Peter Obi Spreading Ethnic Hate, Planning Fake Assassination To Gain Voters Sympathy – APC The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council has accused Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate of spreading ethnic hatred and whipping up tribal sentiments in order to gain undue advantage ahead of the 2023 general elections. The APC in a statement by its Campaign Spokesperson, Festus Keyamo (SAN) said Obi made a hate-filled video and deliberately concocted a WhatsApp message in which he lied that a group belonging to APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu asked Yorubas not to vote for him. The statement reads ” Our attention has been drawn to an offensive, hate-filled video made and circulated by the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, in which he accused an amorphous and non-existent “Tinubu’s Group” of spreading a Whatsapp message calling on the Yoruba not to vote for him. The purported message, according to Mr. Obi, forewarned the Yoruba that a vote for Peter Obi would be a vote for a seaport in South/South and South/East”. “For the avoidance of doubt, this is a transcript of the so-called message as relayed by Mr. Peter Obi: “Yoruba shine your eyes o, if you vote for Peter Obi, it is automatically voting for seaports in South South and South East. The Igbos will stop coming to Lagos State to invest, rather they will go to Delta and Rivers States, they may even stop building houses in Lagos. It will affect a lot of Yorubas. Yoruba ro nu o.” “Firstly, we vehemently deny the existence of any of such “Tinubu group” that made and circulated such a message. All groups supporting the APC Presidential Candidate and his running-mate have clear designations with well-known promoters. In addition, it is only messages released by the APC Presidential Campaign Council that are officially authorized and for which we take responsibility. “We challenge Mr. Peter Obi to reveal the source and name(s) behind that nebulous Whatsapp message. We wish to state that it is obvious Mr. Peter Obi deliberately concocted that message and circulated that offensive video himself as a campaign strategy in order to come across as a victim of some kind of ethnic agenda, whereas in truth, he is the real agent provocateur of an ethnic agenda. https://independent.ng/peter-obi-spreading-ethnic-hate-planning-fake-assassination-to-gain-voters-sympathy-apc/ https://independent.ng/wp-content/uploads/Festus-Keyamo-2.jpg |

Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has commiserated with Senator Ifeanyi Ubah over the death of his aides in Sunday’s failed assassination attempt. DAILY POST had reported that Ubah escaped death by the whiskers when assassins unleashed a barrage of bullets on his convoy on Sunday. This led to the alleged killing of his aides, including police escorts in the convoy. Reacting, Obi tweeted, ”I deeply commiserate with my brother, Senator @Dr_IfeanyiUbah, and extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in this ugly incident. ”The attack is condemnable and unacceptable. I hereby re-emphasise the urgent need for enhanced security of lives and property in society. I have continued to lay emphasis on the urgent need for enhanced security and protection of life and property in our society. ”Those who engage in these dastardly acts should be fished out swiftly using all machinery available to government, and promptly punished in accordance with our laws.” He, therefore, urged the federal and state governments to strenuously strive to curb the menace of insecurity in the country. https://dailypost.ng/2022/09/12/peter-obi-reacts-to-attack-on-ifeanyi-ubah-advises-fg/ Wetin dis one dey talk? |

Be careful, our investigation of Mamu already produced “mind-boggling” outcomes – DSS The Department of State Services (DSS) has called on members of the public to guard their utterances over detained Kaduna train hostage negotiator Tukur Mamu. In a statement on Sunday, DSS Spokesman, Peter Afunanya disclosed that the agency should be left alone to concentrate on its investigation into Mamu. Already, Afunanya revealed that the “outcomes” of the investigation have been “mind-boggling”. The DSS spokesperson however did not give details of its findings so far. Afunanya’s statement reads: “The Department of State Services (DSS) has followed, with keen observation, overzealous comments by sections of the public in view of issues relating to the arrest and investigation of Tukur Mamu. “The Service wishes that it is not distracted with some of the skewed narratives pervading the media space. “Instead, it requests to be left alone to concentrate on the ongoing investigations, the outcomes of which have remained mindboggling. “Meanwhile, the Service will cease further comments on the subject matter since the court will determine its course.” “Consequently, the public is hereby enjoined to desist from making unguarded utterances and await the court proceedings,”Afunanya said. Mamu was arrested in Cairo,Egypt last week.he was “returned” to Nigeria next day and taken into custody by DSS, which described him as person of interest. Afunanya also disclosed last week that security agencies searched Mamu’s office and residence where military accoutrement and other items were found. https://newsdiaryonline.com/alert-be-careful-our-investigation-of-mamu-already-produced-mind-boggling-outcomes-dss/ https://i0.wp.com/newsdiaryonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Tukur-Mamu-2-768x537-1.jpg |

The Federal Government has stated that Nigeria may seek a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over its mounting debts if it cannot address its fiscal challenges before further escalating. This was disclosed by the Director General of the Budget Office of the Federation, Ben Akabueze, during an interview on an Arise Television programme, where he insisted that Nigeria needs to sort out its revenue problem. Akabueze, who said that although Nigeria was not yet in that kind of desperate situation to seek relief from IMF, however, warned that the country may unwillingly ask for a bailout from the multilateral financial institution if the fiscal challenges are not addressed in a sensible and sustainable manner. What the Budget Office Director General is saying Akabueze, on the rising fiscal headwinds, said, “Essentially, there are two ways countries end up with the IMF. One is voluntary when they just say look IMF come we need help, or when things get to the grind where they simply have no other option. “I don’t see Nigeria going to the IMF voluntarily. It’s a hot issue here in Nigeria. But the honest truth is that if we don’t address our fiscal challenges in a sensible and sustainable manner, we may end up unwillingly with the IMF.’’ Going further, he added. “We are not there yet at the point of involuntary. But we could as much stop digging. There is a maxim that if you find yourself in a pit, you should stop digging and start climbing out. “And if we continue to fund regressive deficits, it is tantamount to continuing to dig. If we continue to pass on reasonable opportunities to increase revenues by introducing taxes, it is tantamount to continue digging. “Even though I said we should not cut expenditure in total, we need to get more efficient in our spending. If we don’t do that again, it is tantamount to continuing to dig.” The Budget Office boss said that although he would not advocate for cutting expenditure in total, he advised that the country should be more efficient in its spending, noting that if that the inability to do that will be tantamount to also digging into the hole. In case you missed it Akabueze in the same interview suggested that the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) should increase the amount of statutory contribution made by banks. The Budget Office also disagreed with the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantanmi, on the suspension of the 5% excise duty on telecommunication services. https://nairametrics.com/2022/09/07/fg-says-it-may-seek-bailout-from-imf-if-fiscal-challenges-are-not-addressed/ |
