Career › Re: 3 Things To Consider Before You Change Your Career by Nutella69(m): 7:38am On Nov 28, 2018 |
gideonjeta: Do you feel dissatisfied with your current job and feel like switching to another career path? Well, there is nothing wrong with changing your career if you have a genuine reason for it. However, before you switch to a new career path, it is important you assess your current situation, weigh your career options and go for the one you are certain would give you more job satisfaction and better pay. Here are three things you should consider before changing your career.
1. Skills Your skill is what makes you relevant in any career you choose and that is why it is the first thing you should consider before switching to a different career. You need to know the minimum skill sets the new career requires of you. You also need to know if your current skills are transferable to the new career. If they are, fine, if they are not, you've got to learn. For instance, if you wish to change from accounting to digital marketing, it is important you first gain digital marketing knowledge and skills. You can prepare yourself for the career change by attending digital marketing seminars or workshops. You can also register for online courses to equip yourself with the basic knowledge of the profession.
2. Ability to acquire the required skill While you learn about the needed skills for the new career path, you also have to consider your ability to acquire the skills. For instance, if you're not tech savvy and the career path you're switching to is tech-based, you might struggle to develop an interest in that career. Again, if the new career requires you to have an expensive certification, it might down your interest if you don't have money to get the certificate. This is why it's important you weigh your options before choosing a new career path.
3. Alternative career options Lastly, after considering the skills you'll need and realize your inability to acquire them, the next step is to make a list of alternative career options you can easily get. This could be similar career paths that can serve as substitutes or totally different paths that you think match your skills. Above all, changing a career shouldn't be all about changing a work environment. You need to be sure the job you're switching to gives you more happiness and rest of mind than the current one. You also need to find out everything you need to know about the career path and be sure it has better prospects.

Politics › Vote Buying Created By Poverty. by Nutella69(op): 1:51pm On Sep 25, 2018 |
There's been recent talks and arguments about vote buying ie.....a situation in which eligible voters are paid/given/induced some amount of money or service in other to make them cast their vote/s for a particular political party or candidate/aspirant.
In economics, where there is demand, there will definitely be supply. Politicians who are elected or appointed into positions should try as much as possible to eradicate poverty. Salaries should be paid as at when due and also pensioners should receive the monthly stipends to keep body and soul together.
When all these above are met, vote buying should be a thing of the past. But when these people are owed,a demand usually during election period is created, therefore selling is inevitable which gives rise to vote buying.
Let governments be serious with poverty reduction and eradication, it is a prerogative to curing the sickness known as vote buying. |

okwabayi: What exciting barber shop do you visit? The ones I know of only have people who come to cut their hair, charge their phones or rub powder/ brush their hair and continue with their lives immediately. Another set of people I know are those who come to pay their debt from cutting hair on credit a few days or a week before. This is also true |

Fashion › People To Meet At Typical Naija Barbing Salon by Nutella69(op): 4:14pm On Sep 08, 2018 |
It's Saturday and our hairs are bushy, it that favourite day to visit the saloon and have a haircut so as to look nice to attend that social function eg weddings, party, conferences etc
You just take a stroll down the street to see if your favourite barber is free so as to do his normal business and you find out that he's busy and you probably have to wait for your turn before you get attended to, these are the characters you are sure to see in a typical Naija barbing salon down town the street
• Those who are there to mock their friends who were forcefully sent to get their hair cut. • Those who keep changing the TV station to suit them • Those who come to rub the powder of the barber and brush or comb their hair. • Those who come to watch football and and block seats for customers of the barber, on citing customers he asks them to stand. Those who come to charge phones/gadgets whenever barber's gen/light is on. Those who come with bad intentions either to steal, cause trouble, quarrel etc

Sports › Viewing Center Safety As 2018/19 Season In Progress by Nutella69(op): 1:53pm On Sep 08, 2018 |
The sports season is here especially football as we usually patronise viewing Centre's, please let's ensure our safety as we go to these venues to watch sports and be safe for our family and friends too.
They say football especially is Sweeter when watching in a viewing centre, this may be right but avoid unnecessary quarrels as a result of arguments that can cause breakdown of public peace, make you no go enter police case.
Avoid side betting ie "going side if any bad mouth dey" as this can lead to fights or disagreement. Avoid being under the influence of alcohol or any other substances as this is hazardous to health and well being of others if done in public domains.
Please feel free to add yours nairalanders |
