Sometime last week, I went to Uyo and was really impressed by the flyovers and the aesthetics,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, when I was coming back to Onitsha, I took AKTC first bus and was busy discussing the achievements of Akpabio with fellow passengers, until the driver opened his mouth and started educating me lol........... never knew he was that enlightened. Those who live in Uyo believe that Akpabio is a big fraud.

amacastel:

My der wen last did u travel to onitsha? Onitsha is the 4th most expensive city in the county after lag,abj and ph ther is no 120k flat in osha now even @ onitsha suburban like nkpor, awada, ogidi, nsugbe and nkwele the cheapest flat for old houses is 180k while new houses is around. 250k _ 300k as suburban that's abt 15k monthly places like omagba phase 1 is around 400k to 350k same with fegge ,odoakpu and other osha area for flat, cheapest bike now in osha is 100 naira @ list from nkpor junction to main market is 250-300 bike so with owere rd is 300_ 350 , cheapest bus fare to a treckable distance is 30 naira , cheapest mama put food in osha is 200naira a plate
Food stuff in osha is high even some part of lag is cheaper than osha unless u are buying in large quantity then u can get it cheaper
A bottle of beer in osha is 200 naira excep hero in some places dts 170 bt most hotel in osha sale beer 250_300 depending the area like G R A ,omagba phase 1 even some hotel @ nkpor .
A street shop @ osha is 8k_ 10k monthly while markt cost around 120k_ 600k depending the market

Nepa bills nko that 1 na wahala dy cos as am writing this my nepa bill dis month for 3bedrom flat is 5k without seeing the light ooo . 1 liter of fuel in osha is 105 naira and 1 liter of keroseen is 140naira

The only cheap thing in osha is cloths, shoes, bags, drugs, electronics, building materials and spare parts to some extent( toyota, honda, nissan, mercedes) for other types of car u are on ur own
Nb if u can live in osha u will adapt in any state cos osha is moderately high is not cheap @ all.
you nailed it. The bike own just tire me. From peoples club to Odume layout is 100 bucks, and to think it's a trekkable distance. the bike guys no even send you.

onecola: Onitsha is cheap, a 3 bedroom cost about 120k to 300k,while a beer goes for #150(Hero), 180(Star) to #250 in regular joints. Transport fares still cost as low as #20,#30 for a drop in public in Onitsha, Okada collect #50 for short distances movement. With #150 one can still combine rice, bean, plantain and meat. For main market is there for all ur wade rope needs. Water is free in some places.
If by onitsha you mean obosi, nkpor nkwelle ezunaka, ogidi and so on, then onitsha is costly. 150# can't get you a decent plate of food. But in Lagos, depending on location 100# can feed you comfortably. bike can be very expensive when you equate cost with distance the areas I mentioned. Feeding is costly for the average salary earner. If you are on minimum wage, you must be forced to share flat with another.

I am cool bro, cheesy we are saying the same thing. The governor is doing his best at least.
That said, there's plenty room for improvement in terms of opening up new frontiers. I'd like to see a new Nsukka and so on. New investments to increase the purchasing power of the people and reduce the poverty rate.

My Good friend, nobody is fighting with you, so chill. I spent five years in Nsukka and have visited Nkanu parts cos my friends are from there. My roommate is from uzo uwani. so I know the entire place really well. but I am not here to fight with you or any other person. Enugu remains the political capital of the East, so we are all proud of Enugu.

Enugu city was already well planned and developed by the past governors of the former eastern Nigerian CAPITAL! Its an insult to put Obi and Chime in the same sentence! !!! Seriously, they belong to different world. Who care about beauty when they are starving? A f.ool. I seems to me that you people care more about seeing the city look beautiful that having the state developed holistically. Eight years in power and all he achieved is the continued beautification of Enugu city. Do you people even have the idea that Enugu can feed the whole southeast if they utilize their potentials in agriculture. All we get is beautification this or that; How can you built a castle for a man who can barely eat? That's where Obi and Chime differs.....One is bent on developing is state and making them to be the number one destination for investment, while the other believe in making a single city look beautiful so he can impress the gullible masses.
lol, The great Professor Obasi Igwe from Political science department University of Nigeria will always ask : Of what importance is any political idea to a man who has not filled his belly?

Let me correct an impression, there are only two cities in the East that meet the strict criteria of being a city: Enugu and Owerri.
The rest have only gained township status.
If we want to define a city by Western standards, Then only Ikeja, Lagos island down to Ajah and calabar, and Abuja has reached that status.

first of all, the topic of the thread is misleading. As much as I like Sullivan, I must give an objective analysis of his government. He embarked on needless beautification of the urban Centre, almost neglecting other parts of the state. As it stands now the only factory operating at optimum level in Emene is Inosson plastics. He failed to open up new frontiers. A first time visitor to Enugu will be bewildered by the gory picture that will greet him upon leaving the state capital. Presently, Enugu State remains the only state in the East with only one City. Enugu state capital has been a nice place since the discovery of coal and therefore there's nothing new Sullivan will add that has been seen in the capital.

What do you know about Anambra? U are a just a mere onye obia and therefore can never see anything good about Anambra. Meanwhile I'm in Lagos now and can authoritatively tell u dat Onitsha alone is better than 70% of Lagos having toured the state mainly on research purpose.

I am from anambra state and I will tell u the level of insecurity in that state is unbearable compared to enugu or even lagos. I hardly hear of kidnappers or robbers asking someone to leave their state.

I know 2 of my friends whose wealthy fathers were assassinated in anambra state, in their villages. I mean these people are from anambra state, they live in enugu, own properties and companies in lagos and abuja, only for them to be killed in the village in anambra.

I think there is more wickedness in the hearts of we anamrarians than other parts of nigeria. Its like for u to be rich and do business in anambra state now, you have to get some kind of charm for protection.
Even though you are from Anambra, do you live in Anambra? If not, then you are talking nonsense..... fooooools lyk u only sees nairaland as your news source. travel and see tins for your self. mumu.

You don't conclude by passing through the state via federal road... Of cos every federal road is cool... Anambra and delta has the worst road networks in nigeria in terms of the states I've been to... I just finished my service this feb, and I served in delta, asaba precisely.. I was really disappointed.. Still don't know why EFCC haven't apprehended their Gov Dr Oduaghan.. You didn't even mention imo state, cross river, kaduna... #fuckit...
u can begin by telling us ur state of origin, then i can take u frm there....FYI: Anambra has the best road network in d south-east.

Chomzy19: who is comparing Enugu n Anambra in terms of development? On what basis is it Good roads, Education, communication facilities, organised housing, light, Sanitation, entertainment. Enugu city n these other parts may be d urban areas in Enugu but all d other l/g Awgwu, udi, nkanu etc have good roads n lights more than awka, onitsha and all d big cities in anambra, it might b a rural area bt it is developed. What Enugu lacks is water and Water in Anambra is nt even provided by d govt.
mechie onugi! I stay in Nsukka and av cosiderably gone around d area and all i got to say is dat it wil take Enugu d next 200yrz to reach d present level of Anambra...move around Enugu state and u wil testify.
