Hi guys no hard feelings, Asa's new album sure rocks, she is a Nigerian International songstress therefore her music must have world appeal just like King Sunny Ade, Femi Kuti, Salif Kaita and Y'sun of Senegal. listen to all the tracks on the album and you'll come to appreciate it, AsA is good, she one of the few musicians from this part that can play musical instrument!! |
Hi guys i would also love to have an update on relocating to Benin republic! |
I had to do this in order to debunk the judgmental insinuations of some who never though that God can use mankind in diverse ways, Bob was actually a Prophet of God who miss used some of the opportunities that was given to him by the Almighty but was quick enough to reconcile with his creator shortly before dying! |
Twenty nine years ago,the world lost the man who had been described as the "first Third World superstar". The Hon. Robert Nesta Marley O.M. died on 11th May 1981 in a Miami hospital after an 8 month battle with cancer. He was 36. To the masses he was known as Bob Marley - the man who brought them reggae and Rastafarianism. His was the voice of classics like "No Woman No Cry" recorded live at the London Lyceum Ballroom in 1975. However, what most people don't know, and many try to cover up, is the fact that Bob Marley converted to Christianity in 1980. In fact on 4 November 1980 he was baptized and became a member of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. When he was buried under Orthodox rites on 21st May 1981 it was with his Bible and his Gibson guitar! Bob Marley was born at Nine Miles, St Ann's in Jamaica. His father was Norval Sinclair Marley, a 50 something Liverpool born captain in the British Army. His mother, an 18 year old teenager, was Cedella Booker. His birthday is thought to be 6th February 1945 although no birth certificate has ever been found. His mum, and his grandparents, read the Bible at home and worshiped in a Christian church. Bob Marley strayed away from that upbringing as a teenager and as an adult embraced Rastafarianism. He married Alpharita Anderson (Rita)in February 1966 and while he was away in the USA earning some money to pursue his musical career she converted to Rastafarianism following the visit to Jamaica of Haile Selassie I, Emperor of Ethiopia. Rastafarians worshiped Selassie as the Messiah and Savior. Bob followed suite and spent his career exposing the beliefs of Rastafari in songs like "One Love", "Jammin'" and "Exodus". The worship of Selassie is a little ironic as Selassie was a Christian and in the 1970's personally commissioned Archbishop Abuna Yesehaq to go to Jamaica to start a church that worshiped Christ and not himself in the hope that Jamaicans would follow the true Christ. Yesehaq became the head of the Kingston chapter of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. The Jamaicans.com website says that Bob remained outside the church for several years after Rita and the children converted in 1972. Bob was under the spiritual guidance of the archbishop but was baptised just a year before his death, after 3 aborted attempts to convert in Kingston. He backed out each time, says the Archbishop, after being threatened by other rastas. Marley was finally baptized in the Ethiopian Church in New York where less resentments were less inflamed. The Archbishop christened him Berhane Selassie - "light of the Trinity". Judy Mowatt, one of Marley's backing singers the "I-Threes", which also included his wife Rita Marley and Marcia Griffiths, sang with Bob for years and told British journalist and broadcaster Mike Rimmer in an interview that was published in Christian Herald in March 2005 of a phonecall she received from Rita when Bob was dying. "She said to me that Bob was in such excruciating pain and he stretched out his hand and said 'Jesus take me'. I was wondering to myself 'Why is it that Bob said 'Jesus' and not 'Selassie'? But I never said it to anyone. Then I met a friend whose sister is a Christian and was a nurse at the hospital where Bob was treated and she had led him to the Lord Jesus Christ. So when Rita saw him saying 'Jesus take me', I now know it was after he had received the Lord Jesus Christ in his life." |
I used to think I was the only one that noticed, however our dear first lady should take a break and learn at least basic English, it will help her cos she will be meeting with prominent people in the future and it would not be right for her to shame the largest black nation on the face of the earth! |
In my opinion I don't have any personal grudges against IBB, he is a Nigerian and is qualified to vie for any elective post. But I guess the real reason for the outcry bordered on his involvement in the annulment of the 2010 June 12 election, the Dele Giwa killing and the Gulf war oil windfall just to mention a few, IBB would have been the greatest and best leader Nigeria ever had if not for the avoidable mistakes he made, now his past is just haunting him! |
ur guess is as good as mine!! |

It is an expensive furnished apartments with almost 0 degree air cool atmosphere, they also discourse business and play games it's like a relaxation center where every one is not invited but for a clique, the place is highly secured, now do not ask me how I got to know cos I will not tell. this is just to let u know that some of our important personalities also smoke the weed so lets not fight about it. ![]() |
Nigeria has never in any time been one and can never be one no matter how we continue to patch, lets stop deceiving ourselves at least the latest terrorist attacks on Christians by the Fulani heard men in Jos is a strong proof, the country is simply a mistake on thew part of the British that amalgamated the region for their selfish gains , the late Obafemi Awolowo called it a geographical experiment and that is what it is. |
talking about relevancy, we know that lots of musicians make money with all kinds of lyrical arangement but what we talk about here is how these lyrics affect the leasteners. Terry G got it with "Free madness" but how is the lyrical contents of "free madness" relevant to our societies. |
the issue is not whether it is possible for Yar'adua to be healed, of course he can be healed if only he believes but his religious pride and dogma which is rooted in Islamic fundamentalism would not allow him and even if he tries it, his life may be in danger cos his fellow Muslim may finally kill him for accepting to be healed by a Christian. |
I like the pastor, his teachings are unique, practical Christianity for today's living. |
Bross forget this ur talk, nothing will happen even if u try without the enebling environment, if u like bring world bank come Nigeria, d greedy politicians will kill ur dream with corruption, the best thing is for us to disintegrate, let every region go their separate |
Pls sum one link me to Turai, I understand that she needs a man since yar adua has stoped performing since 2003. |
Let us for once tell ourselves the truth, there is disunity in the country and the different leaders representing their regions do not trust themselves. I believe that the practical thing is to convene a sovereign national conference, a round table discussion where everybody will make their opinions and grievances known, it would also be an opportunity for the people to determine the conditions for co existence. If its agreed that the nation should disintegrate, then so be it. |
ebi like say u just dey wake up from sleep, swaga like u |
