Hmm! In my school ATBU Bauchi. When u finished ur first year with a total carry over of more than 12units.., u r repeating 100level. Then @ 300level if ur CGP is very poor dt's close to (1 points down)u will be aske to change course and start 100Level afresh. At first semester of ur 4th year (400level) u are having both carry over and oustanding courses with a total of more than 12units then u won't be allowed to go for I.T...,u will be ask to stay behind and clear them before releasing u for next session's I.T. Though repeating 100level and forcing u to change course @ 300l when u have poor cgp is only applicable @ faculty of engineering. While missing of I.T is applicable in all the faculties. So discuss it with ur HOD. |
Aedesmuskeeto:with ur current cgp i don't see any reason why u should to repeat. U have a good cgp..., just work it up to 3points. |
Hmm! |

China Rising: Xiaomi Becomes World's Third Biggest Smartphone Manufacturer Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has leapfrogged Lenovo and LG to become the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world behind Samsung and Apple. Xiaomi is commonly described as “China’s Apple” and founder Lei Jun as “the Chinese Steve Jobs”, yet the company is only four years old and did not release its own smartphone until 2011. Research firms IDC and Strategy analytics both now place Xiaomi in overall third place for smartphone shipments in the third quarter of 2014, more than tripling shipments year-on-year overtaking South Korea’s LG by between 0.4m and 1.2m smartphones. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja yesterday ordered the 37 members of the House of Representatives who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress to vacate their seats. It also gave an order of perpetual injunction restraining them from altering the current leadership composition of the House. Delivering judgment in the case, Justice Adeniyi Ademola held that the decamped lawmakers no longer had any business, morally and legally, to stay in the House. He said they should honourably resign from their seats as Reps members, having moved to another political party when their tenure had not yet expired. Justice Ademola said: “Having perused the arguments of counsel and the constitutional provisions, it is clear and unambiguous that the defendants were sponsored by the PDP and won the election on its platform. “It is also the court’s opinion that their tenure has not expired and there is no division in the PDP.” He added: “The defendants are, therefore, not competent to vote or contribute to any proceedings in the House of Representatives. “An order of perpetual injunction is hereby ordered, restraining them from altering or attempting to change the leadership of the House of Representatives.” You would recall that the PDP had, on January 7, 2014, instituted a suit seeking to restrain the House of Representatives from altering the composition of its leadership. The party had commenced the action following the decamping of the 37 lawmakers who won election on its platform to the opposition APC. The PDP’s counsel, Mr Yunus Usman (SAN), had, while arguing his originating summons, faulted the cross-carpeting of the lawmakers, saying they did so during the dependency of a judgment. He argued that by virtue of the October 2013 judgment of Justice Evoh Chukwu, which said there was no division in the PDP, the matter had been laid to rest. Counsel to the defendants, Mr Mahmud Magaji (SAN), had, in his submission, argued that it was wrong for the PDP to have sought to restrain its former members from House activities for defecting. Reacting to the judgement, however, the APC Caucus in the House of Representatives said it would challenge the ruling of the court. The APC leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, in a statement titled “Court Turned Law on its Head, APC to Appeal Judgment,” described the ruling as “a strange judgment that turned law on its head.” Gbajabiamila argued that the judgment was a product of error of court that the APC lawmakers would be willing to appeal at a higher court. He said: “The judgement is strange and will be appealed. No person can be compelled by law to stay in an association against his or her wishes.” The APC leader argued that the judgment was an affront to right of association of the lawmakers. He said: “It negates a fundamental right of association of every citizen that is inalienable. Section 68 of the Constitution has been turned on its head and the error of the court is manifest.” source:scannewsnigeria.com/breaking-news/down-memory-lane-court-sacks-37-pdp-to-apc-defecting-reps/ |
Dmanlex:Oga! I never mentioned in my post that I know nothing about his IN-LAWship with Gov. Amechi. My point was that the news is fake.., Their meeting has nothing to do with Gov. Amechi. The man in question is trying his best to get APGA ticket. Besides Amechi is politically dead, no meaningful politician with future ambition will associate himself/herself with him. |
nts Feed Premium Times Nigeria Feed Premium Times Nigeria Jonathan plotting to reconvene House after withdrawing Tambuwal’s security detail APC Comments Feed Feeds Feeds The All Progressives Congress has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to show better understanding of democracy by immediately restoring the police security details the Inspector General of Police unlawfully withdrew from the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal. In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, the party described the announcement of the withdrawal of the Speaker’s security details by the Inspector General of Police as a usurpation of the role of the judiciary by the Inspector General of Police especially bearing in mind that the question of the interpretation of Section 68(1)(g) of the Constitution on which the Inspector General of Police anchored his illegal act is currently before the courts for resolution. The party said for the avoidance of doubt, the position, including the manner a person becomes the Speaker of the House of Representatives is to be found in the Constitution, and no constitutional provision or legislation says membership of the ruling or dominant party in the House is a pre- requisite. “Furthermore, as the number four citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the security detail and apparatus attached to the person of the Speaker is not based on his lineage, person and or political leaning. It is on account of the position and the protection required for that position and in Nigeria’s best interest. “This unfortunate use and deployment of Nigeria’s security forces in a partisan and political way portends danger and further weakens important institutions of governance and jeopardizes national security. Under President Jonathan, we now have a Police Force that is monitoring and making conclusions with respect to party membership, qualification, of an otherwise elected official. This is unheard of in any decent democracy. “It is unfortunate that President Jonathan who had been a successive long term and unique beneficiary of our democracy and Constitution is now demonstrating the greatest disregard for the laws that govern and guide us as a people. President Jonathan who is the only individual who benefited from the same Constitution to become a Governor from a Deputy Governor without an election and from a Vice President to President in similar legal circumstances now desecrates the same Constitution. “The All Progressives Congress rejects this challenge to democracy and modern society. We reject President Jonathan’s illegality and call for respect and compliance with the law. We reject this meddling in the affairs of the Legislature especially given the resolution of President Jonathan and his close advisers yesterday at their meeting to ask the Deputy Speaker Emeka Ihedioha to unlawfully reconvene the House before the adjourned date. May we remind President Goodluck Jonathan that under the House Rules, only a resolution by all principal officers of the House and not even the Speaker of the House can reconvene the House before the adjourned date not to talk of the Deputy Speaker. Regrettably, the priority of President Goodluck Jonathan on the night that Mubi, a town with a population of about two million people in Adamawa state, fell to the Boko Haram insurgents was how to illegally remove the Aminu Tambuwal as the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Hmmm! People and fake information..., Wow!. The man they called Amechi's inlaw ( Dozie Nwankwo) is from my town in Anambra, he contested for House of Representative under the APC but lost to APGA then. Recently he joined APGA hoping to use their ticket to re-contest. So people seeing him with Gov. Obiano is just usual struggle to get APGA ticket. It has nothing to do with Gov. Amechi and President GEJ. |
