VO: Accra

We started this journey in 2015. We knew about the Express Entry programme as soon as it started because we got information from Hubby’s friend. I wrote IELTS and did my ECA in 2016 and entered the pool but my marks were too low. I had a lot of options of improving my marks which included getting either another diploma to add to my degree or a Masters. My hubby could not be considered due to his age.
I decided it was better to go school in Canada. So I applied for visa to study in 2016 and was denied in August 2016. I also did again in 2017 and was refused in August 2017 and was refused the second time. To make matters worse, I discovered I was pregnant with baby no 3. Chai, It was not in the plan at all. Baby no 3 was supposed to wait till I got to Canada but no, he had to come then (POF increases again). In 2017 I learnt about Expression of interest in Manitoba and I dropped my application. Miraculously I got a phone number of a long lost cousin who already resides there. From the beginning, my target had always been Manitoba. I and my hubby seemed to have a lot of family and friends in Manitoba so provincial nomination was okay for us.

In 2018 January, I got an LAA to apply for Manitoba and in May 2018, I got nomination, before I could say Jack Robinson, my IELTS expired. I had to register for another one and got my report in July (I had done my Medicals in June). I created another profile and got ITA in July 25, 2018 and submitted on August 9, 2019 (Remember all my refusals came in August, now my AOR was August.

POF was jointly supplied by I and Hubby savings, My Mummy, and My Sister. You see this my Mummy is someone that I can’t stop appreciating. After singe handedly bringing me up and seeing me through school, she still stood by me in fulfilling my dreams. Na real . My one and only sister, I kept calling her when I get broke and discouraged. My hubby was the real MVP cos my application went to Accra, when I heard that, I was shaking wondering who I offended for my file to land there. He was always encouraging me telling me we will laugh last.

After AOR, the wait began and I waiteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddd and no movement was done on my file until I got an ADR IN March 12, for some documents. Then another wait began. Accra woke up and started dishing out PPRs in April. I waiteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddddddd again. There was a guy I guided through the MPNP programme whose AOR is December, yet he got PPR before me. Every day I keep checking my profile. While waiting I got worried, so much that my blood pressure rose (Note that my blood pressure was always normal even in pregnancy.) When I got so agitated, I decided I would give back.

So in April 2019, I started writing a book to simplify the express entry process pouring my heart into the book as I waited on the manifestation of my PPR. I was in Chapter 4 when PPR came, now the issue I have is how I have to travel before June ending, cos medicals will expire shortly. Do they really extend medical expiry by one month?

Thanks to everyone on Nairaland, Accra VO Whatsapp group, August AOR Group, 2018 ITA Group. You guys rocked. I’ve met a lot of friends and banter on all the groups were a source of encouragement. If I start mentioning names, I might leave out some people. Thanks everyone, we will meet in Canada.

Guys does the 'how to find a job in Canada' email have anything to do with the visa office your application is sent to? I got the email immediately I created my profile before I even got ITA.

Also after submission on the 8th of October I got an Acknowledgement of Receipt email. I'm not sure it's the same AOR because from people's timelines it seems to come weeks after submission

ITA is the day you get invited to apply. While AOR is gotten the day you submit so that why it comes weeks after ITA in people timelines.

Hello everyone. A silent observer here since 2016. I need a clarification please. At what stage of the PR process (from AOR to PPR) does one observe a change in the UCI (from CAN XXXX... to a UCI number) and also former biometric details uploaded?

After your Medical is passed or when u get biometrics letter.

NO 1 is the best option. Of course VO's are not dumb. They know the wife will also be going.
playee77:
Good morning Cannylanders.
Which of these options do you think is better? The hubby is the PA, however, about 60% of the POF is coming from the Father-in-law (Wife's Dad).
Which of these is the most preferable method to transfer and document the money?
1. Transfer the money directly to his son-in-law's account (that has the remaining 40% POF) and do a gift deed to him? (Stating in the gift deed that he is supporting his daughter and her husband with this so so amount.) OR
2. Transfer the money to his daughter (wife) who writes a letter of consent (stating that her hubby has full access to the money) plus the gift deed from the father. OR
2. Transfer the money to his daughter (wife) who then in turn transfer to her hubby's account (PA) supporting it with gift deed from her father and an LOE explaining the transfer to the husband.

I suggested the first option, because it looks less complicated and very straightforward. However, the couple is concerned that, the relationship might seem too long (i.e Father to Son-In-Law) to drop such cash.

Please elders weigh in on this.
Thank you.

A big congratulations. I key into this fast timeline oh.
masrapido:
You guys were right!!! You were so right!!!

IT'S PPR!!!!!

I can't believe it. I have been screaming round my house since I saw the mail. After all the BP spikes and chest pain, here we are. Thanks to everyone who calmed me down yesterday. Please find my timeline below.

ITA - March 26
AOR - June 13
MEP/IP1 - June 27
IP2/ADR for spouse's Schedule A - August 3
1st Ghost update - August 15
2nd Ghost update - September 4
PPR - September 5

My journey started in 2016 when I decided to apply for EE using an agent. Wrote IELTS in September 2016, got my ECA and dived in. I had to reject the first ITA because I found out that my agent had made some 'modifications' to my work history, and wanted me to get my former employers to tweak things to that effect. The second ITA timed out due to POF issues. After that, I lost interest and decided to continue with my academics instead. By December 2017, my brother became a PR and I realized that I could get back the points I had lost due to having a birthday. Add to that the prospect of a wasted IELTS, I decided to give EE another go. And the rest, as they say, is history. I got ITA two weeks before my birthday at a CRS score of 451. Cut-off for that draw was 446, exactly 5 points below my score.

POF was my (accompanying) spouse's employee savings, the letter was not in any particular format but stated the current balance and how long he had been saving. I included his work history in the application since I knew our POF was somewhat tied to his job, so we had to get letters from his supervisors as well.

It's been a long and challenging journey - for all of us - but I know that our rest is near. To my fellow June AORs, thanks for the encouragement, you all are next in line.

Cheers. ~dances out with serious Niger Delta waist shaking~

It is possible to click yes to Educational history and click NO for ECA. Go back and read his post, he never said he clicked yes to ECA.
efueh:

Is it that you didn't fill in any number under spouse ECA you ticked YES to? If so, how was the application submitted successfully without an ECA number, I am asking this, because you said you ticked yes to her ECA and your CRS is 451 and after completion, it will increase to 459. I am lost here. Or was it that by your initial action, there was no point for her ECA to your scores?
You need to explain better, so that you can be advised accordingly.

Why this advice, when i filled my own i claimed my spouse has a higher educatin but chose that he doesnt have ECA (that means it was not evaluated). By the time i got ITA there was still the space for spouse's educational document and i put his certificates.

Lets try to understand people before advising decline. If he didnt fill any ECA number pre ITA Aand didnt get marks for ECA. It is not MISREPRESENTATION.

stonecoldcafe:

Please please please and please again kindly decline this ITA. The wait post submission can sometimes be draining coupled with the fact that someone will be thinking and thinking "what if, what if" IT IS NOT WORTH IT!

On this thread, we have been advised time and time again not to inpute false information for ECA or IELTS reference numbers in other to land ITA. You were advised wrongly sir so decline.

Give yourself peace of mind. 5th of September to 21st September is too short. Better to wait...

There are two questions on express entry
1. Does your SPOUSE have a post secondary degree?
2. Was it evaluated by any authorized evealuation body?

If your answer to question 2 was NO, then there is no need to attach her ECA post ITA. I F your answer was yes then thats the misrepresentation. if you only answered yes to question 1 then upload her BSC certificate alone.

stevo2016:
Thanks guys, someone said it doesn't matter since I will be able to upload her ECA number and result at the end of the day. I chose 'Yes' under her educational history because ECA is due for completion by 21st of September. Is this still equivalent to misrepresentation, and besides with her ECA, our score would increase from 451 to 459.Thanks.

Congrats on your nomination. I was nominated by Manitoba too. Processing time cannotb be confirmed. Ranges from 19 to 200 days and longer in some extreme case.

Your plan for medical and PCC is perfect. For the documents I personally got it readdressed because I feel it is not professional to address any letter to a body with another body's address on it.

It is better you address to IRCC or To whom it may concern than sending a letter addressed to someone o another person. Its like writing a love letter to Tosinn and address it to Rukayat. No be gbege be that grin

Madekay:
Hi Everyone,
As I prepare for ITA on the 5the of Sept
What’s the processing time for PNP applicants in CIC stage as I recieved nomination from Manitoba

I booked for medicals in Qlife for Sept 14 as that’s the next available date

Am waiting for ITA before PCC as I have FBI police clearance and Uk police clearance

Most of my documents were written to Manitoba do I have to get new docs addressed to CIC or submit the Manitoba own like that?

Thanks in advance

There is no one size fits all though...many have done Ielts first and still got their ECA done in time for an ITA

That's true. Especially if you have everything complete to enter the pool. Just giving an advice.

I just thought to say anyone who wants to start the express entry process should start with ECA first and should not do ielts until their ECA is ready or almmost ready. I see a lot of peple registering for ielts first and i shake my head. I did my ECA in 2015 and ielts in 2016, by the time i got eligible to get ITA, My ielts expired just before the next ITA and i had to redo it but my ECA didnt expire.

Let ECA be the first thing you do before ielts.

Take your mind off it and check once in a while. This is not my own first time of deaing with IRCC. Imagine me submitting application for study visa in march for an august 11 admission and they didnt reply me until August 30 after the school has declared my admission void. At least iit was a refusal sha. After AOR I havent checked my account since Friday i check once in two to three days. I know they will work on it but dont want to sweat it jare.
.
Reasonabledoubt:
It’s just 4days after AOR, and I’ve been logging signing into my account to check for update more than once a day.

How did you people stay sane o? I’ve read the suggestions here, but it doesn’t seem to be working.

I don’t know how to handle this obsession.

God help me.

Why sound so angry? Congratulating others is not related to shit in anyway. Rejoicing with others shouldn't be classed in such a dirty language. Don't worry yours too will come and whether u like it or not I will post " Shitty Congratulations" to you to spam the thread further. Please I can't deal with such level of negativity and hatred for good things. Haba.

Itsawonder:

So you could spam the thread with silly "congratulations" messages?
As much as we're happy for all successful applicants, a like/share is enough to express this happiness. Unless you have a follow-up question to the shared "testimony", stop spamming the thread with shitty congratulations messages.
