AdisaOwala is really on point with the Formation he proposed, same with the selection of Players he lined up for it! How I wish Jose Mourinho could accidentally visit this Thread and fortunately get the best way to fix United.

We have the players who can excellently adapt well to the formation and play it satisfactorily. That was exactly my thought after seeing the Lineup. I thought JM wanted to play a four-man Midfield of Carrick at the Base, Pogba on the Left, Herrera on the right, and Mata on the Crown - then paring Ibra and Rashford upfront.

I hope he can try out the Formation against Burnley Tomorrow!

Why not? Apart from Mhki and those injured this should be our strongest team on paper. The midfield is what we have been asking for right? Smalling was directly involved in almost all goals conceded last weekend so he needs time out.

Nowadays though I just watch our match to observe what the manager is doing differently or what is the new thing/tactics/pattern he is bringing to the team. This to me is more important than the result right now.
Are you watching the Match?! How are the Lads performing?! Any hope for the Haterz to have a Party here tonight?!

All I care about is to see Mkhitaryan in the Lineup - whether fit or not!

Also Schleiderlin should be given a chance to prove himself. He has spent too much time on the Bench, I pray he still thinks football!

Jose Mourinho has said it all, only if the Press can get the meaning, on Pogba! That Dude will never play 10 for United again under JM.

Finally, we do not need to loan or buy Toure, instead JM should recall Schweinsteiger back to the Team.

"We know that on many occasions that the penalty shoot-out can be a lottery, because it can depend on whether we’re on form as keepers or whether the takers strike the ball well or fluff their shots. You have days when it all goes right for you and you’re on top form, like he was on that day, where his reactions were great and he made some top saves.

"All I would like to do for the moment is to be on the pitch and be able to help out my team-mates where I’m able to. If anything like that were to come about, then yes, I’d certainly welcome it, but if it doesn’t, like I say, just being a part of things and playing and doing my bit so that the lads can achieve the right result is the most important thing here.

"Currently it’s my turn to be on the sidelines and I’m helping all I can from there. But it’s natural that you’re keen to play and do more for the cause from within the side as it were, and then you can be doing something active and helping the group."

"He has been signed for such a huge fee and I look at him and it was a difficult day for him. It was difficult for him at times at Anfield as a No. 10 so, at the moment, I think Jose Mourinho is trying to find a way to incorporate him and when you sign a player for that level of money, you somehow have to make it fit.

"I think one of the things that was different for United compared to Monday night [against Liverpool] was they had control in the midfield, with Fellaini and Herrera alongside each other," he added.

"Fellaini played so high in the game today. I am not sure if that was something he was told to do, but it just didn't work. It meant he was detached from Herrera, who seemed to be exposed, and for United it was not a good 45 minutes.

"I know Fellaini has had a lot of stick over the last couple of seasons with people saying he is not a Manchester United player, and it is obvious to see his lack of quality in certain areas, but I thought today he was really poor.

"In the first half he had a really terrible game and it was no surprise he came off, and I think Herrera dropped a level after being brilliant at Anfield.

"There will be a massive over-reaction to the game, Jose Mourinho will come under huge pressure and it will be ramped up ahead of the derby on Wednesday.

"When you are a Manchester United fan for 30 years, for 50 years, you are going to have difficult times like these and you have to accept when they come along and be mature about it.

"They have got a fantastic manager who has been proven in every league in Europe nearly, and they have to allow him to do his job methodically over the next two to three years, get it right.

"There has been some poor management, some poor recruitment decisions and there have been players signed who are not Manchester United players. I am not talking about talent, I am talking about profile.

"Pogba and [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic are more Manchester United players in my mind in terms of personality and the physical aspect, so I do think ultimately Mourinho is on the right track in terms of recruitment.

"They have got to continue to do that and they have got to move away some of the previous, which will be difficult because they are on big contracts, but he doesn't panic in the transfer market."

RASHFORD DREAMS OF CITY GOAL AT HOME

Manchester United starlet Marcus Rashford might have an opportunity to score his "dream goal" when local neighbours and rivals Manchester City visit Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

The 18-year-old forward has scored 12 goals in his meteoric Reds career and that burgeoning tally includes a memorable winner in last season’s Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium.

However, while that finish is an unquestionable highlight of his short time in senior football, our Academy graduate longs to replicate that feeling on home soil against the blue-shirted foes.

Asked to name his dream goal in this month’s edition of Inside United magazine, Rashford says: "It would be a home goal against City, definitely! Scoring away was a massive moment as well for me, so I can only imagine what a home goal would be like."

Rashford's excellent finish against City last season was later nominated for the club's Goal Of The Season award and the scorer understandably has fond memories of the experience. "The game was quite an even one so it could have gone either way," Marcus explains in a wide-ranging interview.

“We were attacking and then they were attacking. They had a bit more of the ball but they weren’t really threatening us. There were two times before when I got on a one-v-one with him [Martin Demichelis] and he just nicked the ball off me. I knew what I needed to do the next time I got the ball so I did it.

“Then I was against the keeper [Joe Hart] and it was just about relaxing, composing myself and that was what I did. After it went in, the fans were too far away but it was a good feeling with everyone coming towards you. To win the game 1-0 as well, to hold out as a team was a good feeling.”

After scoring as a substitute at Northampton Town in the previous round of the EFL Cup, Rashford hopes to start against City as the Reds bid to reach the fifth round of the competition.

TALKING POINTS: UNITED V CITY IN EFL CUP

The Manchester derby is always preceded by a concoction of talking points and this week is no different, with United and City preparing to square off in the EFL Cup. Here are five of the key topics and sub-plots that will underpin Wednesday’s Old Trafford blockbuster...

1: A STAGE TO BOUNCE BACK

Sunday's 4-0 defeat to Chelsea means United are now without a Premier League win in three matches, following the draws with Stoke City (1-1) and Liverpool (0-0). Jose Mourinho was particularly disappointed by the one-sided nature of the loss at Stamford Bridge and a positive result against City in the cup would help remedy that feeling, especially after losing the previous derby on 10 September.

Similarly, despite an impressive start to the season, City have not won in five matches across all competitions and the Blues would love a victory at Old Trafford to halt what has become an alarming run of results. Pep Guardiola's team also suffered a chastening 4-0 defeat of their own last Wednesday when they were comfortably dismantled by Barcelona at Camp Nou in the Champions League. Rarely have both teams headed into a derby in such wayward, inconsistent form.

2: TEAM SELECTION: GO STRONG OR ROTATE?
Mourinho made nine changes to his starting XI for United’s 3-1 win at Northampton Town in the previous round, but the boss may be tempted to name his strongest team on Wednesday with the stakes so high. He has won the competition three times in his career (2005, 2007, 2015) and will be determined to knock a rival out of the competition at this early stage, with a place in the quarter-finals up for grabs.

Meanwhile, Guardiola also rotated his squad for City's third-round triumph against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, naming a handful of youngsters with the likes of David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero all watching from home. But what will the Catalan do at United? His choices will be fascinating.

3: BOTH TEAMS HAVE INJURIES
Eric Bailly is almost certainly unavailable for United after picking up a knee injury in the second half at Stamford Bridge, while Wayne Rooney is a question mark after missing that game with a muscle problem that he picked up in training last Friday. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, whose last game was the Manchester derby in September, is also working his way back to full fitness at the Aon Training Complex.

City are expected to be without star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, England international Fabian Delph and ex-Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna, while experienced campaigner Pablo Zabaleta remains a doubt.

4: EXTRA TIME AND PENALTIES
United and City have met on 172 previous occasions, but never before has a competitive match between the pair gone to extra time or penalties. That is a distinct possibility this week because all EFL Cup ties must be decided on the night. So if you’re heading to Old Trafford, or just watching on television around the world, you might want to prepare yourself for what could be a long and potentially dramatic evening.

5: BRING ON THE NOISE

There’s always a heightened atmosphere surrounding the Manchester derby, yet there is something uniquely special about a one-off cup tie beneath the glow of the Old Trafford floodlights and Wednesday’s match has the potential to live long in the memory – just like the 2010 League Cup semi-finals.

We can confirm that City will have 7,857 supporters in the away end, which will be the East Stand second tier on this occasion, and that will certainly contribute to the noise levels. It's set to be a lively night.

Hi everyone,

I’ll be honest: it’s been a tough day, with a final score that hurts, and this isn’t the best time to write these lines. Things got complicated since the first minute. By conceding an early goal the game we had in mind changed completely, and from that moment we weren’t able to come back. Chelsea had a much better start than us and we paid dearly for it.

But we must carry on. Luckily, in three days we have a very important fixture, and as from now we must focus on this new opportunity to get better. It sounds like a cliché but it’s true: when we win and everybody praises you it’s easy to be united and celebrate together, but it is now, after such a defeat, when we must remain mentally strong and keep going. Together we win and together we lose.

Thank you so much to the fans that came to London, you didn’t stop cheering us on through the 90 minutes, even when things became so difficult, you guys are amazing; and also to the Chelsea fans, for they always show me their respect and affection.

We hope to give you the win that you deserve this coming Wednesday.

Hugs,

Juan

"It was a tough afternoon, a very painful result. Obviously we were thinking about a different kind of game and it started badly with the first goal in the first minute. After that we tried to create, we tried to score goals, but I think when we were in our best moment we conceded the second goal. It was one of those difficult days but we have to keep going.

"That's football and that's the way it is. Today we feel bad, but we have a game in three days and if we win that game we will feel completely opposite. You have to be stable in your mind and keep working hard.

It was a very, very early goal and it made the game very difficult for us from that moment, but we still had 89 minutes to try to score and we didn't. It's not the time to think about these kinds of mistakes.

"It's time to think about keeping the team together, being strong in our mind and face the next game, which is a very important game in these conditions.

"I thought we were in our best moment [after the second goal], playing in their half and trying to create something. We felt that we could do something after half-time and we had chances to score a goal.

"We felt the same after the third goal, we were playing in their half and trying to create and then we conceded on the counter-attack.

"They (Fans) kept going for 90 minutes. I say this every time I speak. They are incredible. We were losing 3-0, 4-0 and they were still supporting us. That's something that we feel and obviously when we win and enjoy good moments it's all for them because they deserve it."

MOURINHO'S VERDICT ON DEFEAT TO CHELSEA

THOUGHTS ON THE PERFORMANCE

"If you can delete the defensive mistakes from the game I would say it was a good performance. Class performance, good possession, using the ball well, creating chances, creating half chances, pushing the opposition to a defensive approach and I would say obviously a very, very, very unfair result. But we cannot delete the mistakes from the game and the first mistake happened after 30 seconds. Then we had a completely different game because Chelsea's best quality is playing counter-attacking football, and especially in the second half when we were very close to making it 2-1, they punished us on the counter-attack. When we were close to 3-1, they punished us on the counter-attack again, and we were close to 4-1 with Zlatan and Marcos Rojo's shots. Probably with a few more minutes they would score again. Everything went wrong from minute one. After that, everything was against us in the game."

STILL IN THE GAME AT HALF-TIME?

"I spoke with the players in a very honest way at half-time. I told them we had to try, because in the end, to lose 2-0 or 3-0, 4-0 or 5-0, in terms of points, it's the same. It's not the same in terms of feelings, but in terms of points it is the same. I was very honest with them and I told them that we have to try, and we are going to try, but we have a risk, because now this is what Chelsea wants. Chelsea wants to defend and then to go on the counter-attack. If we score, they are in trouble, but we have a risk, and then we had chances to score - we didn't - they go there, they score and they kill the game."

WOULD A RED CARD FOR DAVID LUIZ HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE?

"I know what you know. I know what everybody knows. Even when I was speaking to Sky, it was one of their questions, so we all know that. But in the end, it's the result that stays, and when you lose 4-0, to come and speak about the referee, it looks like you are trying to get excuses. I just hope that the press does the job in terms of analysing that situation but it's not for me to speak about."

UNITED FANS KEPT SINGING FOR 90 MINUTES

"They kept going for 90 minutes in an unbelievable way. The millions of fans we have all around the world, they obviously have a very bad feeling. I feel so sorry for that. I have to apologise for that as the leader of this dressing room. The only thing I can say is that I am Manchester United 100 per cent. Not 99 per cent, and one per cent for Chelsea or any other club. I am 100 per cent for Manchester United. Because of that I feel deeply the situation. But there is only one answer, like I was telling the players, there is only one answer. Training tomorrow, and keep fighting."

GLAD THE NEXT GAME IS A BIG ONE - MAN CITY IN THE EFL CUP?

"I would prefer to play in the Premier League. It's a bad feeling in the Premier League. With the combination of results the gap to the top is six points. We've had a very difficult period of matches. We lost points this week and even in the match when we played phenomenal against Stoke, we lost points then. Now we need to win matches. I'm not saying they are easy ones but we have Burnley, we have Swansea, West Ham, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, matches that we need to win and the top four, the top five, they have to play between themselves like we did this week against Chelsea and Liverpool. They are going to lose points too so we are in the run but there is no way to hide because I think our faces speak by themselves. We are really, really sad but again this is not for kids, this is for men and tomorrow we have to be men and work for the next one."
