Seun: That is contrary to our policy. Our policy is to ban the people who break the rules rather than to lock a thread because people broke the rules on it. Did you ban any of the individuals who broke the rules?I banned one or two people. Its ok, I will unlock the thread. |
Seun: Why was this thread closed?Because the thread was degenerating to e-fighting, name-calling and exchange of insults and I know thorough investigation to the alleged threat cannot be carried out on the pages of Nairaland, hence my advice for the OP to report the allegation to security officials. |
@OP I am sorry about your lack of hope or trust in Nigerian security officials but I locked the said thread because I know thorough investigation to the alleged threat cannot be carried out on the pages of Nairaland, cramjones might have to use other means of investigation if he also has no trust in Nigerian security officials. Also no one stops cramjones from opening new threads to share whatever information he has to share with NL community, new information doesn't have to be shared on the threat allegation thread. I am hereby locking this thread cos it serves no purpose other than e-fighting, name-calling and exchange of insults. Please do not open another one. Cheers. |
We will advise OP to forward his allegation of threat to security personnel for investigation. On this note, the thread is hereby closed while wishing everyone a save year. |
To the best of my knowledge you can if it is a Manager's Cheque and you have a dollar domiciliary account in any of the banks in Nigeria, but be ready to explain the source and purpose of the money. Any amount from $10k upward is subject to money laundry act. |
corruptst: Your failure will b legendaryAnd he could end up as one of the most successful presidents. Dreams do come true for those who dare to pursue it. @OP Its a good dream, tall one, but very possible and achievable. |
Seun: Happy new year bro. Thanks for your good work. Thanks Admin! Thanks everyone! Enough of Amalgamation, Biafra and State of origin/residence discussion for now. Lets focus our discussion on Politics Section in 2014. I welcome your your suggestions, ideas of what you want see in this section this year, things you want us to watch out for, and mistakes to avoid as we go into this critical political year |
On behalf of Politics Moderators and Management of Nairaland, I welcome every member of this section to the year 2014. I wish everyone a happy, dream-fulfilling and joyful year. Last year was quite an interesting year; we had lots of healthy and robust debates on hundreds of our threads; many heated arguments/debates and some not so heated but interesting and educative as well. Many threads from this section than any section made the home page. At the end, due to your active participations, this section remained the most active section of Nairaland last year. For this I thank every one of you, those of you who found the time to create threads, those of you who posted and those of you who read and liked posts. Thank you! Last year, our monthly debate was rested because management believe that every thread should be a debate of its own and we really do not need few people as judges to declare winners, but that every reader should decide who his/her winner is in every debate. However this year, I am looking forward to a weekly or bi-weekly members-organized Dialogue, where burning national issue and questions for the period can be raised for members to actively discuss. Let’s discuss this. Also last year, we renewed our fight against “tribalism/bigotry”, especially with the coming on board of Ikenna351 and Sexkillz, it was a tough battle with many ‘casualties’, but the battle was worthwhile. I am not under any illusion that the battle is totally won yet, but am sure the point was clearly made that Nairaland will not condone tribalism/bigotry any more. This year we will continue with the fight. I overlooked a number of bigot-posters towards the end of last year because I didn’t want to ban people going into the New year, but the holiday is over now and we will no longer spare the rod. Am sure many of you will agree with me that politically, 2014 will be an Interesting year: What will be the outcome of mass defection of PDP members to APC? How far will the National Conference/Dialogue go? Who replaces Sanusi Lamido Sanusi at CBN? Will GEJ change his cabinet members? Who will win the elections in Osun and Ekiti State billed for 2014? Who are the people that will be the flag bearers of PDP, APC and other parties both at the State and Federal level? All these questions and many more will be answered this year 2014. In view of this, Politics section of Nairaland will be well positioned to actively participate in all the political happenings of 2014. I welcome your analysis, opinions, robust debates and arguments on all matters that will be raised this year. It is no longer a secret that government officials, political parties and national newspapers monitor discussions on this forum as a gauge of public opinions. On our part as moderators, we will be very professional and give adequate coverage and moderation to all the parties. But note that we do not create political stories and events; it will not be the fault of moderators if a political party has more political stories and events than others in national discourse, but we will endeavor to be fair and cover all that should be covered. Remember to always make use of the complaints/suggestion thread to recommend topics for home page. Please kindly post on this thread your suggestions, ideas of what you want see in this section this year, things you want us to watch out for, and mistakes to avoid as we go into this critical political year in the history of Nigeria. We want to make sure that Nairaland community makes an adequate impact during this political dispensation. Once again, happy new year! Cheers! |

pokur: I get n quite respect ur point,it's the same everywhere even England till they passed a new law of recent giving male n female royals equal status. What really irked me are posters haughtily using the word "never",as if we don't have recent n living examples that clearly refute their claim.I understand there are excemptions here and there but I used 'Never' with reference to the throne of Deji of Akure, Mrs Adesida-Dike and her children. Take it from me, with the reality on the ground of the present Akure, no waiver will make her sons heirs to the throne of Deji of Akure. Am sure she and her children know it. There are just too many pure royal sons to be considered now and in many decades to come than to consider a waiver for her sons: Their father is not from a royal family, not from Akure, worse still not from Yorubaland. I know because I lived in Akure for some years and at a time in a serious relationship with a Princess of Akure. |
pokur: Never say never. When Oba Oyekan died, his first son contested for the Obaship of Lagos,by right of his mother's house,Akinsemoyin. He lost, but he was considered still. All applications will be looked into but know for sure that the Kingmakers know who they are looking for. Except by some clear and undisputed "divine pronouncements" or absence of any royal sons from the next Ruling family, or political powers interference, the kingmakers will not approve such application. |
ak47mann: Am telling you now the product of Adetutu Adesida and Mr Dike will likely become the next OBA after the rein of the new regent.Lol, let me make it simpler for you. Like many said, she is Adele-Oba (One who holds the throne in wait) not Oba. She will NEVER become Oba not now and not in the future. Princess are never crowned, only Princes are made kings in Akure. Her children are Princes and Princess of Akure no doubt because they have royal blood but they will NEVER become Oba (Deji) of Akure. Not because she married an Igbo man but because Kings are not picked from royal daughters but from Royal Sons. |
^But Fredoo and I are already shitting on you in h2h. Remind me again, were you in 2nd or 3rd position 3weeks ago? And what is your position in h2h now? ![]() |
Thanks OP. Handled. Please make use of the complaints thread instead of opening a thread for every complaint. Cheers. |
Thank you very Mutch!
You can say that again! Had Mutch on my bench, and he has wiped away my sorrow of not having Rooney and Ozil playing. How I wish Clyne didn't come in to play for 3mins, I have an Hull defender with 6 points on the bench. But having 62 to my opponent's 29, I cant complain too much. Erm...erm.. I hope Librans FC is not Mukina2's team again, I didn't expect to overtake her in FA Cup till the January ending that I gave her, but looks like I will cross the year on top of her in FA... better beg Fredooo to take you to Awon Iya make dem wash your head and your team, I will so flog that your big yansh if I overtake you in the main league too next year.... you were more than 100pts ahead of me just 3 weeks ago and now the gap is just a lil above 30. Abeg Fredooo carry your girlfriend and her team go meet Awon Iya for prayers ![]() |
