centje: you can discuss with a professional artist around, so you can reproduce his works, and in the process learn. That way you wont waste your canvas,if that's one of your fears.

actually, the fear is that I won't be able to become the expert painter I'd love to be, whether I waste canvas or not

I made artworks with pencil,pen and poster colour for most part from childhood up to most part of my university...
I just started learning how to create with oil paint. It's very interesting but challenging,buh someone and begining to understand how this oil paint works.

One of the most difficult paint to use is water colour(poster colour),so dont be discouraged,with time you will understand how it works. i have mastered how to use it to some extent just by practicing with it...doing trial and error.
You can try your hands on oil paint but the problem is that its expensive unlike water colour.

I could easily get oil paint. I'm just too unsure to try. Can't use oil paint on cardboard. Can't waste canvas either.

Join us in the 'for the love of art thread'. you can work with any media. For now am using oil paint cause i want to improve on my use of oil paint,i will try other media later on.

hehehe... I'm just an ordinary learner. My first taste of real painting was with poster colour. Disliked it, so sort of stuck with drawing.

Any media? I'm free to use ink or coloured pencils, right? I'm more comfortable with a pencil or pen than with a brush.

Think of a law court when a suspect is tried, found guilty and then sentenced/condemned. That is the meaning of condemn in this context and that's exactly what you guys are doing.

Condemnation is not restricted to sentencing someone in a lawcourt. If you express strong disapproval of someone/something, it's condemnation. That is what they did on this thread. Funny enough, you did the same to them.

Condemning them for condemning pastors doesn't make you better really. It's the same condemnation.
