ANSMEDIA: You and the guy you quoted kept trolling in this thread, why? I was made to understand you are from Abia, why are you constantly here when you should be making effort to enthrone good governance in Abia just like Anambra has done since the time of Ngige to Obi to Obiano and now Soludo. Do something meaningful for the good of your state of origin. Peace
It's shameful that u are using a government account to engage in such a dishonorable practise. U ignored the clowns up there that keeps derailing the thread to call me out. Have u gone through my comments to see if what u say is what i Do?
I am ot from ABia. U keep referencing Abia as a bad example. Lol. Next year lots of u will be shocked and dumbfounded.
It's on record that Ikpeazu did more urban renewal than Obiano. If Obiano put efforts on road as Ikpeazu did, Anambra would not be scorbed toda based on roads in the urban area,
Pacesetterz: Every social media post u turn to has all Anambra pple complaining bitterly of roads. I am still asking what did Obiano the drunkard do for ndi anambra?
Substandard airport Falling flyover Abandoned ICC project with erosion gradually eating its foundation and environs. Failed abakiliki road where he’s a number one customer in all the liquor shops there.
Obiano was a disaster. He couldn’t even fix his senatorial district Anambra east. Pple are complaining of bad roads,Obiano brothers in Aguleri are also complaining. Alu eme
Oga just leave some vilage people. SOme of them if u go visit them now na mud full their leg with their torn slippers. Dem never leave their illlage go out beofre that's why they think Obiano was the best. Peoppe wey mumu
A Legacy that has rotten. He promised 20, but built comon 4. A wholed Lagos governor happy that he built common 4 schools. Same governor that was building estates up and down. Truely the man no value education
Most of us labouring on Tinubu matters have never benefitted once directly or indirectly from him. Occasionally, I always make this statement whenever there is a need for it because it seems Tinubu is shielded by people that are not well exposed to spiritual, intellectual and mental battle required for a National Political Battle.
Keyamo is doing a great job but it is not good to make him look stupid defending Tinubu. The last time I had to explain biblical speaking in tongues to conclude and diffuse discussion on that topic.
Bayo Onanuga has written a media report on the well intention of the message which the audience understood. In Nigeria situation where we have frustrated people, trivial things become a subject matter to them. While great minds discuss ideas and proffer solutions to issues, ordinary mind and frustrated minds discuss people.
I write this for record purposes, it will not be ideal for Bayo Onanuga to issue a Correction Statement to media again on future statement to be made by Tinubu before election.
Thanks.
Does it not sound pathetic to u, that in every speech he makes, his poor staffs will need to come up with a press conference explaining what he actually meant?
Pacesetterz: Are u minding the brainless idiot quoting u. Even his drunkard of a master couldn’t even fix the almighty abakiliki road where he goes to drink Anambra’s treasury to stupor. Abakiliki road is part of d roads to be fixed by Soludo. Doesn’t that send a message of underperformance by the drunken drunkards administration. Everything the drunkard hastily did towards the last few months of his administration are falling apart and needs Soludo’s timely intervention.
owobokiri: You can not contest the fact that governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo came into the state house with the best of intentions and is doing everything humanly possible to improve the circumstances of the state. Less than a year and he is already going so strong. Imagine what Anambra will be like in the next 8 years! No wonder Buhari hates him.. Bad people normally hates good people..
Buhari hates him how? Will u people shut up for once?
He hates him and he made him part of his economic team?
Rocksvibes234: ANAMBRA STATE GOVT AWARD’S CONTRACTS TO CONTRUCT FLYOVER, MORE ROADS
Paul Nwosu
Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Governor of Anambra State is gradually making good his promise to turn Anambra State into one huge road construction site, all in a bid to ultimately make travelling around the state easier and pleasurable.
To this end, Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) recently approved and awarded contracts for the construction of a flyover at Ekwulobia to decongest the hellish traffic jam often experienced at the roundabout. Other adjoining roads around the area to be constructed include the Nanka –Ekwulobia – Aguata local government headquarters road (2.0km); Ekwulobia – Oko road (0.825km) and Ekwulobia – Isuofia road (1.125km). Other ancillary structures and facilities to be built around the Ekwulobia hub are, a bus terminal building, fuel station, security office building, fire station and other external works such as sewage treatment facilities, drainage, landscaping, etc. All the construction work will be handled by A.V. Vision Construction Nig Ltd at the cost of N10,100,000, 000.00 (ten billion, one hundred million) and the work is to be completed in 18 months.
Also to be constructed by A.V. Vision Construction Nig Ltd are the Isuofia to Nanka Road with spur to Nanka/Obi Adimorah Road (2.2km and 10.3m wide) at the cost of N748,000,085.05k (seven hundred and forty eight million, eighty five naira, fifty kobo).
Six vital roads in Awka, the capital city of the state that were also among the set of contracts just awarded include, the Club (Abakaliki) Road (2.078km); Regina Caeli to Y Junction (1.173km); Millenium Industry – INEC – Ekwueme Square (1.762km) and Unizik Temp Site – Okpuno – Isuaniocha Junction (6.847km). Others are, Chukwudifu Street (0.297km) and PPSSC – NECO office Road (0.473km). The construction of these roads have been awarded to Niger Construction Company Ltd (Nigercat) at the cost of N6,665,960,804.70k (six billion, six hundred and sixty five million, nine hundred and sixty thousand, eight hundred and four naira, seventy kobo and the company has a target of 10 months to complete the job.
The construction of Oye Agu Abagana to Nimo Road with spur at Nimo road (5.12km and 10.3m wide) was equally awarded Triconstruct Nig Ltd at the cost of N1,600,013,018.72k (0ne billion, six hundred million, thirteen thousand, eighteen naira, seventy two kobo). The company has 8 months to finish the work.
Sometimes I feel bad why SOludo no take off after Obi.
IS this not what the clown called Obiano could have been doing after Obi handed over to him with enough money to manage the state.
Now Anambra virtually have no good road cause an incompetent governor could not get his priorities right.
GOD HAS SENT SOLUDO TO TAKE AWAY OUR SHAME. GOD BLESS HIM.
ANAMBRA IS THE PRIDE OF ALAIGBO, AS LAGOS IS TO SW. MAY SOLUDO SUCCEED.
Kingsbuchi: This is an old stat by the way I didn't see Lagos in the list, does it mean these states have a better GDP than Lagos or does it mean that you have comprehension issues that you are unable to deduce that the list was just for only 22states? Nkita ara
No dey entertain that clown. He is just spamming the thread. Just ignore hiim to oblivion. His opinion won't stop Imo from progressing
Biafraaa: I know get the strength to curse online. If you be man since you dey anambra drop me you're location make I come make you call me fool. If you no dey coma no say no be my mama born me.
Kenneth4u205: Sulodo already a failure. All I hear since he came in is demolishing buildings and tax tax tax .
Not sure he will get a second tenure if he continues this way . People like us borrowed money to bury our loved one in the past . And this governor want people to pay tax from borrowed money . This is foolishness.
Ngige was the best performing Governor ever to emerge from my state Anambra. It's a pity he later join the satanic party APC which completely destroy him
Na wa. Las las ur rating is irrelevnt. He passed budget 2 months ago. Any person wey get sense no go dey ask for magic. U even know weda him don get the loan him apply for?
Biafraaa: He keeps imposing tax upon tax yet his state is about to turn into the dustbin capital of Nigeria. Once you see welcome to Anambra the smell of dustbins will welcome you first. Very Dirty state. Spit
Luckysbab: I don't get what the complaint is about in this.
Not holding brief for the governor's performance (I am not in Anambra, as to be able to make a fair assessment), but if you have money to throw lavish ceremonies, why not be taxed?
No reasonable person should even be accessing Soludo's performance as at this time.. When did he sign budget kwanu.
THis is how llittrates will leave trails of negative feeedback about soludo later people will screenshot and post as fact.
Someone that passed budget barely 2 moths ago..
As for the tax, it is ver welcomed. It is a tool to discourage the proliferation of non-commercial banners and posters in anambra.
Grgton: just shut up okay??I'm not talking about who's leading in economy or something, we are talking about urban planning in Anambra state. Do you guys understand what urban planning is ?? Not a whole chaos you guys call a City ?? Look I'm getting lots of back up commentries all because of the simple comment I made, which is really annoying; the truth hurts you know ??
Your message is good. Your mode of conveying it can heat up animosity. That's bad

If you observe. Any tweet or post against Obi are all within 2012/13
Anambra people started enjoying Obi's governance after he left. That is because most of his projects were commisioned By Obiano cause the spilled over to his tenure. Obi paid and was not owing contractrs.
When you tell them this things, it would seem as if you are making mockery of their unplanned urban settlements. Anambra as a whole lacks planning
I know they are coming for; I have to go now. Bye kikikiki
You don't have to turn a civil convo to something else. You guys are just jockin around u don't know how important it is for us to revive the economy in the SE. If we don't do it now, we would not be getting our political and economic respect back anytime soon
Ofodirinwa: Take precieved glamor out of the picture and I will choose Alaba 100x over Glo. Again not only does Alaba create million and billionaires in a way that working for Glo does not, it also creates employment at an entry level at a volume the whole od corporate Nigeria cannot and has not. Again, let us not lose what we have as a people to entertain this constant need to pretend we have nothing.
I'm not again industry ( in fact I love it) or corporations but look at Anambra. Anambra has corporations and has Onitsha main and Nnewi. Which has created more wealth for people? The office or the small business? The greater bulk of Anambra's upper class was created by the trader system. This is a system that has produced real results that nobody else in Africa has. The CBD of Ontisha is main market. That's what a CBD is. A centeral district where business is done. If you want to remove that and replace it with Malawi then we are not being result based.
If you're speaking of results, the biggest corporation in the world will only create wealth for its share holders. Employees (engineers etc) will be comfortable assuming they don't lose the job, but their job will never give them wealth. our markets create real wealth for real people, even if they start as sales girls and boys.
Comparing a shop to a hut is not reasonable. I think you're more into looks than results. The industrial volume of Aba supplies the whole of Africa and beyond with its products. I will never ignore that or decide it's primitive. If that is primitive give me more primitive
Do not forget that 100% of the viable industries in the SE either start as shops or small business and many of the viable companies in nigeria depend on Igbo merchants for distribution. Glo does not exist without Alaba and co.
Meanwhile the shops don't need the corporations.
This is a good discussion and I think both sides are valid but I'm very against the constant need to pretend we have nothing in order to say we need something more. Do you know the issue this causes? Someone will be making furniture in Orlu and the government will give a German furniture company cash grants and free land to come do the same thing in the same Orlu. We will even clap for the gov. When real development is putting your energy into what you already have.
A lot of Nigerians, especially the ones that are unproductive, take suits and desks more seriously than results because vanity and appearance matters more than achievement. It is better to impress others by pretending to be western. Meanwhile, the west is scrapping all of these things
Lol.. Are you for real? Do you know that Just tech companies in Lagos make more money than the entire traders in Main market Onitsha?
Funny enough these tech companies will occupy less land mass if brought together compared to Main Market Onitsha.
Trade is still good, trade is very key. But there are other areas like the corporate world (formal economy) and tech that we also have a comparative advantage in, let's explore that part of our strength and generate more revenue.
Onitsha can still evolve trade and not tightly grasp the past. Onitsha can build clusters of smart markets like this to modernize trading.
abuzz33: Economic complexity is not buying and selling like Alaba. Its manufacturing, engineering, sophisticated retail. GLO does 700 billion in revenue a year. They hire engineers, accountants, marketers, a wide array of professionals. Alaba is traders and sales girls and boys.
The SE has let its self down by playing to the Alaba model of economic activity. Primitive retailing. But there cannot be a high street when people are selling in barrows or in primitive 10x10 shops. It's why university graduates flee the region in droves.
Do the economic calculation of modern vs primitive. A properly designed retail outlet requires cement, paint, furniture, electricity, computers, TV, cleaners, trained staff with uniforms, signage. A wheelbarrow requires only a wheelbarrow.
You say that Anambra has nice houses in rural areas. Why didn't their owners build just basic huts with no electricity, electrical fixtures, interlocking stones, fancy gates etc. Is a house not a house?
If SE want better cities its not going to come from primitive markets as the centre of activity. It requires properly managed business districts that draw in sophisticated businesses. Look at the disgraceful state of Zik Avenue with Eke Awka, Eastern mass all turning it to agbero haven.
ebufa: I agree 100% but governments have to drive the process! There is something about town planning that seems to defy the typical Nigerian civil servants intellectual capacity........to them town planning does not exceed forming taskforces to demolish illegal construction and puruing street hawkers.......most west african cities are a visual disasters especially the anglophone cities
Ikamandoncome: But maduka kinsmen are still using it to fight him and rejecting to have treatment or allow the hospital start operation because they believe he's an OSU.
FOr me that's irrelevant so is their opinion.
They can't stop him from employing people, if they don't want to work for an Osu, fine, he should employ others
That talk is useless caus they did not dash him money to build. Na him dey even take them serious Ignotre them like they never existed and do ur thign
Ofodirinwa: Strongly disagree with this. If we're not being hyperbolic (which we tend to be anyways), the level of development in SE Nigeria is highest in Africa across that wide an area. There are pockets that surpass it but all of those pockets are cities. You will not find anywhere in Africa where this many people are in this condition. We are not where we want to be, but we have done things that are not done anywhere else on the continent. Developing one area doesn't work. It leads to sluming and wealth disaparity. Nigeria cannot handle wealth imbalance because the rich people will inevitably take their wealth and leave as has been the case for decades.
A rich man from Osun who makes his money in Lagos will send his children to the UK. Osun will not be a part of his life plan because the development in the SW is in Lagos. Why we want that for ourselves is beyond me. Meanwhile, Igbos have loyalty to their hometown and if we lose that, we lose everything.
We have developed a model that is working but the grass will perpetually be greener in many of our brains. That is why boys are dying to sneak into Congo as we speak.
No, certainly SE has better rural towns that any state in Nigeria, estpecially Anambra (I say that with every sense of responsibility). If it is that one we are doing well.
But it is time we create CBDs in major towns in SE. This CBDs will create an economic ecosystem like what you have in most central cities in Europe and America and even Lagos.
Companies like to do business where they can easily get access to B2B services without travelling kilometers to another city/town to access itt.
We are doing well building our towns with good houses. But for companies, industries and comercial areas. We need to build CBDs in major towns in SE. So that iw will encourage investors to chose to invest there.
It is the most effective way to reduce unemployment in the shortest possible time.
If that Maduka building was in Awka or Onitsha, I tell u, if he was not ready to complete it, someone might be interested to lease it for something else until when he may be ready. But as it is that village now, who will want to go and lease that kind of building in a rural area?
Need I mention also that will improve the aesthetics of our cities and also encourage many to want to toe the same line and even build better ones. I trust how our people like competitions.
Moreover, it is easy to convince people to work in CBDs/Towns and cities than in rural areas. I know how many jobs I turned down cause of the location. Yes for a medical research institute and maybe manufacturing, it may not matter cause people usually live within a research institute and factories. But not for some other sectors, it does.
WE NEED CBDs that's my point. ONITSHAA, AWKA, OWERRI, NNEWI, ABA, ABAKILIKI, ENUGU, ETC. THEY NEED CBDs.
M.I Okpara knows this and Sam Mbakwe too, they planned most of this our citites to have one. But we have disregarded the plan
AN IGBO MAN IS ENTITLED TO BUILT WHAT EVER STRUCFTURE HE LIKES ON HIS LAND, PROVIDED HE GETS PERMISSION AND USE QUALITY MATERIAL AND ENGINEER TO MAKE IT SAFE.
IT IS THIS YOUR MENTALITY, THAT MADE OUR PEOPLE PLANT THIER LIFE IN LAGOS, KANO AND ABUJA.
WE DONT WANT THAT ANYMORE.
AKU LUO UNO
That is where you are making a mistake. We can't develop SE/Anambra by scattering development here and there.
Concentrated development gets effective results to result in the most shortest time. If everyone develops their village, it will take decades for SE to develop. That is where we get it wrong.
baretalk: Now I see you people are dumb. I'd you are into car production you can get parts from all over and assemble here. You Ipobians heads are flat so your brain matter is not complete. My point is any nation will avoid importing things it can adequately produce or have, or things that are not really needed, of course if it's needed or important and we can't produce it we import. Your problems are half education, I will stop arguing with you people, seems you people are really dumb, the other Ipobian the last time we were debating dey show me bank receipts
Peter can't win, he is dumb. Of course we will allow car components because it pays us to assemble cars here rather than importing the entire cars, please stop arguing like kids, think before you argue, and stop making me repeat myself. Import restrictions are important on stuff we can produce and have the ability to produce, and on things we don't need, to reduce capital flight and plunging of our currency. Seems you people don't know the meaning of restrictions, restrictions means limiting. We need to limit what we import, and import those things we have no comparative advantage producing, or things we need that we don't have, and avoid importing basic things we can produce, like rice, basic food stuffs and other stuff we can adequately produce. Luxury cars etc, and goods, should have a high import tax rate on them, this is also an import control or restriction measure.
SHut up ode.
What raw material does Niegeria have to aid production??
Even US still imports chips from Taiwan. U wan to produce and u don't want to allow importation of needed raw material??
