prompting ought to be there giving assurance that there is a reason for "denial" - your safety, another's safety, a larger picture, a hiding (arrow in quiver) etc! Having assurance of a relationship, such prompting should push us to rather than ask for why, seek for "what else"? I remember someone, a masters degree holder in Linguistics, who kept dreaming of carpentry whenever he prayed for prosperity. Every attempt he made to get a job failed even when he was ready to teach! He ended up a multi-millionaire "designer" of furniture. He didn't have to use a hammer (which was his dsgust) but yes, carpentry was it! Anyone familiar with ibadan challenge area in the early 90s will know the Hi-Tech showrooms. This then is God's "NO" - something else (usually better) is in the offing. Sadly, man (a worm, according to scripture) has the tendency to think himself above his boots and so you hear daft stuff like its about your faith. Which is easily disproved - 5 of us want the same contract from government and ALL are Christians. But the one with the least faith is brother to the person handling the contract PLUS he also supplies the lowest quote, has a promise from God and has the most experience - Are you saying "faith" will over-ride competence, connection, best proposal AND God's promise? That's why it is called time and chance - there is a time for everything under the sun! |
I wonder why unemployed graduates are still waiting! All the signs point to prosperity, government patronage and even political clout & influence if you become a terrorist in this country! First the thugs of the ND are earning more than level 14 civil servants (who've put in over 15 years untainted service to Nigeria) just so they allow Aso Rock get drunk in peace. Now Boko Haram has a blank check - or after practically prostrating in the open, would they say their price for peace is say, 50 million per head & chairman Jonathan won't kowtow and give them? I mean, if discussions tarry, the only reminder the "gonads in boko haram" palms government needs is another bomb and OBJ will be back there screaming "we'll give you 100 mill EACH". Anyone who voted this travesty of goodsense into power ought have serious regret issues. And I personally expect boko haram sponsors to start off another group with sponsorship - a group of the educated but unemployed. At least, its now official the AGIPs will make it worth their while! |
Great thread! Where under the skies is Mad_Max? |
Can 771Billion disappear and the Presidency know nothing about it? And if they do, obviously, nothing will come from this probe except maybe another 100 Billion being used to quieten the legisators currently making noise! Except of course the idea is to indict GEJ for corruption and impeach him - which as we all know is not the PDP way! What they will rather do, is request their share of this pie! |
^ Defense Mechanisms - Apathy, Denial and delusions of Grandeur. All at the same time! |
^^ actually, he does rule and makes rules. I just pray and hope he does both these whist awake and that concerning this man, I find myself wrong |
Reports have it the "live" interview was pre-recorded THEN edited after the soft questions had been passed as "expo" and even vetted by Abati & co! Yet you guys are telling me that even inside the presidential bedroom, both occupants need bullet-proof jackets to avoid "death by mouth(automatic) fire"? Chei, my country don suffer! |
I honestly sincerely prayerfully hope the OP is a joke! Or could the stuff up there be true? |
Matthew 5:45 "For he makes his sun rise on the evil and the good, and he lets rain fall on the righteous and the unrighteous." The above can easily be expanded to include Atheists, Muslims, and those who never heard of God. Yet He is able to bless them. Interestingly, the opposite of bless would be "curse" - was Pharaoh a believer? How come God was able to "curse" (one side of the coin) him? The Ethiopian - did he know God? Was it not his good deeds and good spirit that made God choose him and bless (other side of the coin) him? These people go about making noise that they are "believers" when they can't see past the legalism in letters and see the big picture - which as I recall was why I voted for their gang leader here - undoubtedly the most religious pharisee on NL. And their fried head cult-leader who wrote the above? Obviously full of delusions of grandeur and with the greatest need to learn whist having the least desire to do so |
( ) / \ , '. . Ok Sir. |
I do get your point but 1. I wager this is one of them AGAIN with an alternate I'd. 2. Compare the Christian testimony about Jesus to the tripe this dude deduces as Christ's disabilities - shey Jesus is now a soccerball just so ol'Jeri Curls looks better? |
^^ Dullard! As a "professing" Christian, you claim that 1. Jesus is Lord (and God) 2. He created all things and nothing in existence came without Him 3. In "His" Name and with faith in "Him", all things are possible! But being the intellectually deficient genetic hatchery waste that you are, you then ALSO claim that 1. The Lord has things He cannot do (so God is no longer omnipotent) 2. The creator is restricted to the "faith" of you, a maggot that came from sand 3. Your swivel-hipped Jeri curled pavlov dog can do all things because he has faith but the God he has faith in CANNOT do those same things? You must be sniffing doodle fumes! Goat! |
^^ I totally agree - something drastic is wrong with most of them |
@AKS: To the bigots here -> truth is that Nigeria is NOT sane and most of the dolts abusing Buhari here are retards OR people benefiting from the rot in our society. This is a man who the government pays 2 BILLION as salary annualy (as a former Head of State) yet who lives simply as a farmer and philanthropist. Is it money he seeks? So why doesn't he accept to join GEJ's government? We all know that acceptance is good for at least 5 Billion! So why doesn't he? Or would you be hungry or discontent on a 2 Billion Naira salary? So what's your grouse? He wanted to become HOS? Is he not Nigerian? Is he not eligible? Can you compare his altruism and love for this country to the AGIPs you like to worship? Do we not have the record of history? Nigeria became better under him! Religious crisis were QUELLED even though they were initiated by Muslims like him! I remember the phrase attributed to him - "these people are killing MY people. Wipe them out". These people were Maitasine Muslims. "My people" were you and I, Christians, Nigerians. But here we are slandering him simply because we refuse to educate ourselves AND reason! I challenge you all - provide a link showing him supporting terrorism or evil against Christians! OR shut up! |
You'd be surprised what I know and why I became militant against these people! Yet all it takes to bring them down is "Christians" speaking into their lives. As far as I am concerned, "those who pervert justice and oppress the poor using the Name of Christ as a mask, will watch helplessly as their own avarice seeks them out and destroys them. They will NOT know where and when to stop and thus will give themselves away and receive the disgrace, pain, poverty they have inflicted on others. Such will never know peace or joy and will in their lifetime see their efforts frustrated" |
^ Their "cups" are filled and the cry of the oppressed does reach high, Zikky! You will see, THIS year, as God lives, many will be exposed and their fall will be great. Meanwhile, was it you or another who wrote me awhile back? Been unbelievably busy but please confirm as now is good |
But there are Donkeys right? And many too especially in the Arab world wherein you find identity as a fake wannabe! ![]() Btw, I know your Koran supports lying but stop the lies and ignorance - its indecent! |
^ Sorry - nuclearboy does not have a donkey as a brother! Imagine where we were coming from and where his lust-addled brains took it to. If I born im type, I go totally vex |
@Sweetnecta: Most already know you as a doofus so all you achieved above is to confirm the fact to new members. I'm not too surprised though since your pedigree sees love as "lust". Just avoid females less than 18 and remember they must give consent! Illiterate Barbarian Donkey |
@jamace: All well and good but the questions are numerous! Who appoints the Judges? Who confirms them? Who decided that Salami was becoming a cog in the wheel and "bounced" him? The will and direction ALWAYS comes from the "Head". Once that is diseased, hope is lost! Its sad because this is a man who time has positioned to have his name written in gold yet he too wishes to follow the path of infamy. To have the opportunity to advise this man frankly for just 1 week! But they prefer dolts who come with cunning hands and bloodied hearts |
This shows there exist honest impartial men in Nigeria. Many here will complain about the "old brigade" yet here stood one man from that generation who didn't wish to explain graft or crime to his children! 200 then 400 then 600 Million and his retort was that "angels wouldn't be asking him for Naira" I wonder how people like Katsina-Alu will feel reading this |
Seems 100 days is enough for serious honest people to start a transformation while 19 months since the last President died is not enough except to ask ministers what they plan to do from now to 2015 since the emperor has no plans aside sitting on the throne |
@Timijo: its obvious you bring a "Christian" mindset into these things! But it is ALSO unfortunate because you cannot find ONE true servant of God in the Bible who did what you are suggesting. Was it Moses who used positive confession or did he just tell the truth (which brought a sword, killings etc to save people from oppression)? Was it it God's assasin Elijah? Or was it Jesus that came asking people to pray for corrupt leadership or to have "positive confession" as a means of making things better? Truth is those you would wish to claim you follow did the exact opposite - they stood against the system because it was evil. Positive confession only works for the pastors who collect cash while telling you to smile and wait. Do AS THEY DO and take your future in your hands as people are doing here, rather than preaching to us! Best of all, answer the contentious 2 questions above so we know how positive you are |
To call this "Classic" would be an understatement - this was when I totally fell in love with Jo |
@Jenwitemi: Its not an Old Students Association or a club but rather a system of belief. Since God approaches each of us as an individual, each true followers conception and exact experience will differ - its "his" fingerprint! Those who wish for one united body forget the Christian allegory of Christ being Head and Christians members of the body. Would you have the toe share the existential experience of the kneecap or femur? It is those wishing for unity that have it wrong. |
A cursory analysis of most of these vapid posts shows a "its our turn" mindset! That's why the "Tu Quoque" concept above is so apt. Tribal warriors, religious bigots, intellectual dummies and badly educated children showing their "freedom" by venting misplaced passions. Most of these insulting General Buhari need help as they have been so well programmed that Pavlov's dog would mock them! Yet these have convinced themselves that General Buhari is the tribalistic and religious pundit! Sad where pdp has placed the next generation. |
Beaf is on his way to yab you for such "tripe"! Have you forgotten these preople don't want honest jobs but just to be parasitic? Better mind yourself and stop offering a honest means to progress. Its their oil (they put it in the organic waste a few million years back knowing nature would "cook" it into crude oil) so all they need after investing those millions of years back is to todfay, drink ogogoro and defile women |
So the US govt (indeed all foreign nations) can have access and even store our Biometrics but the Appeal Court rules that the same biometrics cannot be used by a petitioner in the election tribunal? Nobody outside these shores will take us serious as a nation |
Legalism unparalleled! The letter still kills and the Spirit remains alive And where the Spirit reigns, most here were saying almost the same thing though few knew it! |
