bbpreye: Does it affect the price of garri?
It affects the price ohh . .

The fewer pregnant women travelling will result in an increase in domestic demand for garri.

This will in turn cause the price to rise if supply is not increased.

The birth of the child or quintuplets will result in more mouths to feed which further increases demand and therefore increases the price.

Politics › Gunmen Kidnap The Ibenanowei Of Okordia-Clan In Bayelsa by NwaNimo1(op): 5:01pm On Aug 25, 2012
Gunmen Kidnap Bayelsa Monarch

The Ibenanowei (paramount) ruler of Okordia clan in Yenagoa local government area of Bayelsa State, HRM, Chief Richard Seiba has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Vanguard gathered that the monarch’s Ikarama-Okordia country home residence was violated at about 2am by the unknown gunmen who whisked him away.

As at press time, the whereabouts of the monarch was unknown while his kidnappers were yet to establish contact with his family.

Though the motive for the abduction of the monarch, aged 70, viewed by many as sacrilegious could not be ascertained but informed sources told our correspondent that the kidnappers may have carried out the action for monetary reason.

It was learnt that the kidnappers may have launched the attack through the river (Taylor creek) and escape with their victim through same with a view to avoiding the security check at the Zarama and Biseni exit if they had used the community road linking the East-West road to get away.

According to family sources, the gunmen broke into his apartment through a window by destroying the burglary.

The natives, it was further learnt could not sleep again when the news of the abduction of the monarch spread around the community.

“We are still in the dark as to the motive for his abduction and we don’t know is condition as we have not been able to establish contact with him.

We are appealing to the kidnappers to kindly release the old man. We are also calling on the security agencies and the state governemnt to intervene in the matter,” said a family source who described him as a peaceful and caring second class traditional ruler.

Contacted, the police public relations officer, Mr. Fidelis Odunwa (DSP) said he was not aware of the incident and pleaded for time, promising to get back to our correspondent.

Politics › Imo Makes Possession Of Igbo Language Compulsory For Admission Into University by NwaNimo1(op): 3:43pm On Aug 25, 2012
IMO State Government has directed that any student seeking admission into any of the state-owned tertiary institutions must possess Igbo Language at credit level.

Rochas Okorocha stated this while inaugurating the board of Ikemba Ojukwu Convention Centre, Owerri. The board is chaired by the former Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, Prof. George Obiozor, while the Director General and Chief Executive is the former Minister of Education, Prof. Fabian Osuji.

Imo State University (IMSU) and Imo State Polytechnic are some higher institutions owned by Imo State Government.

Okorocha noted that the requirement of Igbo Language for any prospective student into any of the state’s tertiary institutions was to ensure that the language and culture were preserved.

He noted that the centre was put in place to preserve and showcase the culture of the people of Ndigbo. Late Dim Ojukwu’s son, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu Jnr., in his speech, said the family was glad by the way his father was honoured through the centre.

The Speaker of the State Assembly, Chief Benjamin Uwajimogu and the Chairman of the state Council of Traditional rulers, Eze Sam Ohiri, said the establishment of the centre was by creation of the law in the assembly, stressing that the research, culture and tradition of Ndigbo would be projected through the centre.

Politics › Okorocha, Others To Raise N100 Million For Igbo Boko Haram Victims by NwaNimo1(op): 6:32pm On Jul 09, 2012
A pan-Igbo group, Committee 21 (C21), has announced plans to raise N100 million to assist Southeast indigenes who were victims of Boko Haram violence.

The group, after a meeting in Lagos chaired by a former military administrator of Lagos, Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, at the weekend, said it would be unfair to leave the victims and their families to bear the brunt alone.

Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, who is the Director of Mobilisation of the group, said it was out to ensure Igbo unity.

Its president, Senator Annie Okonkwo, said the group would step up its dialogue with Igbo sons and daughters to ensure that the race gets its due in Nigeria.

Spirit of Okija: Nwokem Shattap your mouth there!! What arrant nonsense are you trying to write?!

First thing first, In the Nigerian Judiciary system, we do not use the Jury system... The Judge is the only one that has the power to pass a verdict.. You must be a nincompoop to call a Magistrate 'lowly'.. I guess you wanted their case to be taken straight to the supreme court abi?!
If you dont know about something, shut the fhuck up!!

Every Judgement passed by a lower court can be appealed in a higher court except the ruling of the supreme court....

What do you know about the law?! If you say the act that was apssed by the Enugu State house of assembly went against the laws of human right which you quoted 'IT IS A FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHT THAT EVERY PERSON HAVE THE RIGHT TO EARN A LIVING'.. Then let me put this to you Lawyer Nwanjoku, Is prostitution not a form of earning a living?! Yet it is illegal in Nigeria.. Point is Every State in Nigeria has the right to make specific laws for their states.. In Rivers State, you can use sirens to disturb the peace, I lagos however, its an offence punishable by jail time.

You just said the Lawmakers do not understand the law, FIRST you called them 'LAW MAKERS' and then turn around to question their authority to make laws. You are worse than a vulcanizer.. You lack any reasoning capabilities and I can bet that you possess a single digit I.Q..

A group of persons were caught breaking the law, sent to a court recognised under the laws of the federal republic, tried and found guilty and sentenced, and an Iron bender like you dares call them thugs..

All you managed to do was highlight your foolishness and lack of understanding of the basic laws of the land.. No court would try a case except both parties have legal representation which is normally provided to them by the court in the absence of one of their own..

Just so you are educated.. It is the Job of the Houses of Assembly, Senate and Reps to make laws for the federal Republic & States.. Its the Job of the Police and other Law enforcement agencies to to "ENFORCE THE LAWS made by the Legislative, Its the job of the Judiciary to punish violators of those laws made by the Legislative..

My advice to you is to shut up on this subject from here on.. This your moronity may just be contagious..
You dey address your 'mother's luva' like dis?
