grandstar:Sir, what exactly is your point? That she will not do well if she comes to Canada? That she can’t cope since there are no rickety cars, gala sellers, aboki kiosk, church and mosque speakers producing noise pollution 24hrs a day? That she won’t have a housemaid she will be maltreating and paying N7,000 a month? That she won’t be driving a Lexus Es 350 and be feeling like someone who owns a private jet? Or just the ‘loneliness’ and cold? What exactly is your fear for her? Look sir, Canada is by no means near heaven. I for one does not encourage or discourage people from traveling for greener pastures. But I can never understand why once you are a Nigerian, you are expected to love noise, disorderliness, chaos and should enjoy people worshipping you because of material things. Some people didn’t travel to Canada to make money alone but to enjoy exactly the lifestyle the op is complaining about. Let the woman breathe abeg. |
Hamachi:He’s a liar then. If he’s complaining about the harsh cold weather or maybe the “tasteless’ food, I could give him a little pass. But expecting to meet a bunch of noisy and violent dudes playing monkey post football in the streets of a sane environment is not a culture shock. It’s stupidity. Even in Nigeria, he can’t have that stupid luxury in some neighborhoods. It’s not culture shock in some of these Nigerian neighborhoods but all of a sudden, it’s culture shock as soon as he lands in Canada. That was how I met one Lagos boy outside the country some years back and he was seriously lamenting on how he misses the chaotic Lagos over a very orderly environment. I just left him abruptly. I never talked to him again until I left the city. Rolling with those kinds of people will put you in trouble over there. Before you know, he will convince you to join him in setting up a monkey post in the middle of the street. Look, their major problem is that they don’t have anyone to oppress over there. |
ViktorCash:In Canada? How many supermarket and school shootings have you heard happened in Canada especially when compared to Boko, iswap, ipob, Fulani and police shootings in Nigeria? Compare the numbers and tell us who has more mental illness over the other? This particular lifestyle the op is complaining about is what most Nigerians pray for in this Nigeria. Living in a crowded and most times violent neighborhoods but as soon as they make a little money, they move to ‘isolated’ neighborhoods, suburbs and estates ….and be thankful for the upgrade. But when it comes to Canada where almost everyone lives a life of an average Banana island resident, it becomes a problem. I guess the major problem our people usually have in situations like the op is that he doesn’t see very poor people living in face me I face you to make himself feel good. Nobody send their papa. |
Guyman01:This is not true sir. Nigerian unity is very fragile at the moment and if there’s any riot whatsoever that takes the life of a southerner in the north may come with a serious consequence. The Danish cartoon riot and religious killings of southerners in the north was the most stupid act in Nigerian history of violence. Nobody will allow such to happen again. Nigeria was the only country fellow Nigerians killed their fellow Nigerians because of a cartoon a white man in faraway Denmark drew. Other countries protested and went about their businesses. But Nigerians decided to kill their fellow countrymen in protest. That level of barbarism and wickedness will never happen again in Nigeria without consequences. |
Ola9ja23:Please face the useless governor and leave out his ‘innocent’ family who may have been seriously against his misrule. |
Kasdat5:I agree with you. But I think this case is a bit different. 1.It’s a multi billion naira project and legally the responsibility of the FG. No guarantee of refund to state if the state undertakes the project. Well, except you are Elrufai or a northern governor or a member of the ruling party. 3. And it’s very unfair that a state has to undertake such project. Just like leaving a state to undertake EastWest road, Ibadan/lagos expressway or Kaduna/Abuja expressway. 4. Abia state allocation for 4 months may not be able to pay for the project I’m telling you about. |
Very commendable! It will be more commendable if they use concrete technology. The soil on that road is too soft and swampy for asphalt. It may collapse in less than 10 years. He should work closely with Umahi. |
What!!! How many women come remain for Nigeria? |
EngGandalf:He said JJ told him he regretted his decisions in football. Lol. Very careless talk. Why did they move to Europe in the first place? They should have stayed back at Kano pillars for the love of football. They always like to equate every talented player to very LUCKY Messi and Ronaldo. Even these guys at some point in time forgot about trophies and went for the money. And he is here advising a poor African child to go and play for trophies. Injuries can retire you from football the first week of training in Real Madrid or Barcelona. He should stop that joke! |
Day economy is barely surviving due to lack of electricity. Now, imagine what night economy that requires 24hrs electricity in every aspect of production and services would be like? Let’s not even talk about security here sir. When people talk about how it’s a must for government to provide an enabling environment before businesses can thrive, some criminals will quickly bully you into muteness by telling you how unpatriotic you are. De play! |
His opinion is true. However, we all know what he intended to achieve. To deride a man he loves to hate. Now, for a country to develop, it must industrialize. For it industrialize, it’s lager population must be skilled or semiskilled. It happened in Singapore, USA, Germany, South Korea, China and all the developed countries we have today. It’s no magic. But the onus is on Nigerian government to build more government technical schools and skills acquisition centers for the populace. Make it attractive to study engineering, medicine and technology by giving scholarships and providing an enabling environment for the people to thrive after graduation. Without a literate and skilled population in the area of science, technology and medicine, Nigeria can never develop. |
thesicilian:By your standard, only those who studied social sciences, precisely political science should be presidents. |
Napata77:Habaaa! So you honestly think the junta will cancel the contract because of Putin? Wow! Don’t you know how much Niger stand to benefit over the years from the contract? Do you think they will choose handouts from putin over a solid investment and steady income like that? There are loads of reasons Nigeria wants to invade Niger. But they are all negligible. The major reason for the the planned invasion is to avoid the trend of military takeovers in the rest of west Africa especially Nigeria. It makes it easier given the fragile and flawed democratic system we practice here. In other words, the junta is not there for Putin’s sole interests. Tinubu is not also invading Niger because of the so called pressure from west or any gas pipeline. |
sleek214:Stop deceiving yourself. The major people against the invasion of Niger are northerners. Is it because they are not on social media like you Igbos and Yoruba disturbing our peace online? Watch real TV interviews to see if there’s a single northerner even in APC that supports the war. |
HNICEARTH:Tinubu take style comot the guy for him administration and people are here blaming Shehu Sani; though a parrot but a private individual. Who among the people saying Tinubu must include him in his administration can actually work with that devil? None o. Except a devil incarnate like Elrufai himself. He has even started blackmailing Tinubu’s administration already. He wrote an article describing how much of a saint he is and handed it over to Danny Kwangogo to publish as the writer. Elrufai is not the only person that can head the energy ministry. Besides, I heard he’s a surveyor. Tinubu should come out publicly and tell him the game he is playing with him. |
Charisma01:Oga, it’s related. We are talking about bad leadership and federal character here. Should we have advocated for Umahi of ebonyi or fashola of Lagos to be Delta governor just because delta have had 2 consecutive worst governors in the persons of Uduaghan and Okowa? Abuja have enough indigenous people that can do very well in any leadership position. |
Charisma01:As if your own indigenous senators and reps did better. Hypocrites! |
Joe Abah is the most foolish man on earth. So it’s ok to have an indigenous governor in your state but a crime to have an Abuja man as FCT minister? Idiot! |
GanagiBitrus:Dress code for which occasion and made by who? He should have worn parachute called Agbada or worn a suit? Lol The young captain wants to make a mark as revolutionary. And revolutionaries usually don’t like to dress rich . You can hardly differentiate between his dressing and the rest of the presidential guards. In their mist, you can’t identify him. |
GanagiBitrus:Hope you are not trying to mock him? Better do a quick research on his governance in Burkina Faso. The 34 years old has brought the insurgence in the country to almost a standstill within his few months in office. Thomas Sankara maybe reincarnated in Capt Traure. |
gaby:Not same situation sir. Semanya has both male and female reproductive organs. Harmaphrodite. While the Canadian lady is a pure woman who transitioned into a tomboy or Dyke as some will call it. Na still woman she be. No big deal. |
ecolime:Some people think Mr Musk became a dollar billionaire by mere fluke or some padded government contracts. Dude is a dreamer, but a futuristic and purposeful one. |
franchasofficia:I approve this comment! |
Very sad mentality most of us Nigerians have. Using little and personal occasions for fund raising. Committees for wedding, naming ceremony, proposal, graduation to great grandfathers burial. I so detest such committees, especially constituted only to raise money. |
online4business:There are also a lot of extracts of natural things our body doesn’t also need. 5 bottles of coke or Fanta in a month is not out of place. Point here is moderation. |
samwash:You are only calculating from one side. Do you know if that’s the only major source of sugar to his body? Our bodies also need sugar. For lack of it can also be disastrous to our nervous systems. Everything should be done in moderation. |
Much respect to the revered man of God. As much as I believe he made the prayers with good intentions, it came off as selfish and unchristian. Jesus will not make this kind of prayer. You love your wife and wouldn’t want her to be depressed or treated bad while you are gone. Good. But God may still have further and critical assignments for her while you are gone. Again, she’s younger than you. Why should her life be cut “short” just because you have lived out your own time? Christians must be focused! |
God is not the problem but man. Some of the issues like good health, shelter, food, Clothings, security has been conquered in OECD countries. These countries don’t pray for such, they worked it out and almost perfected it. The only tool to working it out is quick, effective and equal justice system. In Nigeria; Religious and tribal bigotry gives way for ineffective justice system … which in turn breeds corruption. This in turn breeds underdevelopment. No need blaming God for our intended shortcomings. Be reminded that I’m not here to prove to you whether God exist or not. Just here to prove to that humans have the sole right to make or destroy their environment. |
Wigs and artificial hairs are turn of for most, if not all men I know. And most women know this. Truth is they wear wigs and artificial hairs to impress their fellow women. Definitely not to impress any man. How a living human being subjects herself to a torture of putting on smelly wigs in this weather is what I can’t explain. And how hideous, fake and dirty it looks when they plaster the wigs to blend with the already painted face and forehead makes me laugh and cry at the same time. |
I’ve heard about this man way before he became governor. Them say him no dey like “corporate” like normal Nigerian politicians. They said he doesn’t cut corners. I hope he brings that lifestyle into Taraba government. |
jrobbins:The way we Nigerians blame independent businessmen dey baffle me o. These guys, especially the fuel marketers go through a lot in this environment. If not paying huge amount of bribe to buy fuel on time, the tanker is falling on the dilapidated roads to their destination. Not to talk about the numerous taxes by the government, task force, Agbero, thieves, police and civil defense. They go through all these and we expect them not to utilize any small opportunity to recover their loses? It’s up to the government to provide enabling environment for these guys and then set up special task forces to checkmate their excesses. The other day, the talk was against POS operators adding extra charges. If the bank is working efficiently, pos guys will be so irrelevant. So, who is to be blamed now? Best bet is whoever has issues with increase in prices of private goods and services should either confront the government to provide subsidies and other enabling environment or simply open his own business and then use it for charity. This is by no means an endorsement for shady business people. |
Very careless and useless talk. There have never been any problem between the 2 groups. APC thugs only have problem with whoever votes against Tinubu’s interest. Be it Igbo, Yoruba or Ijaw. |
everyone is equal, I recall a Nigerian seeing the prime minister walking on the streets without heavily guarded and she went up to him and did a live video and it trended on socials.
