From the Universal Declaration Of Human Rights:

Article 12.
No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.

Article 16.

With the unabated violence and insecurity in some states across the country, the Nigerian Governors Forum has called for the creation of a Special Security Intervention Fund to assist affected states in tackling the challenge.

The governors made the plea after a late night meeting on Sunday in Abuja, saying the intervention fund is ‘essential’.

The chairman of the forum and governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, after the meeting that lasted over four hours, noted that the introduction of state police is one strategy that should help in combating the rising insecurity in the country.

The forum strongly condemned the current spate of insecurity and violence in the nation.

The meeting which focused on the issue of insecurity also reached the resolution that the forum will soon organise a conference on security.

The governors also demanded for a multi-dimensional approach to security issues to address the spate of insecurity and violence in the country.
