nues aweso:Sounds like a pretty sweet idea! sley4life:Haba mana, I beg to differ sley4life. Can't see how the second largest movie industry in the world isn't a brand name! But yeah, dem Glo folks have their shite together though ![]() |
Yeah, the little inactivity on the TV/Movies page probably reflects how there isn't that much interesting gist out there in the actual Nollywood scene or the TV/Movies scene in general, who knows ![]() |
Guess it's been a rather slow couple of days on the TV/Movies page on Nairlaland, there are other hot sturvs around other pages so it's all good. nues aweso:Aaaah, no vex moderator aweso, you don't want to feel the full brunt of one of them! I have, and it's not pretty ![]() |
Obama Malaria lol It's awesome though, Ghana have their shite together compared to Naija so they deserve to host the G! He doesn't have to see all the MEND shenanigans and all the other crazy sturvs happening right now. Let him come visit when it's all well and good! |

This is either part of a marketing campaign by GlobalCom or a great way to promote the Nollywood industry or both: Telecommunications industry giant Globacom recently appointed top Nollywood pedigree as Ambassadors to represent the Nigerian film industry. Here are some quotes from the Nollywood nobles: Rita Dominic "A great honour for me for being recognised because Nollywood represents Africa." Uche Jombo "I want to express my gratitude to Glo for naming me as one of the ambassadors. To be here representing the brand is an honour and I appreciate it." Funke Akindele "I am so happy and privileged to be one of the ambassadors because many are called, but few are chosen. I am happy to be one of the chosen ones. http://thenationonlineng.net/web/articles/8843/1/Glo-unveils-Nollywood-ambassadors/Page1.html |

Looks like Styl-Plus are planning to reclaim their throne as the top dogs in the Naija music industry: Their smash hit single 'Olufunmi' was responsible for putting Nigerian pop music on the global map. Now the R&B trio are making a come back to the mainstream! Styl-Plus recently performed for the president of Sierra Leone to celebrate the country's independence day and their performance reportedly brought the house down. This current success has certainly set a precedence for a resurgence of the group that started it all in Nigeria. According to their manager, the group plans to be moving to Lagos, Nigeria in a few weeks, they plan to stage a concert in Lagos currently titled 'Styl-Plus and Friends' to mark their move to the city. The manager also mentioned that they are working on a new album. You think they stand a chance in today's Naija music scene with acts like 2face and P-Square or is their era done with?

A video report shows that University of Windsor in Canada accepts a lot of Nigerians to their University despite the crazy immigration process. The video below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CSvN9xl8U0 It's such a strange double standard. The visa immigration process conducts the application process with the bias that the student does not want to return back to their respective country. And on the other hand, the Country seriously depends on foreigners to support its economy! |
