Frezhkid10:Osibanjo survived it. However, it’s difficult to survive given how different the mechanism of helicopter is to normal airplanes. |
Jonathan:This most times is usually not true for people that grew up went to school in 70s and 80s in Nigeria. If papa no train, mama did. If mama no train, uncle did. If uncle no train, elder brother or sister did. If other family members no forfeit their education for one person to go to school, the entire village contributed money to build the school. Very few cases you have parents who did it alone. God rest their souls! |
killsmith:Nigerian traditional leaders are government appointees. Their opinions most times does not reflect or align with their ‘subjects’. |
killsmith:Very useless talk! Are you aware Apc didn’t win Lagos and Osun? Are you aware they had a hard time in Ondo? Are you aware a couple of people voted for him in the east? Are you aware though slightly, he won most northern states? Tinubu has never been a Yoruba project. We all know what happened in the last election. |
A matter of time before he will begin to tell the world they are nobody. |
Rostikol:1. To hell with Lee Kuan Yew? lol. This statement clearly shows you don’t know how development works, be it in China of close to 2billion persons, Singapore of 5 million people or Oyedepo’s winners chapel owned businesses. I mentioned General Park’s South Korea. Are they also a small country? 2. Having a large population doesn’t translate to anything if there are no sound policies backed up by effective justice system as used by the Asian tigers. 3. Here we go again! So you expect all Nigerian women to come together in one period and stop patronizing foreign human and synthetic hairs? Haba! I for one so despise anything that’s not original hair on any woman but your idea is the most unrealistic idea I’ve ever heard. Same thing I’m saying, create policies and conducive environment for synthetic hair productions. Ban the importation of human hair. Tag it dangerous to humans and make sure the alternative of synthetic hair production has taken footing in Nigeria. 4. Nollywood hasn’t evolved as expected and therefore not actually productive. What is going on there is some sort of modern day slavery enriching a couple of so called executive producers who do not pay tax. And let me tell you why it was easy for nollywood, it’s just a matter of having a com coder and a film is made. No electricity and raw materials needed. This process is what skit makers are using now. What’s the difference between the so called nollywood industry and talentless skit makers all over the place? None sir. 5. I hardly criticize the government. I’m not sure I’ve even commented on Tinubus misadventures since he took power. So I am not one to criticize just for the sake of it. I only commented here because of the misinformation and gaslighting done by the op of this thread. Solution: 1. Again, waiting for 220 million Nigerians to come together and agree to do a particular thing at one time is delusional of grandeur. 2. Expecting massive production without electricity, literate and skilled/semi skilled population is another speedway to perpetual poverty of a nation. 3. Expecting Nigeria to grow without the government having effective means of checkmating themselves and the entire nation is another delusional process. No effective and efficient justice system is equal to a failed state. |
Is this ignorance or a careful manipulation? Same gaslighting that took place during dumb Buhari period. Some of us were labeled haters of Nigeria when we told them that the stupid “change begins with me” by buhari can’t work. How do you expect 220million people to do the right thing at the same time without an example from the leaders and backing it up with effective reward and punishment strategy? Do these people think at all? Now this one again. Buy made in Nigeria goods cause if you don’t; you are the cause of crashing niaira and thereby wants Tinubu to fail. In other words; a HATER of Nigeria. Look, people want the easiest life and the cheapest goods… and they have the right to seek for such so far the process is legit! Now, it’s up to the government to live by example and then organize policies that will fasten local production and patronage. Why can’t we copy those who have gone through this part and made it out successfully? Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong etc. A clear example is Singapore. Lee Kuan Yew had a rejected, chaotic, racially divisive and very poor population when he took over. Their case was 20 time worst than Nigeria at the moment. But he didn’t go about blaming and expecting the people to do the right thing all at the same time. He simply made sure he, his family members and his entire cabinet lived by example. He propounded policies that wet the ground for local production. The ease of doing business in Singapore since the 60s has been one of the top 3 in the world since when he took over. You can get your certificate of business in 24hrs. And all handled by one department. Electricity was his first project for he knew you can’t earn forex with using generator for production. Singapore does not have a single drop of crude oil in their land but they have been the top three largest producers of refined crude oil for close to 50 years now. Go and read “from third world to first” by Lee Kuan Yew to see how to develop a poor country. Well, it’s not that our leaders don’t know all these, but the problem has always been lack of political will to make some hard decisions. But in making these decisions, their own business interests will be touched too. |
Tjra:Women football is big in USA. Some argue that it’s bigger and more valuable than in Europe. |
TimeManager:Capitalism is not corruption. Monopoly IS corruption! Selling fake products is corruption! Not selling the exact measures you advertise is corruption! Corruption is the government not allowing other traders to compete in that same business and thereby making a few individuals fix prices of their goods and services indiscriminately. If you like buy a good N10 and sell it 1k, it’s pure business so far your conscience can hold it. But this cannot be possible if there’s a level playing ground for all to trade in that particular business. Because if there is, nobody will patronize a businessman with inflated prices. Very simple! We must understand the difference. |
I clubbed almost every other night outside Nigeria for years. It was a place to shake off, have some drinks, meet new friends and business partners. On getting to Nigeria, I could not handle it for a second. It was about competition, prostitutes, noisy speakers and lousy hypemen. I can never get used to this style of clubbing. |
Olat4421:1. China is a very regulated society. Not so many people will want to go through the wahala of VPN as most American websites are banned over there. 2. China would rather promote their own website than an American website. 3. Most of the major contents in most x rated websites are not in Chinese language. |
Nobody like porn pass each other. Major reason it seems like others like it more is because of cheap access to internet, phone, literacy and money to subscribe. Philippines has one of the cheapest access to internet right from the 2000s. |
Why is the talk of sack even coming up in the first place? The talk should be that the police have arrested the person throwing Nigerian money on the floor. |
flokii:I guess you decided to skip the part where I faulted the bereaved ladies. You just chose the convenient part so you could use that part to write off the main message I was trying to pass.”How women are blamed for their husbands’ sins as soon as the man dies”. 2. I was one of the major advocates of the deputy taking over, but even when the man tried, most members of APC including the state house of assembly blackmailed him by calling him a traitor and accused him of betraying his principal. They even tried to impeach him. All these gang up against the deputy was clearly with the nods and connivance of the national APC and their leaders. Who the f**k is Mrs Akederolu; who does not hold any office in a state to take over a government without the support of FG and APC? They only had to soft pedal when they found out the man was good as dead. All of a sudden Mrs Akedorlu is the bad person in all these drama. Oga, when you get to your village, you can trash their opinion. Not here!! |
When Abacha wife died, him wife collect. When Yaradua died, him wife collect. When Suntai Dambaba of Taraba died, him wife collect. When Ajimobi died, him wife collected massively. Now, Aketi is dead, massive preparations for his wife to collect megally. For sure, these women took advantage of the system to go against certain laws. But it’s very clear that In Nigeria, you better die alongside your husband otherwise all his sins will be blamed on you. Same people who were praising and encouraging the wife to hold forth for the husband and calling his deputy a traitor and betrayer are the ones calling the woman a bad woman now. So soon? |
Jayhome24:Please can you throw more light on this? I mean, what did he do to his principal? |
YelloweWest:Go and listen to daddy freeze interview with Debola (the said witness) and Laide Bakare yesterday. Emeka Ike comes off as an arrogant and very blunt person. I don’t like the arrogance part of him and therefore, I’m not endeared to him. But there are lots of lies and blackmail being peddled against him. I guess the arrogance part makes the lies believable. But lies will always remain lies no matter how bad the person may be. |
But who threatened him not to come to Rivers in the first place? Who even has the right to do so? Nobody! He seems to be threatening and fighting with himself. Everyone is not like Wike that threatens people up and down. |
RosyIsBlessed:Truth! |
A few weeks ago, the same people hailing Aketi’s wife and calling the deputy governor a traitor have suddenly declared the acting governor a good man and Aketi’s wife the jezebel. So fast? Same people were seriously making move and calling for the impeachment of the deputy. Why this sudden turn around? Because Aketi may not be coming back soon? And the choppings must go on? Though most Nigerian women will stand for their husbands in illegalities like this, And as much as I don’t think the woman is much of a good woman, why didn’t Aketi handover power to his deputy as soon as he started falling sick? But it’s the woman that’s the problem now. I dey fear people o. |
sirpharrell:My assertion is Cheap talk? Shouting everyone here down doesn’t mean your argument is superior. Take it or leave it, the only reason Fubara is not yet impeached today is because nobody, even the president doesn’t know the dimension the crisis may take. Otherwise they should try it. Or are you saying the president cares so much about Fubara and the people of Rivers State? Adamu Garba carefully captured the dangers of using force on Fubara. |
I laugh when I hear people say only Tinubu can save Fubara. If Tinubu intervenes to save Fubara, it will be for the fear of people’s uprisings that may spring up and therefore dampen the chances of APC in future outings. As it stands now, with the tension and anger in rivers, it’s hard to predict the direction things will face if Fubara is impeached. His only saving grace now is NOT Tinubu, Amaechi or Abe… but the people of Rivers state. |
I encourage Nigerians to invest more in Nigeria. But we all know it’s hard and most times when they do so, their money is wasted in those investments. Reason being that they hardly have any support from the state and federal governments. Most foreign companies thrive because they are given soft landing in taxes and especially security. And this is because almost if not all foreign companies is partly owned by the Nigerian ruling class. Or they have a major share or receives massive kickbacks…. Or the companies are being used for money laundering. Almost all the companies you mentioned, from mtn, airtel, 9mobile, DStv, dangote etc is partly owned by all past and present heads of states and other top politicians. So, a private individual has little or no chance trying to compete with these people. Same fate with those foreign companies who does not have a top government official as a major shareholder. Before you know it, they fold up and leave. Stop talking as if we no follow dey the country. |
Bliss52:1. I totally agree with you that people should stop linking Wike/Fubara crisis with Tinubu. It’s too early to link him. 2. Fubara’s opponents is only Wike and his boys. The good people of Rivers State of which are in the majority are solidly behind Fubara not because they care much about him but because they feel Wike is overstepping his bounds. 3. Employing and paying 200,000 thugs with Rivers money has nothing to do with rivers people. And 200,000 thugs is not equal to 2m votes. 4. Name one Nigerian politician who was doing so well before he became governor? Oh, a thug like Wike deserves all the packs of being a rivers governor but Fubara doesn’t deserve them just because he was a civil servant? Na Waoh |
We never uncover and prevent institutional corruption that has crippled our country, na for inside politicians barricaded mansions na him we go uncover homosexual acts? First things first! |
Since this guy turned down the Saudi offer, I knew it will only take the grace of God for him to go far. I earnestly pray such offers comes up again for him. Play for medals my foot. As if they are playing for camels in Saudi Arabia. |
“Singapore thrived by seeing the world through Henry Kissinger’s way” |
Sometimes it rains till early December. |
God1000:My friend will you keep quiet there!!! A purely Jewish crusade is what you have turned to Islam vs Christianity nonsense! No Christian I know supports the killing of innocent civilians by the Israeli government. They are only in support of dealing with terrorists. It’s now a terrorist act by the Israeli of which I believe it is. But when it comes to Igbos, some Christian and traditional ethnic groups in Nigeria; we term the victims unpatriotic elements. Show me where you have condemned in strong terms like you did now the massacre against Christians in Nigeria especially southern kaduna lately? Or you want to tell me that what’s going on in Gaza is more important to you than the genocide being carried out on your brothers here? Despicable hypocrites!!! |
goodnessme1:Boko haram is 95% Kanuris. |
