Gjrich:Put sentiments aside, the guy you quoted is right. In most countries and E.Guinea included, sleeping with people’s wives with their full consent is not a crime. However, it’s a big moral decay to do so. A very big one! Equatorial Guinea is not charging him for sleeping with people’s wives. They are charging him for doing so in a government space; his office. |
Usmanovic95:Go and read “From third world to first: Singapore story” You will see that something is actually wrong somewhere in Africa. |
I don’t think I’ve ever criticized Tinubu’s government. But comparing him to Lee kuan yew is a joke taken too far. I wish it’s true but since it’s not. Please stop the joke now! LKY in his 35 years of service to Singapore could only be accused of awarding himself a 3 bedroom flat in one of the government subsidized apartments. After investigation, it was found to be a lie. LKY said African leaders would travel in private jets and Cadillac to UN and commonwealth meetings to beg for loan. While he travels in commercial even when his country was already rich enough to afford a private jet. He went ahead to make Singapore airline among top 3 for decades. LKY said when he sent a fact finding delegation to Africa to learn about how to develop a country, they came back disappointed. He never concerned himself with anything Africa again. He said with the way African leaders were leading, that Africa will never develop in the next 50 years. It’s about 60 years ago he made that statement. Was he right? LKY stopped open cattle rearing in 4 months. They had a worse case in Singapore. LKY made sure he distributed resources and political positions evenly among the the major races in the country even when the Chinese were over 70% of the population. LKY never spared his immediate family or friends when they broke the law. LKY did not promote religious or racial bigotry while he was the president. He brought down discrimination to the barest minimum. Etc. No more jokes please. |
codemaniacs:Thre are exceptional cases. Besides, they are Europeans of which I believe as at that time does not even require a visa to enter uk. |
Hanli:See me see wahala o. I never see this kind entitlement mentality before o. |
ayenika1:Nobody mentioned intelligence here. English proficiency is the topic here. And nobody is selling himself short. The only people doing so are those who are insisting other countries have to change their rules in order to accommodate them. That’s a bigger inferiority complex. Stay back home and develop your place. Not by force to travel. |
musicwriter:Keep quiet abeg! Always shouting racism does not make you superior either. Once a people make rules for themselves and their visitors, it’s termed racism by some Nigerians. When you go to another man’s land and they tell you what you must do to live freely with them, you shout racism. Na Waoh! Imagine Nigerians talking about racism by white against blacks. Two very distinct body colors and features. But these same group of Nigerians are very okay discriminating against their fellow blacks in the name of tribe. Which is worse? Abegi. Nigeria has the right to deny any American or European who doesn’t know how to speak Igbo or Fulfude. Same goes for the Asians if they are tired of the Americans. No be by force sir. |
Psoul:No issues sir. I support the move. I didn’t exclude myself. |
Not holding brief for her, but I can bet the truck driver may have over stepped. |
Gerrard59:I think we are saying the same thing. Though a tourist visa may not require that. However, it’s their life and rule. |
franchasng:True. But… 1. Most Nigerians have very poor command of written spoken and written English even after school. Our English proficiency was top notch in the 60s, 70s and 80s even with little education then. And these guys almost never denied anyone visa because English proficiency. 2. Commonwealth union is no longer as together as before. Many people are on their own now. |
Golan007:They actually do ask them. I taught many Chinese intending tourists before their appointment with the high commission. Everything is not racism. |
Golan007:Oh, it’s now about race? You should have said so from get go instead of beating around the bush. I can never take people like you serious. Because you are not only ignorant but delusional. An ethnic bigoted Nigerian telling me how racist Trump is forgetting how tribalistic his own people are here. See the massive pride in you. You shut someone down just because he supports Trump. Go and do more of that to your village people you feed. Not in a public fora like this. |
Golan007:Go and check well. Every Chinese that migrated to uk legally in the past 15 years passed TOEFL very well. And so therefore, can write and speak passable English language. Why is everything seen as discrimination here? |
Golan007:You know my likes? What about that? I don’t give a hoot about whoever wins the USA election. I’m just trying to point out the hypocrisy in your statement. No need to blackmail Trump Nigerian supporters by telling them not to air their opinions because they’ve not left their hamlet in Nigeria as if those who support Kamala has also left their hamlet to win the right to support her. Just state why you don’t want Trump and move on. No need for blackmail here. Sir, no need to sound politically correct here. Haitians eat cats. Aside from the obvious poverty among Haitians in and outside Haiti, the culture of eating cats has always been there. Haitians come mostly from sub Saharan Africa of which some people around there won’t waste time to eat cats should heavy needs arise. It’s just so funny how Nigerians are quick to point fingers when they do worse when in same situation. A lot of unspeakable crimes and misdemeanors were alleged to have committed by some of the past presidential candidates in Nigeria, yet most Nigerians voted en mass for these guys and stood by it. But same people who have no visible stake in USA election will say because Trump said Haitians ate cats, he shouldn’t be elected. Very funny and careless statement from Nigerians. |
Golan007:Sir, please relax. There are both dangers to having either Kamala or Trump as president. The calculation should be who will fare better and to whose interest. Going further, Trump to some people is the the devil they know as against Kamala; the angel they don’t know. He has been there before and heavens didn’t fall. No need to insult people over the choice of Trump. It makes it look like the people who support Kamala has also left their hamlet in Nigeria. |
If not for anything, I like Reno and Asari for using every opportunity to taunt the Igbos. How can some Igbos be too emotional to give prominence and attention to someone like Reno? A childish psychopath who lies and causes chaos for a living? Someone who has no history is telling you whose history maybe be better than his that you have no history and most Igbos are riled up already. As if other tribes in Africa were not wearing leaves and animal skins before the so called history. If you don’t stop giving relevance to people like Reno and Asari, una go learn the hard way. Nonsense! |
NetbizBoss:Na money laundering make am blow. Which kind nack them go nack person come give am millions or billions? Haba! However, seems you must belong to a godfather to have such connection. @topic New trend is If you wan damage person name, just tag him gay on social media. |
musicwriter:This is unbelievable! But please point one even in Europe aside from Luxembourg which is the richest country by gdp-ppp per capita. Please don’t mention any African country or city because this our discussion will now become a joke. Now a more juicy challenge to you, Just name one city in the world that’s as quarter as rich as Singapore. For the records, Singapore is the the 4th largest economy by gdp-ppp. Switzerland is 7th. USA is 9th. Japan is 36. Kuwait that’s smaller by half, speak one indigenous language and with all her oil is 39th. Argentina and Mexico speak only one indigenous language in their respective countries yet they are 74th and 75th respectively. Pakistan speak their indigenous Arabic yet they are 141st. I wonder why anyone will think that use or lack of use of indigenous language hampers development. Singapore has many races which even made their case very difficult. The Chinese, the Tamil and the Malay and other minorities. Different colors and shades of people. They made English their unified language and language of instruction. Even most of their Chinese population can’t even speak Chinese. They came through with frugality, Fiscal discipline, diverse industries, and a skilled workforce. All these were achieved through justice of which some people can refer to as merit. Language has nothing to do with it. For a very long time in the 80s, 90s and 2000s, Singapore was the second highest producer of refined fuel….second to USA. Yet they never had a single drop of crude oil in their soil. They only had to soft pedal because they have gone past basic tech and has moved to Hitech. Please let’s not discuss about Singapore. Make your comparison with other countries. Deng xanping pioneered the economic development in China, yet most of his policies were copied from Lee Kuan Yew’s Singapore. |
musicwriter:You clearly do not know anything about Lee Kuan Yew’s Singapore or Hong Kong. Go and read the history of Singapore and how they laid their foundation for development. Singaporeans laborers? What’s wrong with that? Who’s suppose to do the labor for them? Africans or Indians like they have it in the gulf? Which country doesn’t have their citizens as labours? USA, Europeans, the same developed China whose over 90% are also laborers in USA and European owned factories in China? The Singaporeans do it themselves and they are well paid for it. Besides, the labor in Singapore is far different from the one black South Africans do. One is very skilled labor which is at per with any OECD country in the world? The other is not skilled and wage is very low. The comparison is off. Over 95% of Singaporeans own their own houses. Over 95% literacy. Free education for all. Free and adequate healthcare system. How do you even define people who are developed or average? Singapore is a small country. What an off point excuse every now and then. Why can’t your states who even use Hausa language develop a bit? Is banana island an LGA or a state? It’s a private estate just like many estates around the country. As for foreign investors owning “everything” in Singapore. Tell me which country chases away investors? None that I know. Investors only avoid some countries that doesn’t have a conducive environment for business. I mean, why do our leaders spend so much to attract these foreign investment you are tagging a taboo now? Look, i intentionally used Singapore because it has a diverse ethnicity and race. Worse than that of Nigeria. But they came through with a borrowed language and an equal and effective justice system. Language has little or nothing to do with development if there’s no equal and efficient justice system. INJUSTICE is the only thing holding Nigeria back. |
ITbomb:Not holding brief for these guys but let’s say the truth when it’s needed. 1. The meeting was held in Enugu. 2. When Ebonyi governor is spending 1.9b to travel in one year, Mbah is spending 28m. He has been termed the most prudent governor in this republic so far. |
musicwriter:Indigenous language is mainly for historical or preservative purposes. Nothing more. Any language you plan to use for your development is ok so far you learn it well. Singapore and Hong Kong are typical examples of countries that used English as language of instruction to develop their countries. |
ShogunNoName:With people like you, Nigeria is irredeemable. See dirty pride in glorification of cultism that has never benefited anyone. Write it down in your diary. You are coursed today! The only redemption is the day you come to this same thread to apologize to Nigeria and Nigerians. No jokes. |
tishbite42:They are not the same enemies sir. Saudi and Egypt would rather support Israel to fight Iran sponsored Hamas, Houthi and hezbollar. Saudi knows that if Israel falls, the Saudi kingdom is gone. Israel is a buffer zone for them. Isis has even pledged support for Israel against these guys. What does it tell you? Deep down, it’s a Sunni vs Shia fight. Saudi is Sunni. Iran is Shia. Even Saudi no dey take eye see Qatar because of its ally with Iran. Even in Nigeria here, the Shia adherents are endangered people. |
Stories has it that he was shot at the hip during the Biafran war. Old age seem to have escalated the dislocation and therefore made him incapable of moving freely on his own. In places where things work, he would be in prison by now for allegedly pioneering massive corruption in government. On a human and personal note, I wish him the quickest recovery. |
Christ4ever:Nothing will come out of VDM vs Falan case. VDM didn’t defame him. He just played voicenote and gave his opinion with so much “allegedly” attached to each sentence he made. Falana on the the other side hasn’t committed any crime by charging a client to appeal his case. The only thing that will resurface here is the initial money laundering charges that was omitted due to bribery. And of cause paying bribes to avoid cell rooms. If true, lots of people will loose their jobs and he may actually be sent back to prison for bribery. |
Zonefree:At least not immediately until the full investigation is concluded. If you arrest him now and it happens to be that he actually spent the whole time in prison, he can sue the Police or Fg and demand for a huge sum for wrongful arrest, wrongful imprisonment and defamation. |
JASONjnr:Nothing wrong with the third “offense”. 15m is the legal charge of a lawyer who appealed his sentence. As a first time offender as regards to naira note mutilation, he was supposed to be given an option of fine as stated by the law. He was not given and he wasn’t aware of the full interpretation of the law. When he found out, he did the right thing for himself. Nothing wrong with that at all. As for 1 and 2; it’s unacceptable! Everyone involved should go in for it. |
VDM is doing a wonderful job with his daily expose’. But if he wants to go far and also enjoy huge support from Nigerians, he must hire some people to assist him with thorough research and investigation before coming public with critical information. 1. Femi Falana is a lawyer by profession and his job is to defend anyone who seeks for his services. And that also comes with charges. 2. Mutilation of naira note is an offense punishable by 6 months jail term but with a 50k fine for first time offenders. Any jail term longer or without a clause of fine is an infringement on the person’s human rights. And when this happens, the offender has rights to appeal for pardon. Idris aka Bobrisky’s right was infringed on when he was not given the option of fine. And so he reserves the right to appeal the jail term. That is where Falana stepped in. What’s wrong with that as a human right lawyer? The problem is that we are mixing up the “hatred” we have for Idris with sentiments as regards to his rights and law of Nigeria. We are also being carried away by VDM personal beef, vendetta and opinion of Bobrisky. I am 100% against cross dressing and even more against homosexualism. Any day he’s caught engaging in such, he should be prosecuted according to the law of Nigeria. But even in court, he reserves the right to a lawyer. And Falana is licensed to defend such people if he so wishes. Let’s not always be carried away by personal beef VDM has with some people anytime he makes a broadcast. |
Enzo is by a long short not as skillful, fast and smart in football as the father. But coming out here to laugh at him is the stupidest gesture I’ve seen people exhibit. 1. Zinadane is not just an average footballer. Dude can be counted as top 6 best footballers of all time. How do you compare such talent to even an average professional European footballer? 2. If Enzo was a Nigerian, he would make the national team. That’s to show you that he’s not even that bad as some people are trying to make it look. 3. Most of what he achieved as a footballer was a self effort. He started by omitting his original surname zidane and taking up his mums surname to avoid bad mouths like we have in this thread. Na Waoh, people talk as if just anybody can match the talent of zinadane zidane. In the next 30 years or more, Nigeria may never get a skillful player like Okocha. Yet we feel even a much more talented player like zidane should have a replacement just because he has a son. Enjoy your retirement Enzo. You have made your parents, your siblings, wife and 3 daughters proud. |
osuofia2:The lady who collected an Ak 47 had a dislocated joint. After praying, she fell asleep. During the sleep, she encountered all she narrated and sort of won a battle in the dream. On waking up, she was healed. I’ve had such encounters times without numbers. If you don’t believe that some dreams are spiritual battle, it then means you do not know what Christianity is all about or you are not a true follower of Christ. Remember, they didn’t put the testimonies up on NTA. It was in their channel. People went there, lifted some contents, edited it and put out some parts that will drive views for them in social media. |
