There’s fraud everywhere even among those who are not holding public offices. Whether you’re in Lagos or any urban area looking for an apartment to rent, you could be locked in the hands of rental scam tricksters.

No fewer than 90 prospective tenants have become victims of rental fraud allegedly orchestrated by one Alhaji Lateef Ajayinka in Egbe area of Lagos. The victims were said to have paid different sums of money totalling about N18million to Alhaji Ajayinka at different times to rent units of flats which was then under construction.

The victims were shown around the yet-to-be-completed house with a promise to complete it in a few days but it turned out to be another mind-boggling scam three months after with 90 people loosing over N18million.

Ex-Nigeria star Nwankwo Kanu has lost N1.4 billion (about $104m) and a top executive of his hotel has been arrested and charged to court.

Managing director of Hardley Suites Hotel in Lagos, Ayoola Gam Ikon, 49, has been arrested and charged to court for the alleged fraud.

Operatives of the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit arrested Ikon, the managing director of Hardley Suites Limited situated at Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, off Elsie Femi Pearse Street, Victoria Island, Lagos southwest Nigeria,  for allegedly stealing the N1.4 billion belonging to the hotel owned by Kanu.

Also arrested along with him  over the alleged fraud is a hotel staff, Oke Samuel.

The girl's name is Nkemnaso Uzoka. A classmate in FGC Ikot Ekpene (1996) set. She was a former Delta soap model alongside Mandu Idem another classmate.

FYI, the source of data was JAMB website. Ask your brother Prof. Dibu Ojerinde why he removed data on applications and admissions by states of origin from the website since he became JAMB registrar.

The problems posed by Igbo traders in Lagos is child's play compared to those by Fulani cattle rearers but Fashola dare not touch the later as he very well knows the consequence.
