When pastor chris says we are not to obey the word but to Do the word thats what he always says, the word obey sounds like you are under being compelled to bc you are afraid of the outcome of not obeying not bc you enjoy obeying. Like i said i prefer using Do the word than obey . I perfectly understand pastor chris, i dont blame you if you misunderstand him cos the statement was not properly explained for everybody to comprehend. He didnt mean you should disobey God, it simply means be a doer of the word and enjoy practicing the word cos we are called to be doers of the word of God.

You know must times christians make a deal out of nothing, we are called obedient children in the bible, just that when the word obey is used must time people have this idea of the ten commandments, of course we are to obey God. But it is diff from having laws and commandments we have the law witten in our hearts today so we are to do the word of God today, but i think if i understand what another christian mean and he uses the word obey God i am okay with it but i prefer to use the word 'do"

What is all this confusion for sef? The article is a summary and there is no way everything can be explained in it for everybody to understand, but in my understanding, God has blessed us already in christ but we have our part to play in walking in the blessings. God has blessed us in christ Jesus but their are principles we follow to enjoy all the blessings, for instance, a christian can die young and even suffer even if he is already blessed if he refuses to honour his parents. The blessings are like gifts given to us but we still have to open the gift. The question is'how do i open a particular package'? Like enjoying a good health.

Nobody can say God is blessing him because he is sinless, If the REASON God is blessing you is beacause you are perfect 24/7 put your hands up? Then why are you blessed? The grace of God, period. That do not mean christians should live sinful lives delibrately but we should not boast cos its by grace we are blessed and not by our works of righteousness.

You know i am yet to figure out the purpose of this thread YES, the gospel is free if pastor incur cost to travel to my village nko does that change anything or are you saying i should pay for travel & accommodation cost I am beginning to see this as an attempt to justify the need for invoicing the potential beneficiaries of the gospel. I can imagine a visiting pastor (to my village) with the following comment. "my brother, you know i am giving out this message for free, but em, you see. . i had to em em borrow some money from my neighbour in addition to the little money i was having to come down here. I am not asking you to pay for this free message, but nna, i just need a little something from you to enable me return the money i borrowed and compensate me for my effort here"

I didnt say they shld refund the preacher his money, preachers make sacrifices all the time. I have personally treacked to a village to preach some years ago, we treaked for like three hours cos there was no means of modern day transportation. And we didnt charge anybody there, we paid our transport to a particular village before the treaking experience. So my point is the gospel is free but christians need to put in money to preach this free gospel bc we cant pay the television stations with the blood of Jesus.

If i see a preacher in my village i will partner with him, not bc he asked for it or i want to compensate him but i love to give to preachers of the gospel, where my legs cant reach let my money reach its my motto for evangelism.

When it comes to reaching the world for the gospel i dont think only reaching my neighbours but the world and i knw that will cost me money which i am ready to do bc where my heart is my treasure will be there also, afterall this world is not my home so i want to make all the impact. I dont want to regret when the master comes back. This is not the time to be thinking of doing only small small things, time is running out.

The gospel is free but preaching the gospel is costly. The white pple that came to Africa to preach the gospel did so free but they travelled down here, their welfare and other things were supported by pple that gave sacrificially. So even if you want to preach from village to village you still need money to do the work, like transportation, feeding etc.

It will even cost much more if you are to use modern day technology for evangelism, it will cost mega cash to do so. That do not mean pple shld pay to receieve the gospel but preachers and partners of the gospel need to put money into the gospel.

Most times pple make so much noise abt what the missionaries did when they came to Africa, that is good but such pple give #50 offering in church out of so much they have and expect things to just happen. How much do you put into the work? If everybody shld give #1000 can we even take the gospel to the next country? Everybody ought to give at the level in which God has blessed him, we shld all give our best. If God has blessed you in millions you shld not be giving #1000 if you really love God.

If the missionaries depended on offerings they will not build any school or hospital. Pple were giving in millions to do good works and preach the gospel freely. Someone will say but the offerings of churches are so much this days, anyway the cost of maintenance and running a church is not cheap too this days.

It got to do with the mindset i have, i live by faith and not by sensory perceptions like the bible admonishes us to do.Infact in Heb 11v6 said it is impossible to please God without faith. The question is what is faith? For me faith is saying yes and doing the word of God without staggering and wavering.

Now about your question, i said no more stress cos i see it as a test. The word stress is pregnant in my usage so dont know exactly what you mean. Whatever challenge i face in life, i dont see myself as a victim or in a disadvantaged position, why? God said in ALL these things(including stess) i am more than i conqueror, meaning i am not a victim. So for me life is stressfree and sweet bc my end is sure 'VICTORY'.

A sweet life do not mean challenge free, infact challenges are what make life sweet. Imagine going through sch without tests and examination, meaning no promotion. A challenge free life is a stagnant and uninteresting journey.

Whatever will come my way, i have programmed by mind for victory and success, BECAUSE i live by faith and not by what i see and feel.

So growing in faith as a christian is subduing nations and winning every battle and unfavourable condition to favourable, if there is any challenge that refuse to bow down, live your life like it does not exist it will turn out right at the right time. Faith is staying ontop of the game no matter what.

@frosbel, If God is against prosperity and health according to you why is God folding his hand allowing the pastors that preach prosperity take over the stage and the ones that claim to have the true gospel only have a voice in oshofree places? I personally think someone that is qualified to talk against prosperity are the poor. How can someone be enjoying and be preaching the others suffer that is like witchcraft to me. If you combined living right and prospering why not preach that rather preaching against what you enjoy. And i have not seen any pastor that tell his followers to sin and just focus on prosperity.

Great thread. We are to reconcile men to God regularly. We need to preach the gospel with all the ability of God in us cos he is counting on us.

god is faithful.

He is forever faithful to his people.

It is always inspiring to read about MOG, the passion, sacrifice and love for the master is always encouraging. If they can do it, i can also do it. Bishop continue the good work, you are an example to follow indeed. When i read articles like this i seat down and think about my commitment to the master's work.
