pomide:. Osun, the electricity capital of Nigeria. They don't know! The night life in Osogbo can only be compared to Owerri in the East. You can sleep with your door open. But the quality of housing is a no no and the stray goats just doesn't cut it. |

IfyChuky:. I know a batch C corp member in Osun State, a graduate of political science from BABCOCK. In the course of our discussion, I asked her if she knows Kwame Nkrumah, she said she's hearing that name for the first time. I fainted literary lol. she now started telling me that most of their lecturers are Msc holders. She was really envious of what I could offer in the same field she graduated from. Point is, most of them are empty headed. |

Culture / Re: Igbo Language And Its Downward Trend by NwaAnambra(m): 7:48pm On Mar 03, 2015 |
Op definitely is not travelled as he claimed. Only someone who didn't stay in the east will say the language is dying. Go to all major markets in Lagos, what they speak there is Igbo. From Ladipo to Mandillas to Berger tokumbo car market. Even here in Ikirun Osun state where I am serving, Igbos speak their language proudly. The truth is that the UNESCO prediction is best a phantom. My principal and V.P also speak because they did their university education in UNN in 1992. So what's the fuss about?. Even in the various universities in the East, each faculty has an Igwe and they use it to promote the language and the culture. |

@Op, those are the ones you know. Come to Onitsha and Aba and you will marvel. You will see one haggard looking man and you will look down on him but by the time he tells you the number of high rise buildings he owns, you go cut liver. But that doesn't mean education is all about University. Sometimes you find out they have a better command of English language than you that attended the University. |
